Question by K2010: Is it true about lung Cancer? That sudden decision giving up smoking is a early symptom of the cancer. Like many people stopped smoking shortly before being diagnosed with it.

Answer by Robert D Nope. I suddenly decided to stop smoking 30 years ago. I didn’t have cancer, though I might have if I had continued.

It is not unusual to see people diagnosed with lung cancer who state they recently stopped smoking, but this is usually do to symptoms not the other way around.
