They start off for fun. Before they know they are hooked on [addicted]. Then it is hard to break loose. Lung cancer is one of the consequences, even though they probably didn’t realize it when they started.

In the UK as well (not everyone who uses this site is American!). Everyone has a right to decide what they do with their own life.

There are different answers to that question to why people smoke whether they give good answers or bad answers to why in the end it does not matter what the answers are but I am not here to talk about whether smoking is good for you or not I am just here to explain the different answers as to why people would smoke.
here are the different answers to your question
1. people smoke to fit in with the in crowd
2. people smoke cause they are peer pressured
3. people smoke cause they seen their parents or friends or their favorite person smoking
4. people smoke cause it gives them something to do with their hands
5. people smoke cause it calms their nerves when their stressed or cause they think its a stress reliever when they are stressed
6.people smoke cause they think it makes them look cool
7.people smoke cause they think its fun
8. the younger people smoke cause they think it makes them an adult
there are more answers but I am not going to get into those ones but you get the idea
there are just 8 here that I gave whether they are good reasons or bad they smoke cause of those reasons these are just some of the reasons I think

What about all the people who get cancer who have never smoked in their life? So many people get cancer and yes smoking is one of the possible risk factors for lung cancer but not most other types of cancer. I don’t smoke but I don’t have a problem with people who do-it’s their choice, and as long as they don’t smoke around me or around kids I’m fine with it. You’re just as likely to get cancer if you don’t smoke, and people can do what they want. Smoking is very addictive and most of the people I know who smoke really do want to quit but it’s so hard once they are hooked. I am just glad I never smoked and don’t ever intend to.
