Varies a lot by individual, but most are past middle age. Smoking doesn’t just cause lung cancer though, it contributes to cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, obstructive pulmonary disease, etc. It also increases the likelihood of certain other cancers (like mesothelioma).

One relative was in his mid 40s and another was in his 70s – he was the heaviest smoker too.
Heart disease is probably more prevalent then lung cancer. Either way, you are sicker then a dog and getting closer to making a trip to the happy hunting grounds. What you are asking is a huge variable as there are extenuating circumstances, metabolism. frequency, original age of addiction, response to medication. etc.
Both of my ladys grandparents started smoking under the age of ten, have been smoking 3 packs a day since 20y/o. they are 80 now. Not a single cancer cell in either of their bodies, no heart disease, no chf, absolutley no major medical problems. 70 years of smoking3packs/day non filter cigarrettes is amazing, but some people are unlucky and develope it within 5yrs of smoking-luck of the draw. Its really more about your body and genetics than anything, if medicine and disease was the same for every person they shouldve died a long time ago.
