“Halley wear the sunscreen, you already look like a gang of orange markers attacked you” I said handing her the bottle of SPF 70 she examined the bottle as she hit the gas pedal.

“Lila, you expect me to wear this? It’s summer for god’ s sake not Halloween and I don’t want to look like a pale ghost like you!” she said throwing the pink rigged bottle at me .

I snapped back into the moment remembering the picture that day from the beach, she looked like she was of Spanish descent, her long wavy black hair against her dark skin and then me looking like your typical Irish girl, long blonde hair and pale skin. She was wearing a leopard print bikini and I a black one piece. They both kind of suited our personality, me classic and simple and my sister’s risqué and vibrant.

“Did you hear me Lila” my mother said as she sniffled and took her left arm rubbing her blue blouse that accented her red hair and green eyes nicely.

“Yeah” I said as my voice also shook back to reality

“Your father will be bringing her home to get her things for the stay, they need to start the chemo immediately.” my mother said peering out the window.

It’s being told by the perspective of the younger sister, while her sister is in the hospital she will be with her for most of the time because her parents are working to pay all of the hospital bills, while Lila (Thinking about switching the names) is at the hospital she meets and begins a close friendship with Owen, who is dieing of cancer and has a slim chance of survival. Anyway in the end it looks as if Halley is going to make it so she focus’ her attention on Owen, but then in the final days of Halley’s life they find a MET rapidly growing on her lung, that soon kills her. Owen then makes it. The title would be “Short But Sweet”
How does it sound?
I don’t see my sister’s keeper in this plot at all I’m a big fan of Jodi’s work and I’ve read My Sister’s Keeper and this is nothing like that, for example the younger sister isnt being asked to give up her organs and she wasn’t created to save her sister. And the younger sister’s life in the end isn’t taken and the older sister doesn’t live because the younger sister dies. I just don’t see that similarity at all.

The plot has potential (although it sounds SO much like My Sister’s Keeper but with a few changes), but you really need a good lesson in grammar.

“…melanoma[.]” [M]y mind drifted away from the dusty kitchen table and from the white empty walls to last summer[.]

You do you use the word ‘said’ (< - dialogue tag) more times than it's needed. Try this:

"...ghost like you!” She threw the pink rigged bottle at me .

Question by Wildflower: How to support a dying friend?
I have a friend who was diagnosed with lung cancer and has refused treatment… We are very close, and I was the first person he told. At this point, he doesn’t want anyone else to know, doesn’t want to talk about it, and says he just wants to live until he dies…

I truly am at a loss on how best to support him in this and what to do… he has teenage children which he needs to be planning for and helping them to cope, in my opinion, though he has said he will not tell them or anyone else.

I mean, I feel so silly talking about the weather or whatever, when I know that he’s on a limited timeline… Advice?
I’ve known him for 20 years… it is a close friendship.

This will be difficult-but you should encourage him to make sure all of him affairs are in order. For instance his will etc for the children. He could even arrange and pay for his funeral now and then it will be easier for the children to cope. Encourage him to be responsible to the children as survivors and even plan for their care after he is gone. Perhaps a family member would take care of them. He needs to face these things now his time is very limited.

I have been writing a story about a dream I had one night. Its about a 13 year old boy who sees a girl in a vision from 30 years in the future. he spends his life researching time travel to find a way to get to his love. Tell me what ya think!

“Wake up Doctor!” exclaimed Mr.Doval. There was a loud crack as he threw open the door and ran into the dimly lit apartment. The blinds were closed and the lights were off. There was an odd silence to the room as Mr.Doval searched the efficiency. He stepped through a narrow hall into the study. The wood floor creaked as he walked onward. The desk lamp was shattered on the floor, glowing faintly making the man look almost ghostly. Dr.Henry Kompakia was sitting at an old wooden desk, a pencil in his hand, crafting strange pictures of things Mr.Doval had never seen before.
“Doctor?” Mr.Doval whispered as he walked up to the man. “GO!” the man exclaimed, Doval jumping in fright. The doctor threw down the writing utensil and threw the chair out into the darkness of the room. “Come back tomorrow!” He yelled as he rose from the desk. He must have been at least six feet tall, towering over Mr.Doval.” The machine…its ready, doctor,” Mr.Doval stuttered.
Suddenly the man’s expression changed, his eyes widened and he got a strange grin on his face. “Is it ready for flight?” the doctor asked Mr.Doval, his voice booming through the entire room. “Not quite, but it will be ready in time”, Dovel solomley stated,
“May I ask where you will be going?”
“To days to come!” the doctor shouted excitedly. That was the first time Doval had ever heard Dr.Kompakia sound so happy.
“So I guess you have waited awhile to meet her” Doval half asked the doctor. In fact, Henry Kompakia had waited longer than most people have ever waited for anything. “I have known her since I was a child”, the doctor whispered. His voice was faint, but you could feel the energy of his thoughts. ” I may know she doesnt exist yet, but that isnt enough to stop love”, the doctor told Doval. 43 year old Henry walked after Mr.Doval slowly down the corridors out of the dimly lit apartment. “So what time will you be transported to?”doval asked curiously. He wasnt told much about the experiment. The Doctor was always a quiet man, not willing to share his inner thoughts with anyone but his wife. When Mrs. Carly Kompakia passed from a lethal lung cancer, The Doctor had stayed in his apartment, only leaving once every few months to check up on the experiment.
“I will be going to the exact date of April 5, 2043 at exactly 10:09 in the morning. A resteraunt called Calligan’s Place” Henry told Doval as the short man shifted the old Corvett into gear. “But even when you get there”, doval asked, “How will you find her?”
“I already know my love, I will never forget that beautiful face”, Kompakia told the fat scientist driving the car.
Sorry its a little hard to understand without reading more… heres some facts for you…

Henry Kompakia was sleeping one night, when he had a vision about a beautiful blonde child his age. She told him she loved him and he loved her in the same, but there was a simple problem. She was from 30 years in the future. But every night, he could speak to her, and she spoke back. The loved with a beautiful love never felt by anyone ever before. Henry decides that it cannot simply be his imagination. It is too powerful to be fake. He knew there was a connection to our time, and year 2043 and he has an idea to use the link to travel to his love. The two talked about it every night, but then it began to stop. The dreams became less often, until one year, they stopped completely. With the help of his friend Martin Doval, he has completed his design to reopen the link to the future, but sustaining the connection long enough that he could travel back and forth between time. To days to come 2043!

This video shows you all 8 loctions of the teddy bear easter eggs in MW3. This video doesn’t include the desert eagle wielding bear in lockdown, this easter egg is the most common easter egg and I decided to leave it out. When the making of this video commenced, there was only 8 bears total that had been found. If any more have been found by now, that’s not my f*cking problem. Having said that, this video really has the 7 other bear locations. Enjoy EDIT: There are 9 bears as of 14 November – 2011 The bear under the desk in Dome is not included in this video.
