license to remove abestos?
Question by : license to remove abestos?
Best answer:
Answer by Windy
Yes, it is a hazmat thing. Asbestos can be on your heating system, hot water tank, etc. If you are planning on getting them replace, you have to contact an agency that deals with asbestos removal to get rid of it for you. Don’t do it yourself, if you get caught, jail and serious fines. Asbestos is linked to cancer. If the asbestos is in good condition, you aren’t doing remodeling to your heating system, it can stay where it is as long as it’s intact and pieces aren’t falling off.

PLEASE HELP.!! abestos siding?
Question by Amanda: PLEASE HELP.!! abestos siding?
CAN YOU TELL IF AN OLD SIDING IS ASBESTOS OR NOT BY LOOKING AT IT BECAUSE I KNOW THAT ALOT OF SIDINGS CAN LOOK LIKE ASBESTOS AND ARE NOT
Best answer:
Answer by 2gadoo
Depends on how old the siding is. Its pretty safe as long as its not breaking off in pieces. It is quite costly to have it removed because they have to go through all the safety laws by tapping off the area around the house. My old house (now my ex’s house) has asbestos siding & we never had any problems with it.

Q&A: im kinda worried! abestos?
Question by BLeAcH-LuV: im kinda worried! abestos?
today my cousin went into the attic and accidentaly put a hole through the ceiling wall in the kitchen. my parents looked at it and started fixing it. my mom mentioned abestos and keep working like nothing was wrong. now my skin is itchy and painful and my friend mentioned fiberglass. which one is it? i seem to be the only one worried beacuse abestos is bad..right?
Best answer:
Answer by SHANE
there’s a chance your skin is itchy, due to the insulation in the wall, which does contain fibreglass most of the time. this however isn’t a long term problem, you will just be itchy for a day. if there is a chance there is asbestos advise your parents to remove in the correct manner. asbestos is fine in the home until it has been broken or damaged then the fibres can be released and harm those in the house.

Abestos Tile Flooring?
Question by Aly: Abestos Tile Flooring?
So recently, we removed the carpet in my basement and discovered that underneath the carpet was tile flooring. At the time, we didn’t think much of the tile so we contained to remove the carpet. I want to know if my tiles possibly contain abestos? Would it be dangerous to be in my basement? We don’t plan on removing the tile or anything. Would it be fine if we just left the tile alone? Oh, and the house was built in 1968.
Best answer:
Answer by tardebigge
The only way to know if your tiles contain asbestos is to examine a sample of the tile under a microscope. You will be able to see the asbestos fibers.
If there is asbestos in your tiles, you may wish to encapsulate them under another layer of something, like a wooden floor. Asbestos really is dangerous when it becomes friable.

Q&A: Abestos cement question?
Question by A Human: Abestos cement question?
I had a garage with abestos cement and had it removed. However I then demolished the garage and loads of dust went into my face but is this dangerous as the abestos had already been removed?
Best answer:
Answer by Jack Frost
I wouldn’t be too concerned. Most of the people suffering from asbestos-related disease worked in the industry and had lots of exposure over extended periods of time. Next time, use a dust mask and protective eyewear, and shower and wash your clothes.
If the asbestos removal company did their job well, you shouldn’t have any concerns.

I am in the market of buying a home. The home I am the most interested in is STEAM HEATED with Abestos covering the pipes. What are the dangers in this? Will my family and be safe, as long as the pipes are in good condition?
Best answer:
Answer by Robert S
Aslong as the covering over the asbestos is in good condition you have nothing to worry about. You should get an inspector in before you buy it to determine the condition. You might also want to get it covered with a more modern product to reduce the chances even further.
