I recently finished chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma. My last treatment was June 26th. Within the last week my skin has been really irritated. However I haven’t eaten or used anything different or new. But my skin is super itchy and I can’t seem to get it to go away. Does anyone know if this is normal or have any suggestions?

Q&A: Why did I develop a smokers cough after I quit smoking?
Question by : Why did I develop a smokers cough after I quit smoking?
I smoked for upwards of 30 years, I recently quit cold turkey, wasn’t near as hard as I thought it was going to be by the way. However about three weeks after quitting I developed a smokers cough, or at least I’m assuming that’s what it is since I have no symptoms of a cold, the flu or a respiratory infection. I am coughing up small amounts of phlegm, it’s usually clear, sometimes a greenish white. Any Ideas why this is happening now that I’ve quit smoking. I never had a smokers cough when I was a smoker.

I got my first mosquito bite in 5 years about 2 weeks ago. I was so excited.
The chemo must finally be out of my bloodstream!
Only other post chemo patients would understand how that could be good.
by the time I got my 3rd bite, the excitement had worn off…..

Question by : What happens after you you have chemotherapy for breast cancer?
So my teacher had breast cancer surgery and they said she might need chemotherapy and I’m wondering if she will be calmer when she gets back. So just tell me how she will act and look when she gets back and how long it will take her to get back since she was supposed to come back November 2nd. Give me all the information you can:-)
Best answer:
Answer by jackie m
My sister had breast cancer last year and then had the chemo which is done every 3 weeks for 6 months and then radiotherapy every day for 6 weeks and my sister works in an office and was off work for almost 1 year, she lost all her hair and eyebrows and eyelashes and gained weight with the medication and she was very tired and now she has returned to work she only works part time because of the tiredness, all her treatment finished around march this year but takes a long time to get your body back to normal but her personality is just the same as it was before but she appreciates things now knowing that life is too short. It is unlikely your teacher will be calmer than she was as she will have been to hell and back.

What is life like for a person with Cystic Fibrosis after a lung transplant?
Question by Bruce W: What is life like for a person with Cystic Fibrosis after a lung transplant?
I heard, and I may be wrong, that a person who receives a lung transplant will need this repeated within a few years, perhaps 5 years? What is a person’s quality of life like after a double lung transplant? Will the person develop CF problems in the new lungs? How long are people living after a lung transplant?
Best answer:
Answer by gangadharan_nair
Lungs- Since this organ’s main attachments are rather simple, lung transplantation is not too difficult a surgical procedure. Lung transplantation has been performed on several patients, and there is no doubt that one day, transplatation of this organ is quite common.
There are several patients who has received donor lungs. Unfortunately, to date, no one has survived for very long after this procedure even when operative recovery has ensued. Fatal rejection reaction have occurred in all cases.

The newest thing in remodeling is removing the popcorn ceilings. But, the remodeling shows on tv do not say what to do to the ceilings once you have removed the popcorn. Is it supposed to be left flat, textured in some way?? Which way is the best??

After we removed ours from the bathroom (which took forever and got in my eyes!), we painted it. It was flat and actually turned out looking very well done. It only took two coats of white paint to make it look like it had always been flat.

Q&A: Tumor Found in Supraclavicular Node 8 months after breast cancer treatment, could this be metastasis? ?
Question by Audrey H: Tumor Found in Supraclavicular Node 8 months after breast cancer treatment, could this be metastasis? ?
Diagnosed March 2007 with Stage 1 breast cancer, right breast. Axillary node removed, negative for cancer. Went through chemo and radiation, finished in February 2008. Went to follow-up October 13, first time for follow-up needed a break from doctors for a while. Complained of pain which I have had for the last 2-3 months from top of right breast to over shoulder and down the back. Sono showed tumor in supraclavicular node, right side. I have a CT scan on Thursday the 30th.
What does a CT scan show? Being that I just finished cancer treatment seems metastasis is the likely answer?
Best answer:
Answer by Panda
Hopefully it will turn out to be benign or something different, but yes metastasis is always a worry once you’ve been diagnosed with cancer.
Cancer can be very deceptive. A CT will give a better image of the tumor or spot and also may give indication if there are any more tumors to be seen. Be persistent about this . . you need to know exactly what you are dealing with. Also if this turns out to be nothing it is always a good idea to have CT or even a PET scan to use as a ‘baseline’ . . the doctor needs to have the scans to compare every three to six months to make sure the cancer is gone or to measure tumor shrinkage or track relapse.
Good luck and stay strong.

Question by themaggie5: lung cancer patient was told by Dr. that’s all folks cant do any more for you, after falling for the 4th time?
is there any truth to that, she has been falling getting out of bed ( I think ) to fast to go the bath room and gets dizzy and no one there to help her and she falls but the Doctor has the balls to tell her just in these WORDS that all folks , she was told the first time this past Feb,13,2010 that she had cancer and all the chemo treatments they kept saying it was working perfect and the cancer was getting smaller and it was under control, now thats all folks ?
Best answer:
Answer by Denisedds
It is hard to imagine the doctor would have told her it was under control when that is so very unlikely.
She can always get a second opinion.
However, she should have been told without surgery her chances of survival are zip.
I’m sorry, but it is true.

Brakes need changing after only 29k miles?? Tundra?
Question by krambis31: Brakes need changing after only 29k miles?? Tundra?
Just received call from Toyota dealership saying my front brakes need replacing after only 29K miles after buyin my Tudra brand new a few years back (08′), is this possible? He said there down to 2 mil. and I find this hard to believe as I’ve owned Chevy trucks and swore I didn’t need replacements until 70K miles or so. Does this make sense to anybody who knows brakes? He said something to the effect that since California changed requirements to non-asbestos brakes (or something like that) that this is typical. Need some advice. thanks
Best answer:
Answer by John
They probably do need to be replaced, I have an ’08 Tundra with 25k miles on it and the front breaks have started giving me trouble already. I’m going to have them checked next time I get the oil changed.

all the other blood work was normal but hep c was positive. I can still have liver cancer?
will they do an ultra sound before the biopsy? Or just go right into the biopsy?

Answer by thevoice_692001
You are getting WAY ahead of yourself, most of the time liver cancer is the end effect of Hep C sometimes. This is not always the end result of the disease. I have had Hep C for 25 years and still have no sign of liver cancer

How can my family find closure and move on after our father’s death? Sad story :(?
Question by zzzzzzzzzzzIM…ASLEEPzzzzzzzzzz: How can my family find closure and move on after our father’s death? Sad story
?
My family was always full of love. My story starts off like this… My father is a hard working laborer and he started off life living on a farm. With everyday being a task, it seems as though it has followed him all through his life. My father has always treated my family with love and care. God is always in his life. He is loved by us all. I was 16 years old, the day my family found out my father had lung cancer. Its a fatal disease of course. As the months had gone by, I would notice his body start to weaken and look thinner as it was eating his muscles. But to my family – we have faith, and we feel it can conquer anything. So we prayed… the doctors said my father would not last 6 months. That had passed and he is still alive. After visiting the doctors again , we found the cancer was diminishing… a miracle to the doctors. They had never seen anyone in his condition last as long as he did. So they felt a break from the treatments would help his body recuperate since the chemo treatments were killing him more than the cancer was. We returned 3 months later to find the cancer had returned with full force, but not only covering his lungs, but also speckling his spine. After returning to the treatments, it wasn’t but another 10 months before it entered his liver – a vital organ. During this time the doctor was giving him less than a couple weeks. We couldn’t believe them, after all that was my dad – Mr. Invincible. However within a couple weeks, he started to say things that wouldn’t make sense I could slowly see him leaving my family unwillingly. It was very hard for me, and I could not bare to go into his room to see him – not even to say goodbye. After all we still had faith… It was 2 days before Father’s Day (1 month later)at this point he was in the hospital. I sat at his side watching TV on how ice cream is made, talking with him like a normal day. However, I couldn’t tell him how I feel, and how much I love him. It was too hard… He was gone within the next hour. There was no chance to turn back and say goodbye now. With all the extra time God had given me, I still could not manage to express how I felt. With a family full of love, a time now full of sadness, and a great loss. The times that were, are no longer – we are now lost without you. The ache is unbarable, but I know I will see you again one day. But for now… Rest in peace, Dad… And what I meant to say was: I Love You so Much!

I am so sorry to hear this…This touched me so much, and made me appreciate life so much more. I can’t explain how much I sympathize with you. I’m not a “soft” guy, but this really got to me and got me thinking. Look at it this way. Your father lived an amazing life, and he sounds like a man people admired. He will always be your father, alive or not. We can’t change the past, but only make the future better. Live up to his name, as I am sure your capable. You sound like an amazing individual, and may god bless you.

how long does it take for lung cancer to start spreading again after raditaion the person was only strong enuff for radition treatments has lung cancer
Best answer:
Answer by Cyndi S
Sorry to hear about this illness in your loved one. How many treatments did he get? Also are you sure he can’t get chemo? The treatment he could get can be broken down to weekly and he may be able to tolerate it. Was it small cell or non-small cell? Has the cancer spread? Also how large was the tumor? Many factors play into a realistic answer. I’ll be glad to try and help you but I need more info. One things for sure- it’s the will to live. I’ve seen people who should have died in a week live 15+ years and people who should have gone into complete remission be gone the next day. Good luck and God bless and keep you!
