I have asthma and am told to stay away from conventional products such as soap, shampoos, sunscreens, deodorants, toothpastes, and mouthwashes cause of the chemicals.
I am told to STOP using dial soap, colgate toothpaste, right guard deodorant and head & shoulders and start using alternative products such as Toms of Maine and Aubrey and Dr Bronner products from a health food store that are “natural and safe.” Im sorry but natural products DONT DO THE JOB when it comes to personal hygiene. I have tryed these natural products and they didnt get me clean and they did not keep body odor away for long. Not only that I tryed toms of maine toothpaste without floruide and i had two more cavities. the dentist told me to go back to uysing conventional toothpaste with fluoride.
Is their any scientific evidence that these natural and alternative products are any safer or any better? I never hear of anyone getting cancer from dial soap or Colgate toothpaste. I think the Food and Drug and Administration regulates conventional products like dial and colgate and others to ensure their safety. I dont like spending $ 2.50 for a bar of Toms of Maine soap or Dr Bronners soap just because its “natural.”

I think alternative anything is a scam. I want scientific proof or facts to back up claims to make sure some products are unsafe and will cause cancer. Otherwise im going back to using conventional products. Anyone got any good websites or knowledge dubunking alternative myths? Does anyone agree with me? Whats your stance on “alternative products?” Waste of money or not?

It sounds like the reason you were told to avoid Dial, Right Guard, etc. is more for avoidance of the fragrances. With asthma, fragrance can often trigger an attack. The “natural” products are usually fragrance free, hence the recommendation that you use them. Some of the natural products work just as well as the others and some don’t. It can be expensive trying the different products in an attempt to find those that work for you. In my own experience, most of the soaps, shampoos, deodorants, tampons, etc. do not perform as well as mainstream products. I haven’t had much success in finding many that I would buy again. As for whether it’s bunk or not, I can only say that I have worked in healthcare for a good number of years. I know very few physicians or nurses who purchase and use these “natural” products on a regular basis. If they were so much better/safer than what we can buy at the corner drug store, wouldn’t every doctor be using them? To me, it’s much like the ads you see for certain supplements that claim they will prevent cancer and all that. If these products really did that, every doctor in the US would be advising their patients to use them. Lots of people will come back at that and say no, doctor’s don’t tell you because they want your money. Well……BS is all I can say. Major drug companies, maybe. Individual doctors (or rather the majority of them) are practicing medicine because they truly want to help people. If there was a magic cure-all, they’d tell you about it, believe me!

The alternative medical treatment consists of not being able to breathe very well. Have your doctor prescribe treatment. Also: did he check out your heart? Pain in the upper-left quadrant is always a cause for concern.

Surgeon who specializes in tumor removals or alternative medicine?

My mother has had cancer for five years now, but this tumor began growing in July of 2010.

Because of many hassles with doctors, including lies claiming that it was a bug bite and then a cyst, even with our repeating that she has a history of cancer, we cannot remove it.

The main reason why Kaiser has refused to remove her tumor is because of a major artery it connects to. They said they can’t remove it without hitting that artery, which will put her onto life support until she dies.

I’m still searching for a miracle. I’ve seen on TV massive facial tumors being removed, and I’m searching for anything. The tumor covers the entire left side of her face now, and it’s beginning to cover her mouth. If we don’t find something out soon, it’s going to end up crushing her skull. We’re lucky that it hasn’t affected her brain yet.

So please, is there any surgeon ANYWHERE who might have a shot at this? Or any treatment that we can do? I’m desperate now, and the internet is all I have left to find a solution.
she’s had lymphoma, colon, and thyroid cancer.

my story shouldn’t make sense. it’s not my fault that we spent 6 months trying to force the doctors to do something just to hear over and over again that it was as small as a bug bite. the tumor is feeding off of the blood, so the doctor’s excuse is if it were to be removed, they would have to cut the arteries, and if one of them were to be altered she would either bleed to death or be put on life support.

honestly i really don’t care if it doesnt “make sense.” if you’re not here to help, then you might as well not say anything at all. I’m 17 years old with a dying mother, the one person in my family who supports me, the last thing I care about is if my story makes sense to you.

That’s probably not cancer, but a benign growth. Your second paragraph, I just don’t believe.
With her history of cancer, has she had surgery, chemo, radiation?? Tumors on the outside don’t crush your skull and if it’s not a cancerous tumor, it won’t affect her brain either. She can get her records and go to any other dr. On their opinion, can be referred to another hospital for their opinion. Or she can just go to another hospital also.

For something as complex as cancer I’d find an alternative doctor. Someone certified in Ayurveda or Traditional Chinese Medicine would be my recommendation. You will most likely be given diet changes to make, and herbal or physical (acupuncture etc.) treatments. Diet changes shouldn’t interact with any other therapies. Herbal supplements can sometimes be combined with traditional methods-just make sure your doctor knows you’re doing that.

i have a question about the alternative medicine apologist site “ConZone” aka “Curezone”?

so yeah wow. what the hell is up with those people? crazy huh?

my queston is how do people get away with conning people like that? one of the users is going around saying he has a 90% cure rate for cancer. it reminds me of those religious sect leaders who go around making claims like they are some sort of god.

I know my answers are long, but I hope the proponents of alternative health take the time to read this one in full.

If you do not like the fact we have freedom of speech in this country, we don’t you move to communist china or something?

It is bad enough that people are forced to put disclaimers in their books on alternative health telling people to ask their doctor before following their advice/study/research even though that is the last thing they believe and they know the doctors knows nothing about the topic at hand and will randomly and blanketly said do not use it’;

it is bad enough that herbal products makers can put no sign of what illness the product is used for on the label and must find others ways to inform the public for what they need to use it for, but now intolerant people like you are dissing an entire site with many thousands of users for a single person.

Curezone is a powerful site, maybe one of the most powerful on the internet for changing lives to those smart enough to try what is there with their own discernment and listening to see if their inner voice resonates with what is there and then actually trying it and lifestyle changes..

I regularly recommend the work of Dr Schulze and Dr Christopher who cured many of incurables diseases though their combined 7 decades of clinical work dealing with people doctors gave zero hope to and curing many of them of everything, including cancer, at great personal risk for healing people without a license and a combined 9 arrests.

At some of their court cases, like Hoxsey the quack who cured cancer before them, the very people that were healed that someone else put up charges on arrived in court- records in hand- to show the judge their cancer was in fact healed and how badly they suffered before hand and the results of the now clean xrays.

In the case of Hoxsey, sued in the 20s by the AMA and its leader Morris Fishbine, it was shown that Fishbine had not passed medical school etc and as dozens of people showed up and each in turn told their amazing stories with records to back up their healings and terminal illnesses now gone, the judge concluded that the Hoxsey formula did, in fact, cure cancer and the AMA lost the case. It was the only time this had ever happened.

Also many of the things I mention for healings of –say kidney disease– I saw good results with personally or saw studies on the effectiveness of the treatment. I also make no money on any of the products leaving me without ulterior motives unlike many others on here on both sides so I can be free to recommend only that I really feel works.

Many of the things that alternate health people recommend are just common sense and time after time I have seen new studies on various components of Dr Schulze’s incurables program backed up in newspaper articles or new studies showing me repeatedly his clinical work and the many components of the incurables program, in fact, has a real basis.

I personally am a believer in God and nature and its wisdom for the herbs and plants given and created for all our ills and needs. I believe God is all knowing and wise enough to create the things we need to heal and live an abundant, healthy life. We just need to follow the laws of nature.

I believe the Bible when it says the wisdom of men is foolishness to God and his all knowing characteristics. I do not think man holds all the answers.

I have read books based on tens of thousands of medical studies on various foods and herbs that back up the plant does, in fact, contain chemicals that do influence positively the illness they are traditionally used for in the eons of human history.

I believe that all knowledge is built on the work of those who came before us and their experiments and experiences good or bad so we can discard what history shows is harmful (like allopaths bleeding people or using mercury in the past and keep what has proven to work (like hawthorne for the heart or even using leeches for certain traumatic injuries to curtail bleeding as is currently used by allopaths for example.)

I do not believe that every person that lived before our generation were idiots. To the contrary, given the clean environment and its optimal effects on the brain, they may have well been smarter in many ways.

Alternative health is a broad umbrella comprising hundreds of treatments and ideas. I do not believe them all. I also feel the profit motive both for drug companies and herbal supplement makers result in not using helpful products in the case of drug makers due to the fact they are not money makers that can be patented or making inferior herbal products to cut the cost. One must generally use organic herbal tinctures when using herbs and not the commonly used conventional herb capsules.

I find that curezone is an amazing site and one of my favorites due to the large number of people with personal testimonies in helping themselves and others and the large number of highly informed and knowledgeable, very smart people who do not believe the status quo

Nice websites mean nothing. That one contains the usual lies and deceptions. Save your money for medical treatments. Here’s their “get-out”.

I became an avid believer of proper medical care for years. But later on I have seen how alternative medicine has save people going to the cutting board on too many occasions. For example, supplements can prevent many diseases and even cancer. Most Kidney stones, on the other hand, can be treated by simply drinking a cup of pickle juice everyday. Even pets when my dogs puppies contracted Parvo everyone told me to take them to the vet. I was told the cost would be over 7,000 for Parvo care treatement.The list goes on and on.

The cancer business is very lucrative. A doctor could lose his/her license for prescribing an alternative treatment, even if their patient is terminal. I know someone with stage 4 who is using the Gerson Method and they are very pleased with the results. Netflix has a DVD about the Gerson Method.

A naturopathic doctor saved a girls life with herbs and alternative therapy. Why is it naturopaths aren’t getting the credit they deserve in medicine.

I researched their training and their medical school is longer than conventional doctors yet they are so much more limited.

Don’t tell me they aren’t as qualified when I’ve seen them do the same course work as MDs. Conventional medicine has been around just a little over a 100 years.

While Alternatives have been around for thousands of years and much of the world (75%) is still using them.

My son was require by an MD to take speed (Rittelan) for focus at school. Over the summer I’ve done some research of my own an after talking with an herbalist he was put on 3 herbs and has no problems with focus any longer.

MD must stand for something other than medical doctor! I have a client (I own a hair salon) that had cancer and was healed by a Naturopathic doctor through the use of herbs.

Why is it people think there’s no cure for cancer? There is it’s your own body with a little help from a good herbalist or naturopathic doctor (ND)!

Because all placebo controlled studies show they do nothing.

Anecdotes don’t mean anything. They aren’t data. Naturopathy cannot stand scientific scruntiny. They aren’t doctors and they don’t actually treat anything.

Don’t be a fool. Messing around with vitamins and herbs isn’t going to cure cancer and the person will end up sicker in the long run. For the record, osteopaths use allopathic methods in dealing with the big C.

I’m not going to ask if it cured your cancer that is a far fetched idea but from everything I have read about this it could have good health benefits for other things. To charlatans and con-artists usually, as these are the people most willing to part desperate and vulnerable people from their cash in exchange for unproven, ineffective and occasionally dangerous ‘treatments’.

And sometimes to genuine, well-meaning but deluded people.

In this context ‘alternative’ is simply another way of saying ‘unproven’ or ‘disproven’. If an alternative medicine has been tested and found to be effective, it’s no longer ‘alternative medicine’, it’s just ‘medicine’.

That said, I fully understand the desperation of someone willing to try anything, however unlikely and bizarre.

So I suggest that if any particular ‘alternative cancer treatment’ interests you, you do a search on this site for facts before investing hope, money or (most dangerous of all) time in an ineffective and possibly dangerous ‘treatment’:
