Albuterol inhalers made by Armstrong Pharmaceuticals, Inc…Where do i look for present day inhalers ?
Question by lukec1943: Albuterol inhalers made by Armstrong Pharmaceuticals, Inc…Where do i look for present day inhalers ?
At present my primary Doctor has me on a breathing Inhaler=Albuterol 90MCG 200D oral INHL. Made by Armstrong.
But i was told by the local drug store that this type inhaler would be discontinued & replaced with a different Aerosol mixture on or before Jan 1st 2009.
I do know that all the present day Albuterol type inhalers are being phased out. With the reason being for the enviorment & ozone layer ?
These new Albuterol type inhalers are being made with a different chemical make up by all the pharmaceutical company state side, if not world wide ?
Over the years past & present, i have found out that the new version inhalers do not work near as well or act as fast with the needed quick relief as the ones that they were replaced with.
So, my question is where if possible would i be able to obtain the older inhalers ? Would Canada still have the older version inhalers prescription wise ? Or who if any other ?
Note; i suffer from asbestos with my breathing.
Thank You.

After albuterol is taken off the market, you shouldn’t be able to get it from anywhere and if you could, it would be really really hard to do. There are a various number of short acting respiratory medications but the new formulation of albuterol should not have a significant difference in the way it works for you- and if it does, your doctor should be able to prescribe other things for you.

Question by HealthFreak: How did Lance Armstrong get started/make the yellow silicone wristbands (supporting cancer cures)?
Best answer:
Answer by mindcrime828
During his battle with cancer, Lance created the Lance Armstrong Foundation with its core program being raising money for cancer research and education. The Foundation partnered with Nike, through which Lance has a large endorsement contract, and Nike’s ad agency, Wieden+Kennedy to develop the bracelet.
The bracelet is part of the “Wear Yellow Live Strong” educational program. The program is intended to raise money for cancer research, raise cancer awareness, and encourage people to live life to the fullest. The bracelet sells individually, as well as in packs of 10, 100, and 1,200 as part of an effort to raise $ 25.1 million for the Lance Armstrong Foundation in cooperation with Nike who manufactures the bracelets in Austin, Texas the home of Lance Armstrong and other world wide manufacturing plants and sells the bracelets through their Nike outlets worldwide. This target was achieved within 6 months, and there have now been 70 million LIVESTRONG bracelets sold to date. Individual bands sell for US$ 1 each.
Yellow was chosen for its importance in professional cycling, as it is the color of the yellow jersey worn by the leader of the Tour de France, which Armstrong won seven consecutive times. Other charities were inspired by the success of the LIVESTRONG band, and many charities have developed their own bracelets for raising money and awareness.

How is Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer INCURABLE? What about clinical trials? And look @ Lance Armstrong!?
Question by scary shari: How is Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer INCURABLE? What about clinical trials? And look @ Lance Armstrong!?
Call me an idealistic fool, but ever since Elizabeth Edwards revealed her cancer recurrance was now “incurable”, I’ve been confused. How can ANY cancer be called “incurable” in this day and age, where clinical trials are available everywhere? Also, what does “treatable but incurable” really mean? Will she still evetually die of her disease?
I know of folks who were told they were TERMINAL, so since they had nothing to lose, they enrolled in trials that carried some risk, but also a chance at cure. And some WERE cured! Is Elizabeth even considering enrolling in a trial? It seems she too, has nothing to lose, if her cancer truly is considered incurable by “regular” doctors (i.e. those not researching trials).
ALSO, what about Lance Armstrong? His testicular cancer metastisized to his liver, lungs and even his brain!! That basically wrote him off as DEAD — but look at how many years he’s been cancer-free!
Now you see why Elizabeth’s statement doesn’t make sense to me. Your thoughts?
jano — thanks for your kind words about my optimism.
Sometimes folks make fun of me for being optimistic (not just about diseases, but about most things in life). I don’t care if anyone makes fun of me, because I prefer to follow the quote from ancient Roman writer Publius Terentius Afer:
“While there’s life, there’s hope!” ![]()
Before I choose a “Best Answer”, I first want to say I wish I could give FOUR of you that distinction: jano, Gawaine R, hanora, and Tarkarri — you each deserve it!!
But “there can be only one.”
I also wanted to give my sincere best wishes to those who have battled cancer or lost a loved one to it. Cancer has touched someone in my family too — fortunately it was caught early, it was not aggressive, and that loved one is now 5+ years free and clear!
I wish the same success for everyone!

?lance armstrong experimental cure, all 9 metastasized cancers?
Question by cecilia s: ?lance armstrong experimental cure, all 9 metastasized cancers?
lance armstrong was treated for at least 9, 100% fatal fully metastasized cancers. Both lungs, stomach, pancrease, liver, brain, kidneys, blood, & bone. he recovered fully.
Best answer:
Answer by blue_schism
No, he was treated for testicular cancer, which moved and metastasized in various places. He didn’t have lung, stomach, pancreas, liver, brain, kidney, blood, or bone cancer. He had only one type of cancer, testicular. And if left untreated, testicular cancer can spread, but that doesn’t change the type of cancer. My husband had it, and it moved to his lung, but he didn’t have lung cancer, he only had testicular cancer that had traveled and metastasized in his lung. The type of cancer a person faces depends on where it originates—not where it ends up.
