As well as that my throat has been bothering me. I just noticed a little black dot inside my mouth by my back teeth and my right tonsil is a tad larger than that of the other. It also looks like little star bursts on that tonsil. Also my ear has been kinda bothering me. My question in all this is do I have head neck or throat cancer based on my description?

I, nor anyone here, can diagnose you with cancer based on what you have told us. If the black spots still concern you, you should see a doctor so they can check those spots out, However, I can tell you that the spots, if they are small, are probably nothing to worry about, if they get larger or become bothersome then you should see a doctor right away.
For your other question, HPV, even high risk HPV, comes and goes, the body tends to resolve it and then it returns, so on and so forth. The mutation of cells in the cervix that go cancerous can appear and then be resolved and then never happen again. The normal pap smear result just means that the HPV is not manifesting itself in a negative way at this time, this is the desired result. Continue to get your pap smears and do not freak out if it comes back abnormal again. This is common and may happen many times in your life.

I think my back is hurting why is say i think is cause i have a panic disorder and i read about things and they make me feel like i have it. I have been spitting up brown stuff for three months now but it has gone almost completely away. Well iv been thinking i have lung cancer cause my lower back hurts and feels like its getting pinched but then my shoulders hurt too? Iv been to the doctors they gave me a x-ray and said everything is normal looking but you know how doctors mistakes treatment? I don’t know how doctors “mistake treatment”. I have been through allot of cancer treatment and a host of other complications and have had hundreds of images done to the present and have never had a physician make a misdiagnosis or a mistake. Brown-green sputum is often caused by a viral lung infection. You are not dying. I just got over a bad lung infection and had similar symptoms for about 2-3 months as well. As long as you continue to keep slowly making progress and getting better then I would think you are on the path to making a full recovery.

I have to play the oboe in a concert in 2 weeks. I usually smoke electronic cigarettes but I ran out of liquid and was smoking real cigarettes for about a week. How long will it take for my lungs to get back to working like normal if I’ve stopped right now (able to play a long concert on the oboe)?

maybe it’s just a cut, or where a tick bit you and then came off, it’s probably not cancer, but if i were you i’d go to a doctor and tell them about it

1. right lower part of my lung had a big mass, was biapsiy and came positive of non small lung cancer. A surgery was peroformed and after few months the petscan, showed couple of my luymphnotds, on the same rightside of my lung was effect, so a radiation and chemo theropy were orderd and i went threw the treatment, however at the end of my treatment all my blood counts,white,red and platlets were verylow, and that caused a heavy cold,cough and spitting of blood. i was admitted hospital and given platlets and bloodtransfusion, and a scan was done, it showed a suspicious inflimation or something else excatley where i had my surgery, so iwas putting on heavy antibiatics,etc and i left hospital after being stable, where no more blodd coughing,spitting, fever,etc, and the doctor orderd a petscan to be perorfmed after 3 weaks,
the result came today, it shows the lymphnodes are clear,and everywhere in my body is clear,however some unclear activity that showed around surgery is still there

That was a rather rough course, I hope you are feeling better now.
The changes may simply be scar tissue from the healing surgical site. PET scan picks up biological activity, so active healing would show up. Keep up regular follow up with your doctor, however, so if anything changes you can get a jump on it. Good luck.

I suffered a heart attack 1 year ago and then in November 2007 I had an appendicitis and then had the lower lobe of my right lung removed after lung cancer was found. In Dec. 2007 I developed diverticulitis that was perforated and almost died twice. I cannot get my strength back and I am worried. I want to be myself again but I am tired all of the time and have to sit or lay down. What is wrong with me and will I ever be myself again?

Eat alot of vegies and things with protein and exersice or do yoga and meditate in a beautiful enviroment and swim and stay away from trans fats and things with parcially hygraganated oils and cholestrol be active do a good active hobbie and you will get your strength back all it takes is time be pacient and things will turn around you will be fine good luck

i say let your voice rest for a while and then practice practice practice i’ve had a problem like that i say let it rest for like a week or less than that just as soon as u start feeling a little better and then practice all you can

i have a friend thats jewish and she always gets angry at me whenever i say something random like “HIE HITLER” and i wasnt even aiming my salute to her. and she gets really angry and looks like she would cry. it didnt happen any time when she was born and she’s saying stuff like “oh they could come and get me any time they want and kill me” its ILLEGAL to do that, stop worrying. half the time she’s fine, she wouldnt do anything but laugh and laugh. and then i say something about jewish people or about hitler or give myself a hitler mustache, and she’s all over with her anger. it happened years back. YEARS. i do have a little anger problem but this has nothing to do with my reation. generally, i’m a fun loving guy that would laugh even at a funeral. but my friend? noo, one word about death, jews, hitler, or anything like that and she’s just emotional. its not about girls, its just about her. not all girls are like this! i’ve seen some happy go lucky girls that wouldnt cry all over when you speak of their dead parents. my friend’s grandmother’s family got murdered by hitler. so waht? did she know them?? nooo, maybe a few pictures but never personally. just last summer my great grandpa died. i didnt even know till the following year! did i react? noooo. i though hmm too bad. but i didnt know what this guy looked like or anything like htat. would i cry?? noo. over some dead guy? people die all the time! and this guy didnt just die of old age, he had lung cancer and he died after staying in that hospital for years. oh what a sad story. who cares?!?!? its done, he’s dead. i dont cry. i might feel emotional over my dead mother or father or sister or brother but other than my friends and that i wouldnt cry over a dead person. even if it was a teacher, a far friend, or distant reletive that i knew as a kid, i wouldnt budge or quiver a lip.

You are getting WAY ahead of yourself, most of the time liver cancer is the end effect of Hep C sometimes. This is not always the end result of the disease. I have had Hep C for 25 years and still have no sign of liver cancer

I am absolutely devastated. Today I found out that my mom’s cancer has returned. She previously had breast cancer which had spread to 2 lymph nodes but she has been cancer free for over a year and now it has come back to her lungs. This is the worst news I could have ever imagined as my mom is the nicest person in the world. I don’t know what to do, I feel so helpless and horrible for her. I know that if it has spread to her lungs the chances are not good and I am scared. My biggest concern is, how can I help her. For anyone who has been in this situation before please tell me what I can do for her… I am there for her but it doesn’t feel like enough. I hate feeling so helpless. Is there any research I can do for her and present to her? What about experimental drugs? I don’t care about the costs I just want her to get better. What are her odds? I know many people who have cancer spread to the lungs can live for several years, but are they always in remission or can someone become cancer-free after getting lung cancer? The cancer may also have spread to her liver or bones… this is so difficult to watch.

Don’t show her you are helpless and there is nothing that can be done. Be reasonable.. but don’t panic. Even if chances are small, there are still small chances that she can get over this. Be with her and be strong, this way your positive attitude will help her. Never give up.
If the doctors can’t help her, research about natural medicine. There are cases that some people got better with the help of herbs, etc.
Even if it doesn’t work out.. you will know that you was there for your mom and fought to the last minute.
On the other hand if she will make it you will be the happiest person knowing that you never gave up.
There are several sites you can find on the internet, books…

I’m not sure about your question, the parts you want answers for but I do have other information that should be helpful to you. Back pain is caused by a pinched nerve in the back. When a nerve is pinched it activates the muscles around it so they tighten up to trap that nerve into pain, putting pressure on the nerve to tighten up the muscles more etc. When the back muscles are tight they can press onto nerves going around your chest to make it harder to breath and they can even press onto the nerves that go to the lungs to make problems for breathing. To get rid of your back pain you have to free up the back muscles to release the trapped nerve and to get the pressure off the other nerves and here’s how to free them up:
Back:
(do while sitting)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

My daughter is 7 years old and is in Grade 2. She has been in school systems since she was 3. She has ALWAYS loved school. She is an A student and barely misses any days from school. Her Grade 1 year she only missed 3 days that whole year. But this year she has become very ill. She started with regular colds in September that she didn’t take time off of school for, but 2 weeks before Christmas she caught a gastro flu and she ended up in the ER after a week of the illness going away. She was fine after that and went back to school. She made it through the Christmas holidays with nothig, but she became sick after only one week back to school. This time she had a respitory illness (most likely H2N3?). She had a very high fever and 3 different docs at a clinic didn’t want to give her antibiotics. They did xrays, but the doctor couldn’t see the white spot that I seen on her lung. I brought her back 2 days later to be told that a radiologist looked at the xray and diagnosed pneumonia and ear infection. She missed nearly 2 weeks of school. I brought her back this past Monday, she came home crying that there are sick kids still in class and she frightened that she is going to catch something else. I feel the same, but I try play down that she will catch anything else. I can’t blame her for being so scared, but today she fought me all the way to the school and the secretary and to drag her to class. Never in 4 years have I seen her so upset. She won’t eat her lunch and snack for her anxiety is so high that she can’t eat. I don’t know what to do to calm her, I seriously have tried everything. Is there more to this than just scared of flu’s? Does my child suffer with anxiety. I know her father’s mother had/has severe anxiety. She is scared to leave the house. Is it genetic? My daughter is begging me not to take her to school tomorrow and give a day of rest at home. I know she has fully not recovered from the pneumonia, but I believe is will enough to go to school. Than she told me she just simply “hates school”. This is so not like my daughter, she loves school. I want to keep her home tomorrow, but I’m afraid now that the school knows that she is feeling like this that they may just call children’s aid thinking that something must be going on at home. I want to get into see her doctor but it takes a week for in. What can I do for her? Does she need therapy for her fears? Please help!
We live in Ontario where there has been an outbreak of viruses. She has missed 3.5 weeks of school in 6 weeks, so taking her out of school for another 2 weeks is not an option. She is also only 7. She seems to be more traumatized by her severe illnesses and is fearing that she may become ill again. She went back on Monday and Tuesday, and is more scared because the kids in her class are coughing and one is coughing so much that he has almost vomited several times. I am more concerned at our school system. Why would a school allow any child to come to school when they are so obviously sick and contagious? Almost every child in my daughters class has been sick. my father is a smoker for years…he is 41 and he thinks he has lung cancer. he wont go to the doctors though, because he is scared it actually might be cancer. i know..stupid.
He has been feeling this pain in his back just under his right shoulder blade for about 7 months. Not constant, but every now and then when he takes deep breaths. smokers cough, but not every five minutes or anything. Not any bloody mucaus, i dont think. he actually has been gaining a little weight rather than loosing like lung cancer symptoms say and still has his appetite.
I know no one can diagnose him but it would clear my mind for now with other options, than cancer. He said he would let me set up an appt. after thanksgiving. please ease my mind untill then, if you can.
i dont think it is COPD. My father in-law has that and my dad doesnt seem to have those symptoms…

ask doc to do chest xray and see what shows or doesn’t
then you will know for sure

Dont use WebMD. You’ll leave that site thinking you’re going to die a painful death in 2 weeks. I’m a doctor, but I do not specialize in back pain. You probably pulled a muscle in your back. There are some that can cause a lot of pain/discomfort just from breathing. If it is still bothering you in 3 days, go get it checked. But you probably do not have lung cancer.

Doctors normally do give results in person.Can’t tell by that.When my wife was called in,they told her to bring me with her.That’s when we knew.
