Hi! A close family member of mine was diagnosed with cancer and Regenerative medicine was proposed to us. Since it is very expensive i would like to know how effective it is.
Medical history of patient: Lung cancer that was surgically removed 3 years ago, had chemotherapy for 6 cycles. Middle of november 2008 was diagnosed as having a metasthasis to the brain.
Our problem now is very heavy and i would really appreciate it if an expert or someone who has had an experience with regenerative medicine could get in touch with us.
Anyway, i’d also like to say that nothing can match the effectiveness of prayers 
as it is still a miracle that the patient is still with us and I thank God everyday for that

i personally dont believe it has a beneficial effect. most doctors say it will help but statistics say a majority of cancers come back after they do treatment.
have you noticed how its still there with all the treatment? Vitamin B17 is starting to come to light as the cure for cancer (not in america of course). and they have many cures overseas. i shouldnt be saying this considering my training, but the american medical system of doctors should not be your source for learning about cancer.

You cannot believe what took place. I posted some questions here concerning my mom’s battle with breast cancer and the many problems she encountered along the way. Mom was a fighter,she gave everything she had to fight the good fight but in the end ,it just wasn’t enough.My mom under went all but one chemo treatment. She begin to get ill, she entered the hospital,it was discovered she has blood clots in her lungs,suffered a small stroke, the doctors fully expected her to have some set backs,but no one was ready for what happen some 7 days later,my mom suffered a massive stroke,it killed her every brain cell,her eyes were closed,when i opened them they seem to suggest she was in a state of shock. My mom was in coma,was never expected to recover or get better. We decided to take her off of life support, my mom lived 2 hours before she passed on. I just wanted to thank each and every one of you who took time out of your busy days and offered many answers I had about cancer and what mom was going through. You guys helped me with answers and advise that only others with cancer or being a care giver for someone with a cancer patient. , thank each of you for all you did. When mom was told she had cancer,we were assured she had 5-7 years of life ahead of her. I thank you all for all your help.. I now have to carry on. Has anybody else ever had this happen ? One day your loved one is here,the next they pass on.Special thanks to all of you……….Julia!

Its always hard to go through tramatic things like that, however even if you dont know the person your heart goes out to them.
My mom was in acoma for about 6 months after a terrible accident in 2001, She has had 2 strokes being in the hospital and no longer remembers anything. They had to teach her how to eat, talk, walk…etc. She is still alive today, but My Brothers and Sisters are not aloud to go see her as she doesnt remeber us and she had a panic attack the last time we were there. that wa the first time my brother and I had seen her since we were 3 and 5 years old because she gave us up to my dad after the state of WA told her to get rid of her boyfriend or we had to leave. I haven’t seen or talked to her since then. She is now 44 years old
I know it is not the same but I just wanted you to know that life isnt like it is in movies for everyone.

The BATTLE Continues: Fighting Lung Cancer
The BATTLE grant consists of an “umbrella trial” plus four phase II clinical trials. To be eligible for the BATTLE trials, patients must have a diagnosis of stage IIIB, stage IV, or advanced, incurable non-small cell lung cancer, confirmed by tumor biopsy and/or fine-needle aspiration, and have received at least one chemotherapy regimen. Umbrella Trial All patients who meet the eligibility criteria are enrolled in the Umbrella trial and undergo a tumor biomarker analysis, the results of which determine assignment to one of the four phase II clinical trials. The goal is to assign a patient to the clinical trial that offers the best benefit based on the characteristics of his/her tissue biomarker profile; in other words, treatment is individualized. Clinical Trials The primary objective of each of the four phase II clinical studies is to determine after the second cycle of treatment (eight weeks) if the patient’s disease has progressed. This will be determined by chest X-ray, CT or MRI scan, and optional re-biopsy of the tumor. Patients with no progression of disease will continue on the treatment. Patients whose disease has progressed will not be eligible to continue treatment on that particular study, but will be eligible to pursue other treatments, such as one of the other BATTLE clinical trials: Erlotinib (Tarceva™): Patients will be treated with erlotinib once daily without interruption. I have recently lost my mom to breast cancer on 12/4/2010. My mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer summer of 2003. They took the tumor out and she was cancer free for 2 years. Unfortunately we did not do any research or know anything about cancer until it was to late. I spent hours and hours looking for a survivor. This was the end of my mom’s 5 years… her cancer came back in 2005, but this time on her lungs. She did chemo and 2 tumors were almost gone and the third one was about the same. Her oncologist said my mom was going to be ok. That the tumors were not that bad… I ignored all the information i studied on line. Then June of this year, the tumors started growing, the clinical trials did not work and neither did the second round of chemo. Also a tumor came on her brain. She went to Reno to have to have the gamma knife to remove the tumor. We found a place in Mexico called Issels… they have hundreds of testimonials of curing terminal cancer patients. We gave it a shot, she left for 4 weeks in August. When she got home she started having major migraines… and the worst happened. In 2 1/2 months the cancer stole m mom from me. She had 13 tumors on her brain, one in her spine, sinus, kidney, and had 3 on the surface of her skin. Her new oncologist gave us hope, i truly think my mom knew it was the end. She did radiation everyday on her back and brain for 4 weeks, and started 2 types of chemo… she withered away.
On thanksgiving we went to the ER because she was coughing so bad, they said she had an ammonia … i was still in denial thinking she was going to be ok.
I don’t mean to go on and on… i’m just still trying to cope with this. So i was just wondering if there is anyone out there that is a survivor from metastasis breast cancer…. has anyone personally been treated at Issels??? I hate to believe that place is a scam.

There are plenty of people who survive for some time with stage 4 breast cancer the question is for how long, as it is not curable and her doctor should have told her that. I cannot imagine any doctor saying lung mets of any size are “not that bad.”
Any place that uses testimonials and claims to cure incurable disease is a scam.

A court case pertaining to the compensation for asbestos victims is due to begin in the High Court. The case is likely to ensure if it is mandatory for insurers to pay damages from sufferer’s first exposure to asbestos or from when they fall sick
The case is to do with a particular type of insurance called liability insurance that employers take out to insure them against legal action by staff injured at work. Several companies are trying to claim that the liability insurance policies that they previously sold were only triggered when employees or former employees developed the disease, rather than at the time they were initially exposed to asbestos; at the time they were not aware of the threat.
The Unite trade union, which is backing workers exposed to the substance, said the insurance companies were trying to dodge their liabilities, whilst solicitors for the industry argued that it was common sense they should be liable from the time that the patients became ill. The retrospective nature of the court case is expected to cost insurers millions of pounds because cases as far back as 1970 are coming to light.
The case is an insurance company’s worst nightmare. A painful and prolonged disease that often results in death caused by an individual working every day with a substance that no one knew was potentially deadly. The insurance companies were not able to give different premiums or protect themselves from risk; no one was aware of the dangers posed by asbestos.
The companies also argue that workers could have been employed by several organisations that required them to deal with asbestos during their career. The ABI stressed insurers who were currently providing employers’ liability insurance would continue to pay out from the moment employees were first put at risk. Unions, meanwhile are accusing insurers of trying to protect their profits at the expense of cancer suffers and their families.
Whatever the result both sides have stated that should they lose they will take their case to the House of Lords, the highest appeals court in the United Kingdom.
This surely, however, is the first of what could be a catalogue of insurance claims and court battles as every day people handle substances the long-term impact of which are not yet known. It is a difficult situation that brings ‘common sense ‘- as the insurance companies see it – into conflict with various legal precepts, all of which is confused by the emotional suffering of the families of those who have fallen ill. The case, more than any other, highlights the importance of a good life insurance policy, whatever line of work you are in.
