I already have the more serious problems for example, digestive problems and my stomach and intestines swelled, my hands are numb, always tired, headaches, nauseous, lightheaded, feel weak, shakey, pain in my abdomin, hard to fully expand lungs. I honestly don’t know if this is from black mold or not but i know that it does exist in my room. My question is can it cause any mental illnesses?

I have not seen blood diamond, although I probably will now that I have heard of it. I agree that white people buy more diamonds and I think it is terrible. I worded the question the way I did because I thought it would get more responses Than the first one I posted. I really wish people would read closely and not get as confused about the Irony. By the way white people buy so many diamonds beacause love, marrage, and divorce, are considered a large part of the gross domestic product (GDP) and that is a whole different oppresion conspiracy.

is there any truth to these and if so where are they from? they’re very interesting.

They were made up by Darkcastle Entertainment for the movie. Just fictional. If you own the DVD for the movie the back stories of each are explained in the bonus features. There is no historical reference to these signs. I’m guessing what you posted is someone took it upon themselves to write a little story to go with each one.
The only thing resembling a black zodiac is a reference in the Necronomicon, but the signs are completely different than the movie.

I’ve been smoking about half a pack a day for a little over 2 months … just wondering what effect it’s had on my lungs. How long does it take for them to turn black? Is that something that happens to people who’ve been smoking for decades or does it happen faster? I want my lungs to be healthy.

It depends on the person and how they smoke. Many smokers do not inhale into their lungs and therefore do not get black lungs, but rather can cause more problems with their throats. My mom smoked for about 20 years and her lungs did not show much evidence of that fact. The best way to ensure healthy lungs is to quit smoking.

It sounds like a stupid question I know, but we’ve really passed it off for a long time until recently someone brought it up and said it could be asbestos. It’s in our shower.. It’s not pitch black, it doesn’t really have texture, it just looks like a dark liquid has soaked into our wall.
Our home is a trailer, so it’s not drywall, it’s that old and thin panel wood they simply nail to the planks. I’m thinking it’s just the moisture from the shower soaking into the wall but if it’s mold, fungus, or worse; asbestos, I’d like to know.
I know it’s hard to tell from just a description but we don’t have a digital camera on hand to show it.
If it is potentially dangerous, how should we go about cleaning it?
Spare me the “Just don’t live there” or the “Get a new shower/wall” answers.
If it can be cleaned, that’s all I need to know.

That sounds like a mold growing there. Try a little bleach water or if your afraid the bleach will ruin the finnish of the wall,there are fungicides/mildewsides available at the hardware store. If this area is moist all the time or perhaps only when the shower is used, then you have a leak you’ll have to track down and repair. otherwise, you’ll never get rid of the mold.

idk if the 10 cig thing is true but black and milds are definitely worse. Smoking weed doesn’t even give u cancer… it’s never been proven by itself i’m pretty sure. either way, it’s not a very high risk.

Ok. None of the windows in my apartment open. There is no ventilation system in the bathroom. And the way the shower is set up it’s impossible to keep the water in the shower. Theres a ledge that the water leaks off of and there aren’t any plastic walls on the shower it’s literally a hose attached to a shower head over a foot basin. The walls are painted. It’s horrible. We try to clean it every week. But we discovered a huge black spikey patch of mold that’s actually pushing up the uncaulked tiles our landlord set in. We REALLY want out of our lease for this and several other reasons. The electric work alone is a fire hazard. We have one three pronged outlet in the whole apartment, the rest are all two pronged, and the plugs fall out because everything is so old and worn. There’s asbestos in the basement. And several other problems. We have until Nov on our current lease. BUT we need out. NOW. Advice please?

Dang! Write a letter to the landlord. Take some pictures and send them to him. Tell him that you are calling the local legal aid organization, the Health Department and the Building Division. Tell him the environment is unsafe for you and future renters. Make sure you document, document, document!

Spots on the lung are never a good thing. It doesn’t necessarily mean cancer, but it’s nothing to ignore and it could be very serious.
