You will find that accurate information about these statistics are difficult to impossible to obtain. Much depends on who is reporting and recording this information. We found that with rare and childhood cancers statistics by county and state remain flawed and not current. About the only childhood cancer that is tracted remains Leukemia . .which not surprisingly is the most common and the one that has the best chance for survival. Statistics kept for children and adolescents are not accurate. We found this out when they failed to record any of the information available about our son who died from sarcoma. We had to insist that the records be changed to record exactly the disease he passed away from . . so at least one record is correct (they just recorded he died from ‘cancer’ and never specified what it was).
If you go by what Michigan statistics indicate . . they claim about 300 children are newly diagnosed in a year and about 52 die . . of course this does not account for how many children are currently in active treatment . . it could total up to a thousand.
You can check with the NCI SEER Pediatric statistics . .they break some down by state . . however the statistics are dated.

Right now, I am currently a 4.0 student at FSU, have never gotten anything under an A yet, not even an A-. I am two for two on Presidents’ and Deans’ Lists, and have won a microeconomics award for top 10 out of 522 students. I also hold 3 community service awards, one being the member of an organization with the most hours completed in a semester. I don’t know if any if this will help, but I’m throwing this all out their in case their are benefits from this. I am looking to study business and economics, possibly even entrepreneurship (or at least 2 of the 3). My family currently makes under 25,000 a year, so Fafsa is basically paying for my school. My mom is also in chemo for the rest of my life (dad is not in the financial picture currently) for lung cancer. If their are any ways that I could get a scholarship, benefits (from my achievements, or even hardships that I am going through), or any discounts that would not cost my family more money, please inform me. I would like to travel anywhere out of the U.S.

If Republicans get their way, eventually the majority of Americans will be working in factories, making $ 2 an hour, and the environment in the US will be even worse than that of China, with smog and ozone levels that are beyond anyone’s recommended safety level and Americans dying left and right of black lung disease and cancer.

SSI is for people without enough work credits
when you applied for SSDI you got what you were eligible for & you have more than would have if you were only eligible for SSI & not SSDI
There is not any “extra money” you can get by apply for SSI when already on SSDI

I have been told by my MD. That I defiantly qualify to grow 15 plants and possess up to 1-1/2 pounds of marijuana at any given time.
Along with this law in Washington state is one that allows me (the grower) to grow for 1 other medical patient.
My question: If the patient were to die, then I will have over the 1-1/2 pound allowed in my sole possession.
Any legal advice from a professional & your point of view. What do I do burn it?

Also: Are you aware that hemp oil has been found to control and get rid of melanoma mole from ones face or other body part, just by rubbing a drop on it for a time?
Are you aware that hemp oil has treated and cured a man with lung cancer dying on his death bed? Another with terminal cancer cured?
It only takes one drop per day from what I know to cure and prevent cancer from developing.
Please do your study’s and get the word out of this plants property’s and benefits.
Ps. I have also recently found out that a person that had to take insulin shots on a daily bases was able to take no more with just one drop ingested per day.

Susie, If you do a bit of research you will find why the majority voted for medical reasons. Would you prefer to take harder drugs codeine, morphine etc that have a lot more negative effects? The pharmaceuticals do not want this legal, because the plant cannot be patented and would loose sales. They don’t care about you so much, but do about the money they would loose.
People want an alternative to hard drugs. Marijuana is only a class 1 drug. The benefits outweigh the risk in many categories where the patient is not terminal. That is why they are passing bills for medical marijuana use. More states will be coming onboard for the same purpose.
Susie, The reason I may be allowed to grow (which the doctor does not currently have my medical records but will shortly) it is because of the peoples choice. Majority vote here in Seattle. As an organic grower and not knowing what people do with there marijuana plants that I would use turns me off to the idea. I don’t want to be filling my lungs or stomach with harmful chemicals.
Unfortunately there are people that are scamming on this. I would have to agree that it is a open door for drug dealers. why are you allowed to grow it. what is wrong with you? I don’t think people should be allowed unless they are very ill. Just wondering because i know someone that can because he has asthma. I think that is BS. Just wondering if you are one of those scammers. EDIT…… Amazing, that long paragraph and i still didn’t get a answer to my question. Mesothelioma is touted as deadly because most of the cases are diagnosed when in advanced stage and doctors have little solace to offer by then. Still doctors try to do their best to relieve the patients from severe pain of mesothelioma using advanced treatments.
Surgery Before considering surgery as one of the propositions for the treatment of malignant cancer, the health of the patient needs to be carefully evaluated. The tests are performed to check whether the cancer has spread to other parts of the body or not. Also evaluation of the patient’s lung and heart functions is done. In case of the former, a mesothelioma surgery cannot be performed. Both the heart and lungs need to be properly functioning state for surgery to take place.
Surgery is of two types: aggressive surgery (long-term control) and palliative procedures (relief of symptoms). Let’s define each of them separately.
Aggressive surgery Aggressive surgery involves removal of the lung, the pleura, the diaphragm and the pericardium by a procedure, which is known as extra pleural pneumonectomy. The intention to follow this method is to physically remove as much of the tumor as possible. It is in fact adopting a bold method to do away with the disease�”hence the name is “Aggressive surgeryâ€. This surgery is extremely complicated and involves high risk. This is because of the fact that there are possible chances of death due to the same within a month. Extra pleural pneumonectomy is therefore normally performed on younger patients who are in good health and are in a position to tolerate the surgery.
Palliative Procedures Palliative procedures are normally performed when the cancer is in its advanced form. These procedures are performed to control the symptoms of mesothelioma rather than cure them. Pleurectomy (also decortications) is the process to surgically remove the pleura. This method reduces the pain caused by the cancerous mass and may also prevent the recurrence of pleural effusion (fluid collection which causes tremendous breathlessness). For patients suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma, complete surgical removal of the entire tumor is not entirely possible. In this case the surgery aims to extenuate the symptoms, such as ascites,
Chemotherapy Chemotherapy is the method in which drugs are used to treat mesothelioma. It has been observed that this method is partially succesfull. This is because the patient recovers partially after using drugs or combination of drugs (In fact the efficacy of this method increases, if combination of drugs are used at the same time.) Some of these combinations have proved successful and new drugs are being developed for the treatment of this cancer.
Radiation Therapy In this method the tumor is killed by using radiation doses. However, with the help of this procedure, killing the tumor cells is quite difficult. This is because of the fact that it is difficult to specifically locate the malignant cells. Also the heart, lungs and other organs may surround the same, and they are at the risk of getting damaged by the radiation dosage. However lower doses of radiation can be used to reduce the disease to a certain extent.
Dual Therapy Both chemotherapy and radiation are used in conjunction after the performance of the surgery. They both help in killing any remaining tumor cells that were not removed by surgery and may also help in relieving symptoms of the disease like chest pain.
The treatment methods, which are described above, are direct ways of treating a person suffering from mesothelioma. However doctors and researchers are always on the lookout for new ways to treat mesothelioma. The necessity for the evolution of alternative ways to treat patients suffering from mesothelioma arises because of the complex nature of different types of cancers, and because patients respond differently to various types of medical care. Some of them are as follows:
Immunoagumentive Therapy (IAT) The goal of IAT is to strengthen the body’s own immune system. The same is done by balancing four different proteins found in the blood.
Intraoperative Photodynamic Therapy (IPT) This method of treatment is being used to cure early stages of mesothelioma in the chest. IPT uses special drugs and light to kill cancer cells during surgery. A drug that makes tumor cells more sensitive to light is injected into a vein several days before surgery. During surgery, a special light is used to locate the cancer.
