Entry from: Prague, Czech Republic Entry Title: “Don’t steal from St. Mary!” Entry: “-Woke up in Hostel Elf -Went to Old Town and walked around -Went up in the clock tower and had an amazing view of the city! -Grabbed lunch at a little shop (our first salad in a long time! we were both craving some healthy food…) -Went on free walking tour – had a great guide. -Took us through Old Town, New Town, The Powder Bridge, The Jewish District, The Concert Hall, and St. Charles Bridge. -Went back to Hostel Elf to get our bags, which we had stored there all day. On the way we stopped at the bus station to buy our bus ticket to Munich. -Headed back to tram station to head towards our couch surfing host Adam’s house. We got to the station he said to meet him at, and realized it was huge! (3 underground exits, 2 tram stops, and a bus line). After trying to figure out where to go (because Ramona would seem to find any satellites), we got a hold of Adam on the phone. Easily made it to his house after that. -We went out to the pubs with Adam. It was his friends birthday. It was really fun except they all smoked like chimneys, and we probably both have lung cancer now… -Went back to Adam’s and went to bed.” Read and see more at: www.travelpod.com Photos from this trip: 1. “Walking into the city” 2. “A cool …

if you want it for scaring the crap out of your cousins, do not place the filters int othe mask, azbestos or not.
i guess if there were any poisonous material within, the Czech Army would have already figured it out, with its at least 20 years of operating that mask.

Do the Czech M10M gas mask filters contain asbestos?
Question by Nicholas: Do the Czech M10M gas mask filters contain asbestos?
I recently bought one and I looked at the filter manufacture dates. My filters were made in 1989. Is this safe? I installed them and started breathing only to get nauseated afterward.

Most likely not, but the only way to know for sure is to have the filters tested. There are no good records of such manufacturing. Better would be to throw the filters away and buy some filters that did not expire around 15 years ago. Any filter more than 5 years old needs to be replaced.

Following a legal dispute with his sister-in-law, Havel decided to sell his 50% stake in the Lucerna Palace on Wenceslas Square, a legendary dance hall built by his grandfather Václav Havel. In a transaction arranged by Marián Čalfa, Havel sold the estate to Václav Junek, a former communist spy in France and leader of soon-to-be-bankrupt conglomerate Chemapol Group, who later openly admitted he bribed politicians of Czech Social Democratic Party.[9]
In December 1996 the chain smoking Havel was diagnosed as having lung cancer.[10] The disease reappeared two years later. He later quit smoking. In 1996, Olga, beloved by the Czech people and his wife of 32 years died of cancer. Less than a year later Havel remarried, to actress Dagmar Veškrnová.[11]
The former political prisoner was instrumental in enabling the transition of NATO from being an anti-Warsaw Pact alliance to its present inclusion of former-Warsaw Pact members, like the Czech Republic. In the interests of his country, he advocated vigorously for the expansion of the military alliance into Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic.[12][13]
Havel was re-elected president in 1998 and underwent a colostomy in Innsbruck when his colon ruptured while on holiday in Austria.[14] Havel left office after his second term as Czech president ended on February 2, 2003; Václav Klaus, one of his greatest political opponents, was elected his successor on February 28, 2003. Margaret Thatcher writes of the two men in her foreign policy treatise, Statecraft, reserving greater respect for Havel, whose dedication to democracy and defying the Communists earned her admiration.[15][16][17]
