A person I love have stage 3 or maybe 4 colon cancer و she made a surgery for cancer in the ovarian and uterian , she has small nodes in the colon and by the way she also removed part of the colon in the surgery 2 .. any way the doc told Us that her sucess rate is 80 percent . I don’t know a lot about this but I know that chemo is her best shot if she doesn’t do that then she could get her whole colon taken out before the cancer spreads. Do you know for how long she has had the cancer? You could always ask the doctors. The doctors won’t do anything unnecessary and they really do want to help.The best person you could ask is the doctor. He went to school for this.

The best way is wind sprints. Sprinting certain types of runs, like green bays, develops the lungs and increases the endurance of your muscles.
Sprint 100 meters, then recover for 10 seconds. Sprint 90 meters, then recover for 10 seconds… So forth until you get to 10 meters. Take a quarter mile jog to relax, then go back and do it again. I promise after two weeks, you’ll be so in health, it’ll be rediculous.

the FDA won’t allow it to be used because of patent issues?
The side effects are very dangerous, but it is very, VERY rare to experience them, and you should be monitored by a doctor while under treatment…..although if you are in America, no doctor can treat you with it due to legal issues. Red tape is keeping people sick.

Exactly what patent issues is the FDA dealing with. That is not their role. Do you have any source on this other than Wikpedia?
Keep this in mind, it really is in everyone’s best interest to combat cancer because it hits everyone, including those in decision making roles in the FDA and their loved ones, and they realize that too. I really dont buy all of these conspiracy theories.

Actually! I don’t think it does work at all! My Mom had Pancreatic Cancer and she had Chemotherapy and it possibly helped her stay alive longer, but eventually yes….they will pass on!

Cost effective Osteosarcoma treatment in India
Osteosarcoma treatment in India is performed by expert surgeons at some of the best hospitals in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai. Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer, and the sixth most common type of cancer in children. Although other types of cancer can eventually spread to parts of the skeleton, Osteosarcoma is one of the few that actually begin in bones and sometimes spread (or metastasize) elsewhere, usually to the lungs or other bones. Osteosarcoma treatment in India is the best option for the foreign patients as its a very cost effective treatment here. Patients with Osteosarcoma are best managed by a medical oncologist and an orthopedic oncologist experienced in managing sarcomas. Current standard treatment is to use neoadjuvant chemotherapy (chemotherapy given before surgery) followed by surgical resection. Standard therapy is a combination of limb-salvage orthopedic surgery when possible (or amputation in some cases) and a combination of high dose methotrexate with leucovorin rescue, intra-arterial cisplatin, adriamycin, ifosfamide with mesna, BCD, etoposide, muramyl tri-peptite (MTP). Rotationplasty is also another surgical technique that may be used. Ifosfamide can be used as an adjuvant treatment if the necrosis rate is low. An effective immune system is really not helpful on its own in destroying cancer. For the immune system to do anything, it has to be able to recognise the cancer cells as such. To the immune system a cancer cell looks just like a normal healthy cell – no matter how strong the immune system is. Research is ongoing in developing “cancer vaccines” that are able to trigger immune responses against various cancer types.

My father has stage IV Lung Cancer, that spread to his brain, ( the tumor was larger than an egg, 5 sonometers), that was removed, but the cancer is in numerous other places. He started Chemo last week, and has had no side effects, does this mean the treatments are not working? I am very concerned. Radiation is not an option at this point. His oncologist said that it would be irrational to begin radiation. Please help me understand.
He is on Taxol and Carboplatin every third week for 6 treatments.

Generally most chemotherapy has side effects. My husband has terminal pancreatic cancer and has had 4 rounds of chemotherapy.
As the chemotherapy you mention was started only last week-perhaps the side effects have not showed themselves yet. There are many types of chemotherapy-and each drug has its benefits and side effects. Hopefully the chemotherapy will slow down the progression of your father’s disease.

I asked a question this morning about whether people should be allowed to tell people on this board to quit chemo and try alternative medications, or if it was a dangerous practice that should be banned. A couple responders claimed that these treatments do work, but when I challenged them to show me some scientific evidence, nobody did. Can anyone show me evidence these treatments are effective cures?
