the guy i know have severe edema, its almost closing his eye on the right side, but the left side is normal. he has laryngeal cancer and im sure thats whats causing it, how i dont know. but the edema is so severe and it looks serious, like he has a small water balloon under his eye.
basically my question is, can edema alone kill? or can you live with it

Edema can kill if it is in the lungs, or so severe that it is cutting off blood flow to parts of the body. The laryngeal cancer could have spread to his lymph nodes, especially if he isn’t being treated for his condition. If you are worried about him, which it sounds like you are, but having trouble confronting him about it, just go with honesty. Tell him you are worried about him and ask him if he has seen his doctor for the issue. If he hasn’t seen a doctor recently, strongly advise him to do so. I hope he’ll be okay. Best of luck.
