A couple of months ago i adopted a cat from the cats protection league. she is now starting to go out but she seems to always go up onto my cement bonded asbestos garage roof to go to the front of my house. When i call her back in, she goes on the roof to get back to my back door. Can she get asbestos fibers from the roof which is not broken on her paws.

As long as the shingles are unbroken there is no danger of that. there is a danger of her slipping off the roof.

Highly unlikely. The fibres are only released when the asbestos is damaged/broken, even if she scratched it repeatedly the likelyhood of any fibres being released are remote.

symptoms: Pain in the upper abdomen on the right side; the pain may extend to the back and shoulder,Swollen abdomen (bloating), Weight loss, Loss of appetite and feelings of fullness,
Weakness or feeling very tired, Nausea and vomiting, Yellow skin and eyes, and dark urine from jaundice, Fever.
if she/he refuses the treatment the cancer will grow up and the liver will stop working, leading to a system failure. sorry

My aunt is 53 and has been suffering from cancer for about 4 years, she has undergone radiation and kimo treatment for breast, liver and a couple other places and has fought hard through it. She has been doing great for the last few months until recently when they found her to have cancer in her brain, they started radiation treatment this last month and she’s been having a hard time with it.
She was found unconscious this morning and rushed by ambulance to the hospital where they put her in ICU. The doctors said her organs were beginning to shut down and gave her children two options; to let her die or to work with her aggressively. Her children asked them to work with her and they rushed her over to the shock-trauma unit where they are hoping she will be a little better by morning.
I am close with my aunt and I am having a really hard time with this. I want to ask to go see her but with my cousins going through this shock I don’t want to stress anyone out even more by treading where I shouldn’t at such a sensitive time. I really, really want to see her right away if she might not make it.
Is there a chance she’ll pull through this? Or, is she going? If so, how much time?

Your cousins should let the family come and say good-bye to her.
If you are asking if she can be cured the answer is no.
No way of knowing how much time she has. If your cousins insist and she has not made her wishes known, it can be dragged out for quite awhile.

i have sracoidosis that affects my lungs. sometimes i cant breath then all of a sudden it gets better. but during my flare ups i also get flu like symptoms. then i feel fine. i am going to have this my whole life. since i dont feel sick all the time can i still apply for disability?

You have to have an impairment that is expected to last for over 12 CONTINUOUS months or result in death to be eligible. If it is something that comes and goes, each flare up is an individual occurence.

Insulation that goes on the outside of a house?

I have a house & detached garage built in the 50′s. There is no insulation in the walls and there are Asbestos shingles. Is there anything on the market that I could put on the outside of the house?
I have used the 1/2″ foam board, but don’t like it because it’s hard to make a smooth surface on top of the shingles.
Also, I’m not interested in spaying foam insulation down or up into the walls.
Any Ideas? Thnx

Take the shingles off and stack them. Then add the foam panels. Each week dump 5 to 10 of those shingle panels wrapped in plastic into your trash cans. Eventually they’ll all be gone. Took me a year to get rid of my roofing tiles.

let me clarify… is it guaranteed you’ll die from it if left untreated? Im asking because I know someone who is in prison and I’ve been told has lung cancer and that it’s not being treated.
From the little I’ve been told, it’s been made to seem like the prison isn’t doing anything for him. He was recently sick with a Staph infection (boils etc) and his family had to call and complain to get him looked at. He waited for a while. Im trying to get more info on what kind he has and if he knows it’s this serious. I dont even think his family knows it’s this serious. I didnt relized until I started reading about it and now Im panicking.
I should add he is an illegal and will be deported when he is released. Should he still be able to get treatement for this now?
Supposedly he’s been hiding the lung cancer thing from his family and they just found out. I dont think they realize how serious this is. They told me he isn’t “showing any symtoms he’s fine.” Yet I was told he was sick in Dec. with boils, his face was swelling, eye swelled shut, he could barely move, only wanted to sleep. They treated him for staph. A family member just told me last week about the lung cancer situtation. Im thinking they may not know how serious it is and think it’s “beatable” like other cancers. I will admit I was ignorant to it and thought the same you hearing people surviving cancer all the time, but when I started reading about it, I was STUNNED to find out this type is the most deadliest and most die with treatment anyway.
Oh and he’s only 29. He just turned 29.

Iv’e slept in those types of tents with the diesel burning stoves in them. I literally slept with a fire extinguisher cradled in my arms. They might be flame retardant but they sure as hell are not fire proof. Also, I think the fabric is just regular canvass that is treated with a flame retardant chemical because they smell horrible.

I am raising money by selling candy (high school students can’t resist and always have a dollar in one of theirs or their friend’s pockets) and i am getting alot of money quickly.
i want to donate this money to a donation organization (anything such as the red cross, donation places like that) that almost 100% of its income actually goes to the cause they are advertising.
my teacher pointed out that some organizations roughly 20% of their years income actually goes to the cause, while the 80% goes to employees, bills and electricity, etc.
I’m not sure which foundation that was but apparently it is alot of them.
anyone know a good, reliable donation source?
I’m Christian, it would even be more of a plus if it was a Christian organization but its definately okay if its not, and also i am a huge fan for contributing the money to lung cancer, lung cancer research, etc.
but any corporation that my money actually goes to the cause will be fine! (:

Cancer is due to infection(s). We all have cancer cells in our bodies, but our immune system typically eliminates them with our humoral immunity in the lymphatic system. When infections rage, like in the teeth area, for instance where the body’s immune system cannot defend against these infections, this allows the infections to generate biofilms. These biofilms are sticky, polysaccharide sacs that surround the bacteria, virus, etc. and protect it from macrophage attacks the body musters up to defend itself. The bacteria, virus, etc. under these biofilms allow the germs to inject their DNA into the cells of the substrate causing cancer to take hold. When these biolfilms reach a size larger than 14 micro meter, they spawn new biofilms and are free to move around the body looking for weak organs and substrates where they can attach and do their damage. Breast cancer takes about 8 to 10 years to develop and one recent discovery that was done in Germany is quite illuminating.
Dr. Thomas Rau, who runs the Paracelsus Clinic (cancer clinic since 1958) in Switzerland recently checked the records of the last 150 breast cancer patients treated in his clinic. He found that 147 of them (98%) had one or more root canal teeth on the same meridian as the original breast cancer tumor. His clinic has a biological dentist section where all cancer patients, on reporting in, have their mouth cleaned up first — especially all root canal teeth removed. There are about 24 million root canals done in the U.S. alone every year.
Healthy cells have timers so they only live as long as they are needed.
Cancer cells do not have these timers and so can keep on replicating, say researchers from Cancer Research UK, writing in the journal Cell.
And they warn that if this ‘timer’ could be applied to healthy cells, slowing their ageing process, they could then become cancerous themselves. Cancer cells are adept at slipping the constraints of the ageing process.
Dr Robert Souhami, Cancer Research UK found that cell ageing is controlled by strips of DNA at the end of chromosomes. These DNA strips, called telomeres, get shorter every time a cell divides until there is nothing left – and the cell knows it is time to die. But cancer cells have ways of blocking the ageing process. It was known that many use an enzyme called telomerase to rebuild their telomeres. However, scientists knew this could not be the only mechanism, as cancer cells can achieve immortality without it.
Once the onca genes in a cancer cell turn on, the cellular growth is incredibly fast and going unchecked by the immune system, it is easy to see why cancer can take over a body rapidly.

I need to know how many times do patient goes under diagnosis (cancer test) while being under treatment for cancer?
I understand it all varies depending upon type of cancer and stage of disease. But still need to get round about figure.
I also need to know how much time normally cancer treatment lasts. This again can be average/round about figure as mentioned earlier.

While undergoing treatments for cancer, each patients has blood drawn before the next treatments to tell the doctor if the chemo has killed cells, which is does, and how many. It determines how low the numbers have gotten since the last treatment. It’s an ongoing process. They have to continually draw blood. It’s the only way they know if treatment is successful or not.
Treatments also vary according to the type of cancer. Some people only have to go twice for treatments as did a friend of mine because her tumor in her breast came back benign, but the first time it was malignant. So the doctor wanted her to have just 2 treatments in order to kill any cancer cells that may have been there undetected. Others can have full treatments. between 6-8 and like I said depending on the type of cancer, may have to have treatments as many as 3 or 4 times. Separate times that is. It’s a difficult question to answer because there are over 200 different types of cancer. Cancer is just one term for a broad use of the word cancer. See the problem? Hope that helps anyway.
