I am 20 and on Monday. I originally went to my doctor for a swollen lymph node on the left side of my neck that I discovered 4 months ago without any symptoms that would indicate lymphoma except for the lump, and that same morning I was to go to the doctor I came down with a sore throat.
Anyway he checked my swollen lymph node and prescribed me antibiotics, asked me a series of question on if I have allergies and referred me to get a chest X-ray to make sure its not lung cancer, took a blood test to check for infection or Leukemia. He also told me Worse Case Scenario would be the “C” word like lymphoma, Lung cancer, or Leukemia and I NEVER smoke or drink. Anyway the same day I came from the doctor on Monday I found two more swollen Lymph nodes one above my collar bone and the other about one is about 2 inches from my original lymph node.
Also today I have been having a congested nose and blowing out mucus, my throat is STILL sore, but not as bad as Monday and I have been having a sore dull pain on the left side of my tongue(not the surface of tounge) all the way in the back on the side and when I looked at my tongue its like I have some swelling on that side as well as some dark veiny streak and when I touch it it hurts. No pus it coming out it just hurts a little and is causing my teeth on the left side to hurt as well as my throat on the left side. I don’t know if this is normal? My jaw also hurts on the left side, but I’ve already had my wisdom teeth taken out last year cause I use to get this same pain when my wisdom teeth were coming in, but it stopped when I had them taken out. Now the pain returned a little. I don’t know what’s going? It’s just that since the doctor told me the terrifying news on what MIGHT be I have just been freaking out like crazy! Am I dying? Is this something serious? Am I truly over reacting? IS this normal?
I have been taking Advil for the pain which has been helping ALOT with the pain

Ur lymph nodes draw out infection from ur body they take in the infection which makes them swell, now it sounds like u have a throat infection which is causing the nodes , cancer doesn’t tend to affect young people seen as ur 20 u should be fine also apparently cancer ‘doesn’t hurt’ ur doctor seems a bit dramatic to tell u that with out knowing anything else/ results.
There are so many reasons why lymph node can be raised very few of which are cancer related.
So relax I’m sure U’ll be fine

I work in a soapstone factory of sorts. During the summer months, we had both end doors open with fans running, now that it is cooler, the doors are closed. The dust produced is VERY intense. It is fine, like baby poweder and we produce so much that you can’t even see 5 feet in front of you from the cloud of constant dust. We use a double filter p-100 m3 particulate mask. The dust being produced has been known to cause lung cancer and disease, so obviously I don’t want to breathe it! Will this type of mask keep all particles out? It seems to, as it molds to your face and fis tight and has two filters, but I have to be sure. Thanks

I have noticed, and have never seen a Christian whom at the news of being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer the doctor has come into the room and said “Congratulations! You’re going to die! Im so happy for you”. Then the patient should reply with “Oh wow, Thats amazing, I was wondering how Uncle Sam was doing.”.
And then all the friends and family should come into the room and congratulate them and have a really amazing party.
I think there are some Christians whom are atheists on the inside. A True Christian would greet the news of death as something joyous and wonderful, to spend eternity in exctasy and bliss. Which would be superior to a mortal existance in every way. It would make one day of Earth feel like hell in comparison.
Yet, Christians don’t do this? I wonder. Do they not really believe in their bible? Is there something in their brain that says “Nononononono”.

Everything now has been figured out except 400 million in funding for Planned Parenthood. Services provided at locations include contraceptives (birth control); emergency contraception; screening for breast, cervical and testicular cancers; pregnancy testing and pregnancy options counseling; testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases; comprehensive sexuality education, menopause treatments; vasectomies, tubal ligations.
In fact PPH does not even provide abortion but services to avoid abortions and in only very extreme cases helps those with abortion services. Only 3% of their budget goes to abortion services. It is estimated that the program saves 650,000 unwanted births a year and 200,000 abortions. Our Military families won’t get paid and won’t have health coverage if this shutdown happens and are being told they won’t be reimbursed even after a shutdown would be over. Congress needs to pull their head out of their you know what.
Regardless if there are still other issues this program should not hold up our budget process and leave our military families without pay and health coverage and ready to strike if the shutdown happens. I have friends in the military and today their check were cut in half in anticipation of the shutdown and are being told they won’t be reimbursed.
Jonathan- The money spent on abortions is 30 million total and that goes to help determine whether an abortion is the right thing for the women and to educate them . Planned parenthood does not perform abortions
PPH keeps us from spending billions later on in social programs from kids who are unwanted, who then become teenage criminals, who then become low life adults in society, and drain our social services.

A couple of weeks ago Reid was complaining that the budget cuts were going to eliminate federal support for the Cowboy Poetry Gathering held in Nevada each year.

Sarcoma is a rare and deadly cancer, so no pharmaceutical companies are working on it (they can’t make enough money to make it profitable).
Here in the US, sarcoma is treated with the same chemo we used in the 1980s. Other countries are way ahead of us on rare diseases!

Months ago, my aunt had breast cancer, the doctors removed both breasts, they made her chemotherapies and radiations. Finally they said that she wouldn’t longer have cancer.
But now she did another test and the doctor said that she had cancer in the same area, but now she hasn’t breasts, then, where is cancer?
It can be something like metastasis? do you think that the cancer is in the lungs, bones, or something like this 
?
I am desperate and would like to see answers before I know the truth.

It was a residential school. They found asbestos in the dorms, so we had to stay in a different building til they cleaned it all out. When I returned to my dorm room, I found this white powder on my belongings…like my little cart I had stuff in. Do you think it was asbestos that I touched??

I doubt it; probably sawdust, sanding dust, or even regular ole dust. The folks who remove asbestos are required by the EPA to remove the dust along with the asbestos. Touching asbestos won’t hurt you; only inhaling it.

My best friends mom was just told she has breast cancer, now they are saying it has spread to her lungs. I dont know much else, because I dont ask about it, I know how much it hurts her to talk about it. I dont know if it spread any where else. But whats going to happen ? Does she have a good chance of making it ? Shes a GREAT woman, who has been through SO much. To be honest, my mom had cancer a few years ago, and it didnt affect me as much as my best friends mom.

A naturopathic doctor saved a girls life with herbs and alternative therapy. Why is it naturopaths aren’t getting the credit they deserve in medicine.
I researched their training and their medical school is longer than conventional doctors yet they are so much more limited.
Don’t tell me they aren’t as qualified when I’ve seen them do the same course work as MDs. Conventional medicine has been around just a little over a 100 years.
While Alternatives have been around for thousands of years and much of the world (75%) is still using them.
My son was require by an MD to take speed (Rittelan) for focus at school. Over the summer I’ve done some research of my own an after talking with an herbalist he was put on 3 herbs and has no problems with focus any longer.
MD must stand for something other than medical doctor! I have a client (I own a hair salon) that had cancer and was healed by a Naturopathic doctor through the use of herbs.
Why is it people think there’s no cure for cancer? There is it’s your own body with a little help from a good herbalist or naturopathic doctor (ND)!

Because all placebo controlled studies show they do nothing.
Anecdotes don’t mean anything. They aren’t data. Naturopathy cannot stand scientific scruntiny. They aren’t doctors and they don’t actually treat anything.

In 2001 when I was 13 I was hit by a car and had to have surgery to fix a collapsed lung. My lung collapsed because one of my ribs punctured it, so I have scar tissue on my lung. I’m 21 now. In September I started smoking 2 cigarettes a day, quit once, started smoking again, and now I’m trying to quit for the second time. Lung cancer doesn’t run in my family, but I know I could still get it because of the scar tissue on my lung. What do you think the chance is that I’ll get lung cancer and how old will I probably be if I get it?

No matter if you have been hit by a car attacked my a dragon or hit in the chest with candy canes smoking is dangerouse and unhealthy to everyone! People always start low but then become more and more addicted. Cancer can happen at any time and especially with your medical history you are more vunrable you need to speak to your dr/gp and get some help to stop even if your not worrying about cancer! My dad has terminal lung cancer and dementia. Yesterday he was vomiting phlegm with blood in it and was peeing blood too. I rang an ambulance and the hospital has informed me he also has pneumonia. He is 63. His gp gave me 6 mths before the pneumonia diagnosis. Do you think he will live through this? Obvs the cancer will kill him within 6 mths but do you think pneumonia might kill him within the next few days? Its a horrid question but i want to prepare myself if need be..

I don’t think anyone here can answer that question without seeing him and looking at his medical records. Even then, often times this would just be a medical opinion.

Being tile I don’t think it will tend to give off fibers into the air like insulation would. I’d get rid of it before attempting to sell your home though, you might not have any choice.

My beloved 15 year old pomeranian has mammary cancer which has unfortunately spread to her lungs, rendering surgical removal of the tumor pointless. Other than that she is a healthy, happy girl in no pain right now and my family and I have no choice but to but her to sleep when the tumor starts to burst/bleed.
I am, no doubt, traumitised since I’ve had my dog almost my entire 18 years of life.
I feel so hopeless, helpless and in deep emotional pain. I want to do so much but there’s nothing much i do.
How long did it take you to get over the grief of losing a beloved pet?
Is there any way to ease the pain? Especially knowing that your pet needs to be put to sleep relatively soon ?

Spend as much time as you can with her, accept the fact that shell be in a better, less painful place and she’s always loved you.
I know how hard it is to lose a pet, my dog was with me from before I was born until I was 11 years old, and was my protector. I understand children get over things quicker, but just remember how much you love your dog, keep on loving her, even after she’s gone, but know that everything will be fine.

Cancer is a scary thing, just support your dad all the way no matter what
medical marijuana always helps very much, having seen friends go through cancer that have used marijuana as medicine as helped them beyond what most medicine can do for them. like helping with chemo, pain, sleeping, and appetite.
if your parents are opened minded maybe you can suggest this to your dad, you can take it other ways then just smoking it EX in pill form or even in food

Hello first post here, and a rather odd one.
Recently for the past few months i have felt a lil strange, all started in my lower region, I found a tiny lump on my right testicle,
i got it in my head i had a big problem, Testicle cancer, I went to the docs asap to get the once over and he told me it was no more than a epidermal cyst, or an appendix of the testicle.
This sunk into my head for a lil while but i started to look online, Freaked the hell out of me! So i went to the docs again this time a different doc to ask the same things, i was told to stop touching and all was fine.
Then i went a third time, This was odd for me as i had been to the doctors maybe twice in a 10 year period.
This time the doc looked again and just said its really nothing, and to stop looking on the web and worrying yourself. Which admittedly i know im doing.
After 3 visits i finally got it in my head nothing was wrong! THEN! i randomly decided to do a lil research into the symptoms of testicular cancers and where they can spread to, The main answer being the lungs, and BRAIN!
i straight away felt a lil sick knowing that as brain tumors like most people are one of my biggest worries ever!
So this is where my newest issue has come.
I started feeling very tired, mainly due to worry i know! and a lil dizzy, this i couldn’t explain, other than worry aswel.
I then had what i think was a panic attack, but it seemed to last a lil longer than most people say panic attacks last, so i think i had multiple panic attacks over a few hours.
i know instantly that i was having one just because of the sweats and huge amount of sudden fear, but it still didn’t stop me worrying about the big C
So im now at a point where i have got a small swell on the back of my head over one of those small bones alot of people have on the back of there head near the large bone in the back but to the left (sorry bad explaining) most people have one on either side of the head… :S
I went to the doctors just to check this out and i was told muscle swell, didn’t even know muscle was there but it is… Its somewhat gone down in the last 4 weeks. but still kinda there.
I have been on holiday recently and when i came back i discovered a tiny bump in the side of my neck, i think its a lymph node, sort of the size of a pea and a lil soft, not really movable mind.
i have had this about 3 weeks now and its not got any bigger, maybe a little smaller. It seems larger in the morning…
I also have another tiny lump on the other side of my neck a little lower down, this one just appeared and it kind of hurts, I have been to the doctors again about these and i was told it could be small fat build ups, lymph nodes or cysts.
Im really worried and i dont know why that it could be a sign of something in the brain, i have just got it in my head that its that mainly by looking online, Something i wish i had never done.
I dont know if neck nodes are a sign of a brain tumor or not?
I have no real headaches or anything.
i obviously have tight neck muscles from stressing. i have soooooooooo much stress with what i do for a living so that doesn’t help much.
I feel a little disconnected and un motivated, i feel mainly because i am thinking to much about my health and worrying about it.
My eyes are always blood shot! however i sleep very well. I think i have just become over aware of my body. and im feeling things that are suppose to be there.
But i just thought id make sure as i know a lot of people on here have been through issues with there head and would just like some insight into that, I feel like a total idiot asking, as i know people out there have had alot worse but i just cant seem to get this idea out of my head and its now worrying me and effecting my work which i cant allow to happen.

It’s placebo. You looked it up yourself, and convinced yourself you have a tumor. The doctors, three of them, have told you it’s nothing. Yet you go back online and re-convince yourself otherwise with knowledge that probably came from someone who DOESN’T have a medical degree.
Listen to the combined experience of three doctors, and ignore the combined idiocy that is online medical diagnosis.
You are fine. Don’t go back online and tell yourself you are not.
