Bhopal – India: In December 1984, a holding tank with 43 tonnes of stored MIC overheated and released toxic heavier-than-air MIC gas mixture, which rolled along the ground through the surrounding streets. The transportation system in the city collapsed and many people were trampled trying to escape. Around 500,000 people were exposed to the leaking tables. Approximately 20,000, to this date, are believed to have died as a result; on average, roughly one person dies every day from the effects. Over 120,000 continue to suffer and are dying from the effects of the disaster, such as breathing difficulties, cancer, serious birth-defects, blindness, gynaecological complications and other related problems.

I don’t think Union Carbide would have survived
I do believe that international corporations have a responsibility to adhere to the higher of standards of operation, between how they operate in their home country, or accepted to operate in the country of operation
“Transfer of Knowledge” should be the goal rather than Abuse of Ignorance
I agree that the ultimate responsibility in making sure that this is followed is with the host country

The difference is that it was not intentional. If you understand what terrorism is then you would know this. Wiki that one will you?
Would Union Carbide have survived in the West? Probably so, but the risks of it happening here are far lower for a variety of reasons. Better engineers, better labor laws etc. You have to remember that when any company (be it Russian, American, British, French, Japanese etc) sets up a plant they adhere to the strictest regulations in the area. Those were met and regrettably- it wasn’t enough.
My point is this- that any nation should care enough for it’s people to insist on the absolute best engineering and training available so that tragedies like these are far fewer.

I find it amusing that you would NOT use that sentence that immediately follows- especially since it serves to trash your apparent purpose of this question. But omission of facts is all part of the program. You would have readers believe that American personnel were completely responsible for this tragedy and that an American intentionally did the dirty work to kill all these people. (Stalin and Goebbels worked this sort of propaganda well- I see you know the meaning of this word.)
I said it before and I’ll say it again. If the govenment of a country cares enough to create, enforce and insist on regulations to protect it’s own people tragedies like this would be prevented.
I WILL agree that these people died needlessly. I will agree that the person who was responsible should be brought to justice. The question is- why has India’s law enforcement not stepped up to the plate to do what we must believe is it’s duty?

It is important to be moist so air cannot pass through as easily. It sounds like the patient had a pneumothorax, which is a hole in the chest cavity. It was getting harder to breathe because air was going into the cavity and can compress the lung. A tension pneumothorax can actually shift the heart and trachea and be deadly if not promptly treated.

i have a friend thats jewish and she always gets angry at me whenever i say something random like “HIE HITLER” and i wasnt even aiming my salute to her. and she gets really angry and looks like she would cry. it didnt happen any time when she was born and she’s saying stuff like “oh they could come and get me any time they want and kill me” its ILLEGAL to do that, stop worrying. half the time she’s fine, she wouldnt do anything but laugh and laugh. and then i say something about jewish people or about hitler or give myself a hitler mustache, and she’s all over with her anger. it happened years back. YEARS. i do have a little anger problem but this has nothing to do with my reation. generally, i’m a fun loving guy that would laugh even at a funeral. but my friend? noo, one word about death, jews, hitler, or anything like that and she’s just emotional. its not about girls, its just about her. not all girls are like this! i’ve seen some happy go lucky girls that wouldnt cry all over when you speak of their dead parents. my friend’s grandmother’s family got murdered by hitler. so waht? did she know them?? nooo, maybe a few pictures but never personally. just last summer my great grandpa died. i didnt even know till the following year! did i react? noooo. i though hmm too bad. but i didnt know what this guy looked like or anything like htat. would i cry?? noo. over some dead guy? people die all the time! and this guy didnt just die of old age, he had lung cancer and he died after staying in that hospital for years. oh what a sad story. who cares?!?!? its done, he’s dead. i dont cry. i might feel emotional over my dead mother or father or sister or brother but other than my friends and that i wouldnt cry over a dead person. even if it was a teacher, a far friend, or distant reletive that i knew as a kid, i wouldnt budge or quiver a lip.

Well, I am 34 years old. I have been a hospice social worker for about the last 8 years caring for those who are dying. Sadly, I had to recently go on disability due to a genetic lung problem called Cystic Fibrosis. My case is very unusual though. Most are diagnosed at birth, I was diagnosed at 18. While I am currently on disability, and have to be hospitalized 2 times per year for a ‘tune up’, my doctor says i should have a pretty normal life span. Now, money-wise, i am doing very well. I have no debt, and bring in $ 3000 per month after taxes thru disability but thru other investments as well. My health is actually slowly getting better and I hope to be working again, at least part time, in the near future. The second thing thought with CF is kids. 99% of men with CF are infertile, but not sterile. This means that i produce sperm but its trapped and cant get out (I know, maybe TMI), so for me to have kids, my wife would have to undergo IVF fertilization. The kid(s) would be ours biologically, but she would have to undergo this procedure. And also, just fyi, for a kid to get CF, not just me, but my wife would also have to be a carrier of the gene. If she is negative, which odds are she would be since CF is rare (only 30000 people in the US have it), the child born would be unaffected by my CF.
Personally, i am a spiritual guy, a loving person and dedicated. I am by no means ‘ugly’ in that I am 5 foot 8, long brown hair, 160 lbs, blue eyes and despite having CF, am in good shape as I swim lots. True be told, i actually think that having a challenge like this allows one to love more, but that is hard to expalin 
With all that said, it’s a lot, would you be willing to explore the possibility of something long term with a person like myself. Thank you in advance for reading and answering my question. It means a lot to me.

Rooney, my dear dog of 10 years was diagnosed with cancer Sunday. The vet said it was in his liver, spleen, lungs, and intestines. He only started acting odd on Friday, just not eating.
Rooney died Monday morning, and I was with him. What is bothering as much as his death is what happened. He wanted to be next to me on the bed. He put his head next to mine, and we were like that maybe 4 minutes before he kind of gasped and stopped breathing. There was no heartbeat that I could detect. Then about 15 seconds later he convulsed 4 times and then blood started coming out his ear and mouth.
Was the convulsing reflex? What about the bleeding? I want to know what was happening to him. This dog was like family to me. I really don’t understand how something like this can happen in 3 days. I’m grateful he didn’t suffer & that he wanted to be with me when he died. But I want to understand what happened after I thought he was gone. Thank you in advance for your help.

Trying to decide whether to go through chemo or ,radiation. Doctor removed entire lobe on left side,and told us he thinks he got it all… Tumor was about 21/2 centimeters,on the outside edge of the lobe.

I would go ahead with the treatment. Cancer is one of those things that has little tiny fingers that can hook on and are left behind. I am sure you Dr. did a great job and got all that he could see but I would want to be safe and do the treatments to get the little ones that may be there and are not visible. Usually treatment for this is less harsh and recovery is pretty uncomplicated. I would rather be safe than sorry!!

No, it’s not a severe infection. He may have dropped out of Dubai, but I’m sure he’ll be ready for the Indian Wells tournament, which takes place in just two weeks.

When I was 2 my father was the most enjoyable thing in my life including my mother and sister. My father was a true man named herby jr. but bad things happened. He smoked witch he had done for along time. He got his 2 kids sick all the time and the one girl now suffers from asthma. He had very bad coughing problems. Seen that he smoked he lotes of fluid in his lungs. in 1996 he passed away and went to jessus because he had brain cancer and at the time there was no cure for that. So jessus took him away from us. He left his two little girls alone including his wife. As i got older aroung the age of 5 i new he died but i didnt understand it very much. Now i am 13 and i have depresstion over my dad.
HOW WILL I GET OVER THIS DEPRESSTION AND SADNESS( i dont want to get help i only want help from this web-sight not a doctore os shrink.
Please help me im in danger!!!!!!!!?????
