A nodule is usually a small, round shadow seen on chest x-ray anywhere in the lungs. A 2 to 3 mm nodule is very small. The smaller the nodule, the less likely it is to be cancer. You should get your previous chest x-rays so they can be compared with the most recent. If this nodule was on a previous chest x-ray taken 2 or more years ago and is unchanged, no further testing is needed.
Nodules are due to infections, inflammation, or tumors. It’s possible for the pneumonia to cause a nodule directly from the infection itself or indirectly by the infection causing inflammation. A granuloma is a nodule of inflammation that can occur in any area of the body.

Oh. hunny. Please don’t feel this way! You’re not going to die, and if you do get sick, it’s obviously normal! Go to the doctor and see if you have something seriously wrong with you. Just always wash your sheets, pillow cases, hands, and bleach all your counter surfaces! No worries! You are going to be FINE! If you are well enough to write all this down, I’m sure you will be fine. It’s all in your head I’m sure.

He has been battling the lung tumor for about 2 years. Recently it has grown to 8 cm. He is currently going through Chemo to try and shrink it down. We just found out he has a 2.6 cm tumor in his upper lobe portion of the brain. He will receive 15 consecutive radiation treatments for this. First question, is 2.6 cm tumor of the brain considered large? Second, has anyone had a similar experience? What should we expect? Please, don’t “sugar coat” your answers. I want the straight truth, even if it’s not good news. Thank you.

At this point it sounds like Palliative Care. (end if life care) All they can probably do is try to make him and your family as comfortable as things can be and as things progress.All you can expect is progression of these diseases.Im not sure if that is considered large but probably a good size and its not good at all that it is in his brain. The production of this fluid occurs in the numerous little glands that are within the prostate. Like most cells in the body, the cells in these glands live for a while before dying and being replaced in an orderly fashion. However, the new cells in these glands can grow out of control and form a tumor. A tumor can either be benign, or malignant. A malignant tumor of the prostate gland is called prostate cancer.
Contrary to common belief, prostate cancer is not fatal in itself. The danger of prostate cancer is that the cancer cells may spread or ‘metastasize’ to other vital areas of the body. All kinds of cancer present this danger which occurs when cancer cells circulate through the body by way of blood or lymph. Bones, lungs, brain and lymph nodes, and cancers are common areas where the cancer cells may invade and from fatal tumors.
Prostrate cancer occur in very young men, although over 70% of prostate cancer is diagnosed in men over 65 years of age, and the majority of the other cases are found in men over 50. Since this form of cancer is normally a relatively slow growing cancer, many men afflicted with it will end up dying from some other unrelated cause before the cancer causes any serious damage.
This type of cancer often has no noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Therefore, any male over the age of 50 should regularly receive a prostate specific antigen (PSA) test. This will inform them if any early form cancer has been detected within their body. The chances of recovering from prostate cancer are very good with today’s available treatments if it is treated in the earlier stages.

I would not suggest someone have a prostate seed implant if they already had systemic disease. Assuming the metastatic disease is prostate cancer the patient would need more attention to the symptomatic mets.
