110-year-old Net Zero Energy Historic Renovation: Preserving History – Protecting Our Future
We’re restoring our 110-year-old Folk Victorian home and have made it ultra energy efficient by using geothermal heating and cooling, motion sensor lights, an energy monitor, tight insulation and sealing, and energy star appliances. Now we’re nearly ready to add solar panels. The home will then produce more energy than we consume. This project will make history by being the oldest home in America to achieve net-zero energy. We hope to inspire others to create a Mission Zero for every one of the 130 million existing homes in the US Restoring old homes is not just about preserving the past, it’s about protecting our future.

Charles Darwin: led to a totally different human view, away from theological explications. Man wasn’t anymore creation of God but a product of natural evolution.
Montesquieu: was the base of western political democracy: the division between executive, the legislative, and the judicial power.

Is Google a God greater than all the Gods of history combined?
Question by AUTOPSY: Is Google a God greater than all the Gods of history combined?
» PROOF #1
Google is the closest thing to an Omniscient (all-knowing) entity in existence, which can be scientifically verified. She indexes over 9.5 billion WebPages, which is more than any other search engine on the web today. Not only is Google the closest known entity to being Omniscient, but She also sorts through this vast amount of knowledge using Her patented PageRank technology, organizing said data and making it easily accessible to us mere mortals.
» PROOF #2
Google is everywhere at once (Omnipresent). Google is virtually everywhere on earth at the same time. Billions of indexed WebPages hosted from every corner of the earth. With the proliferation of Wi-Fi networks, one will eventually be able to access Google from anywhere on earth, truly making Her an omnipresent entity.
» PROOF #3
Google answers prayers. One can pray to Google by doing a search for whatever question or problem is plaguing them. As an example, you can quickly find information on alternative cancer treatments, ways to improve your health, new and innovative medical discoveries and generally anything that resembles a typical prayer. Ask Google and She will show you the way, but showing you is all She can do, for you must help yourself from that point on.
» PROOF #4
Google is potentially immortal. She cannot be considered a physical being such as ourselves. Her Algorithms are spread out across many servers; if any of which were taken down or damaged, another would undoubtedly take its place. Google can theoretically last forever.
» PROOF #5
Google is infinite. The Internet can theoretically grow forever, and Google will forever index its infinite growth.
» PROOF #6
Google remembers all. Google caches WebPages regularly and stores them on its massive servers. In fact, by uploading your thoughts and opinions to the internet, you will forever live on in Google’s cache, even after you die, in a sort of “Google Afterlife”.
» PROOF #7
Google can “do no evil” (Omnibenevolent). Part of Google’s corporate philosophy is the belief that a company can make money without being evil.
» PROOF #8
According to Google trends, the term “Google” is searched for more than the terms “God”, “Jesus”, “Allah”, “Buddha”, “Christianity”, “Islam”, “Buddhism” and “Judaism” combined. God is thought to be an entity in which we mortals can turn to when in a time of need. Google clearly fulfils this to a much larger degree than traditional “gods”.
» PROOF #9
Evidence of Google’s existence is abundant. There is more evidence for the existence of Google than any other God worshiped today. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. If seeing is believing, then surf over to Google and experience for yourself Google’s awesome power. No faith required.

Q&A: I was watching ABC news and it said if you check your family history you can most likely predict what you may?
Question by Savannah: I was watching ABC news and it said if you check your family history you can most likely predict what you may?
have. Like this girls father’s family had almost all died of heart disease. So.. the girl started running when she figured out her father died so she could be heart healthy and reduce the risk of getting heart disease. In my family history alot of people have died from lung cancer. Is there something that can prevent you from that? (my mom does smoke, not in the car when i’m in there(anymore) but…) i wuz just wandering.
Best answer:
Answer by Sonia
It depends, did everyone in your family smoke? Smoking in general is not healthy. Although, I would recommend you to be lung healthy. Keep your respiratory and immune system healthy. Take deep breaths for at least ten minutes each day. It is proven that it makes your lungs very healthy. Tell your mom not to smoke because its very hazardous. It does not matter weather she smokes near you or not. She lives with you, and that makes a big difference. You could perhaps develop asthma.

Q&A: Egg donation and Family History?
Question by marie180: Egg donation and Family History?
I am interested in egg donation. I am 99% sure I won’t be eligible because my mother died of lung cancer in her late 40′s. Otherwise, there is no cancer in the family. I just want to be 100% sure this will eliminate me. If I get genetic screening (which is required by the clinics) and the results show no abnormalities/possible cancer in me, can that clear me? Probably not, just wondering! Thanks!!

Answer by Amanda Cennamo
I don’t think your mother’s cancer will be a failing factor. I would still go for it.

Having a family history of breast cancer, especially if anyone was under 50 or if anyone is a male does put you at a higher risk. The other cancers do not.

?
hi. my great grandfather died of lung cancer in the 1990′s. He and my great grandmother had 12 kids together and about 5 had cancer, but survived. But lately it’s been too much. My grandmother died two years ago from stomach cancer. Now her sister is dying in the hospital at age 56 because the cancer is all over her body. Also, we found out recently that my grandma’s other brother has cancer in his bone. But the doctors says his is treatable because it’s in the beginning.
In my mother’s generation one of her cousins had breast cancer because her mother (my grandma’s sister is a breast cancer survivor). But she was the only case.
on my father’s side, it’s the same thing though. However my grandfather did not die from cancer, but a heart attack. His brothers however, i think about 2 out of 5 had cancer and died. And also only one case in my father’s generation. This happens to be my aunt. She died fairly young before i was even born.
after this long story, my question is…. Can cancer be passed down from generation to generation? Especially in my case?

Answer by VCL
Breast cancers can be genetic linked, from grandmother, mother, aunts daughters. There is testing available that can check for the inherited breast cancer gene. Sometimes it seems that cancers run in families. However, you can’t spend your life worried and stressed out that it is going to affect you. Your best defense is to do your preventative screenings. (Yearly pap smear and mammogram) Also, make sure that your doctor is aware of your strong family history for cancer so he can arrange for other screening tests.
My father died of lung cancer in 1993. He is from a family of 10 siblings. One died of a heart attack and all of the others have had cancer of some form or another. (Colon, breast, throat and lung) My mother’s family with 9 siblings have had 2 breast cancers. So I know how you feel with the strong family history.

Breast health: I am 26 years old. Last week I was diagnosed with LCIS with a family history of BC.?
Question by BeeBee: Breast health: I am 26 years old. Last week I was diagnosed with LCIS with a family history of BC.?
Treatment options are 1)monitoring regularly (every 4 months), but this is not suggested with a family history of Breast Cancer 2) a 5 year course of Tamoxifen (which has side effects of sterility and increased risk of uteran/cervical cancers, with a heap of orther things) or 3) a bi-lateral mastectomy and reconstructive surgery with routine check ups following it.
Any suggestions? Has anyone been through this/knows anything about it? No way seems to be a good route at this point.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from a doctor that is not in the same office of the one you currently use to see if there are yet more options available for your situation.

Question That EMR And Cell Phone Radiation Is A Potential Carcinogen Lessons From History
Protection Against Cell Phone Radiation : www.emfnews.org Remember that it took decades for the government to respond to the early warnings about tobacco, asbestos, and X-Rays. Cell phones haven’t been around for very long and the technology is relatively new. However, it may benefit us to take a quick look back at history and learn a lesson. The tobacco time line: • The health effects of tobacco were first debated in 1856 in the medical journal The Lancet • Dr. Isaac Adler suggested lung cancer was related to smoking in 1912 • A British medical journal published a study in 1950 finding that smokers were 50 times more likely to get lung cancer • It wasn’t until 1997 that tobacco companies agreed to fund healthcare costs from smoking The X-Ray time line: • Thomas Edison noted injuries from X-Rays in 1896 • Edison’s assistant died from X-Ray exposure in 1904 • Fluoroscopes were used in shoe stores to see through shoes to aid proper fitting in 1930 • The deaths of over 200 radiologists from radioactive cancer were published in 1934 • Radiation levels of fluoroscopes were questioned in 1949 • In 1990 the risk of cancer from radiation was found to be five times greater than previously thought The Asbestos time line: • A British factory inspector warned of asbestos harm in 1898 • Rat studies raised questions about harmful effects of asbestos dust in 1911 • US insurers refused to cover asbestos worker’s claims in 1918 • From 1935 to 1949 lung cancer was reported in asbestos …
