I am haivng my house sided at the end of this week. They are removing wood shingles in the front and installing DOW TUFF R foam insulation boards, then the siding right over that. On all the sides, they are putting the DOW boards right over my Asbestos shingles, then the siding. Do I need/Should I have the TYVEK house wrap installed too? I do not think so but you could check the insulation under the roof and in other areas. You could do that by yourself otherwise call an expert.
please if you call an expert make sure that you tour the house with him in order to identify his findings. There are many so called experts who will try to scam you by telling you that your haouse is full of asbestos and charge you big time for it.

45/47 Bongate Jedburgh 4 year house flood 3
45/47 Bongate Jedburgh Scottish Borders : This sewage and mains water has been flooding the properties for 4 whole years and Scottish Water have done f*ck all about it.The foundations are all rotten, and the house is full of rats, dry rot, wet rot and sewage. The whole house and the houses around it stink to high heaven with sewage and used condoms and everything dirty has built up under the houses. There is even subsidence in parts of the house and the properties around it. The used condoms are coming from an abandoned shop at the front where all the queers and perverts gather round the back for *you*know*what* and its disgusting who they bring around.Yuk. Sickening and one town councillor is too busy selling porn he downloads to people to do anything about it.Sick. Difficult to get home and contents insurance for this house no wonder because what insurance company would be mad enough to insure it with a 4 year flood of sewage water, the dry rot, wet rot, rats and all that asbestos lying under the floorboards! We were told the Jedburgh Councillor who tried to cover it up was Len Wyse of Scottish Borders Council with a helping hand from Hugh Wight – both Conservatives of course so what do you expect. Check the community council minutes for Jed if they haven’t been edited out yet or censored.Hows the Common Good fund doing Hugh & Len ?

Asbestos in house, need details.?
Question by hereforaparty: Asbestos in house, need details.?
My house was built in 1974 and I live on Tierra St. Fremont, Ca. Anyone have any info on whether my house might have asbestos or not? I have popcorn ceiling in the house. I’m really scared I might be living under a blanket of asbestos. Anyone know anywhere else asbestos might be found around the household so I can avoid it?
wow that is scary, asbestos lines floors… So I’m hoping that everyday activities won’t release the fibers in the air?
Oh and we’ve been living in this house for 5 years and my mom got lung cancer. I head it takes 14 years for asbestos to do damage to your lungs. But I can’t help but think could it be related?

Question by Zac: i go to a smokers house a few times a month. Will i get lung cancer?
i have t go to a smokers house a few times a month. It smells bad there and when i get home my clothes smell bad. 2 smokers live in the house. Will i get lung cancer from this? i do not live with a smoker. Will i get lung cancer?
Best answer:
Answer by Matt
Most likely not. The left over smell is not an issue, it is the actual second hand smoke that can cause damage, but they are ususally talking about people who live with smokers or work daily in a smokey environment, like a bar.

pt.2 Asbestos House Georgia-8-12-2010
This is part 2: This video documents the condition of the house we moved out of in August of 2010. It also shows the, what I’ve been told is, asbestos tile that is on the inside and outside of the house. This material is falling off parts of the house and is even stacked under the house. We were not made aware of this material prior to moving in four years ago. Had I known this house was covered in this cancer causing material, I would have never moved myself and my family in. I have noticed over the years my breathing becoming more shallow and I have woken at night, numerous times gasping for breath since living at this residence. I thought it was allergies, but now I fear the prolonged exposure to this hazardous material may have caused my health problems and will further cause health problems in the future. I also fear what this exposure will do to my wife and child’s health in the future. This house was always more dusty than other homes we lived in and I do hear that the owner of this house died of cancer, but not sure if he ever resided in this home. This house, while we lived in it, was managed by a well established property management company.

Can I sue the previous homeowner for knowingly leaving asbestos insulation and tiling in the house?
Question by saxyman1039: Can I sue the previous homeowner for knowingly leaving asbestos insulation and tiling in the house?
My wife and I bought the house in October and we’re finding that it may have asbestos tiling and insulation in it. The homeowner knows about the asbestos as they did remodeling in both areas. We want to know if we can sue them to cover the cost of having both removed.
I realize that if you cover and leave the asbestos tiling alone it is ok. But it is beginning to break up. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! My wife is pregnant and I’d really like to take care of this before bringing a baby in to this house.

Asbestos in house?
Question by x.Turn.It.Up.x: Asbestos in house?
I recently was told that we have asbestos in the tiles of our hallways. I read the leaflet we recieved about it and it said if we wish to get it removed it would be more riskful to us.
What should I do?
Best answer:
Answer by Tigger
If you didn’t ask for a house inspection, suspect a fraud. There have been a number of con artists going around trying to target people by telling them they need assorted house repairs when in fact they don’t.
If the house was built at a time when asbestos were commonly used, consider this: As long as the asbestos are confined in the tiles, they are no threat to you. But if the tiles are breaking apart, you’ll need a professional team to come in and remove them. And that will be expensive.
Whatever you do, don’t let yourself be taken.
Good luck.

Will being in a house with smokers that are not smoking at that time cause a cough?
Question by April C: Will being in a house with smokers that are not smoking at that time cause a cough?
My baby stayed with his grandparents last night. They smoke in the house, but not when he is there. He came home with a terrible cough.
Best answer:
Answer by laurel g
Truly, a lot of the second hand smoke is in the very fibers in the home. The curtains, the rugs, the bedding, everything that is fibrous in the home, will hold onto the smoke.
