My rabbit has a lung infection?
Question by : My rabbit has a lung infection?
The vet gave me some antibiotics for her and told me to bring her back later in the week if she’s not better.
He wasn’t entirely clear on what would happen if she’s not better, he just said bring her back and we’ll see what we can do.
Does this mean it’s likely she’ll be put down?
Best answer:
Answer by DerugoTheCool
Not at all. Even if she is put down, all you do it hold the rabbit between you hands, like cup, open the mouth with thumbs and breathe in magic dust to the rabbit cadaver. Soon it come back, you’ll rabbit forever at this point.

Staff Infection in Lungs?
Question by alan.horridge: Staff Infection in Lungs?
After my grandfather past away many years ago I began coughing up a whitish, yellowish mucous. This has been going on for a year or two. I had been taking care of him for over ten years. My grandfather had lung cancer & worked in chemical plants with asbestos. Since going to a doctor about 4 months ago, I was diagnosed with a staff infection. The doctor prescribed me with antibiotics. It went away & now it’s back. I am still spitting or coughing up this flem. It gets stuck in my throat & drives me crazy. What can I do, is this dangerous?
Best answer:
Answer by Randall
Yes this is serious. Using moist towels put on hot for 3 minutes and cold for 1 minute.over the chest and back. Repeat this cycle 3 times morning and evening. This will summon and ativate your white blood cells in the lung areas of the body and can be more effective than antibiotics. You will need assistence to do this and a good microwave with plenty of towels but your health is worth it. May you know God’s blessings upon you.

Lung infection can’t be cured at home really. You need to go to a hospital, because lung infection can get worse after some time. Really worse….
The only thing to reduce some bacteria (not cure) is taking some amoxicillin pills …
I don’t think you can get much help here …

Question by fugitive999: does indigestion cause lung infection?
when a person have lung infection is it okay if he eats oily and fatty foods.bcoz i heard that undigested foods in stomach can cause lung infection.
Best answer:
Answer by Anna E
the only way indigestion could cause lung problems is if you had acid reflux and aspirated stomach contents into your lungs, which can happen. But other than that, you can eat about anything you want. I have heard of doctors telling patients with respiratory problems to avoid dairy products.

You need to see a Gastroenterologist. These Dr’s are the best when it comes to these problems. That’s their job. They will more than likely suggest a colonoscopy. Your symptoms could be anything from a virus, to irritable bowel syndrome or even something you ate but we here cannot give you a diagnosis. I hope you feel better. God bless

Only about 15% of all chesty episodes are in fact bacterial and many of those that are are little affected by antibiotics. This is why, in the UK at least, the SIGN and NICE guidelines suggest that they should not be used routinely. Despite this they are still prescribed for around 80% of chesty episodes that present in general practice on a strange ‘just in case’ basis. This is quite irrational as in fact statistically they do more harm than good.

lung infection treatment during pregnancy?
Question by anonymous: lung infection treatment during pregnancy?
I’ve been sick on and off all year long and each time it seems to go to my lungs and I’ll have a lingering coughing up of mucus. I think my lungs were affected by mold at a house I lived in last year for a few months.
I’ve been to a doctor months ago, but this was just a side-issue at the time and nothing was done about it. I found out I was pregnant during that time. Things seemed to be getting better, so I didn’t return to the dr. (it’s also very expensive).
I haven’t been getting sick as often now that it’s summer (southern hemisphere), but if I eat a rich or sugary meal I will cough up stringy, snake-shaped, yellow or brown mucus from my lungs (sorry for the detail) for a couple days to a week. If it’s really bad I will also have wheezing and occasionally have trouble breathing deeply. Most of the time it’s just minor, noticing a small bit of stringy/globby mucus from my throat.
I’m seeing a midwife, not a doctor for my pregnancy (I’d have to pay for a doctor, but not a midwife), so this issue hasn’t had the attention it’s needed.
Something needs to be done about it, it’s an infection of some kind, but at this point I may as well wait till after the baby is born (which is only about a month away). I don’t know what kind of treatments a doctor would give me, but I really, really don’t want to take antibiotics. I will be breastfeeding. What can I do to deal with this infection without harming the baby?

Answer by MirandaW
Get a humidifier, preferably one with some sort of Vicks vabor this will help to release the mucus in your chest.

What could this be? Tongue infection – lung cancer?!?!?
Question by Saima:3: What could this be? Tongue infection – lung cancer?!?!?
K so basically for the past 3 days or so now my friend has had lumps at the back of her tongue, not that many but theyre quite big. Theyre slightly red too, she did some research online and thinks she has lung cancer or herpes.. but shes only 12
.
She gets a little dehydrated quite alot and her throat has been quite dry recently, so she drinks alot of water, but this isnt really helping. She said it hurts a little when she swallows too, but it hurts alot more when she coughs. Thought it was tonselitus(spelling?D:) but shes already had that nd doesnt think its her tonsels… & its nothing to do with brushing her teeth too often or too little.
Does anyone know what this could be? Does she reeeeeally have lung cancer / herpes ?! Is there anything she can do? Its affecting her singing too and this is really upsetting her because she thinks its damaging her voice but PERSONALLY i think she sounds the same lmao. Yeh so can anyone help?D:

Q&A: Wheezing during sinus infection.?
Question by : Wheezing during sinus infection.?
Hey all, it seems I have contracted a sinus infection as I have all the classic symptoms:
Constant Running Nose
Coughing Up/Blowing Out Yellow Phlegm (no blood)
Slight Fever
Voice Almost Gone
Now Developing A Cough
However while I was resting I noticed that I would get a wheezing sounds and sensation coming from what felt like my right lung whenever I would breath in deeply. This seem to have started today when I started to get this cough. It doesn’t seem to happen as often when I’m sitting upright but rather when I lie down. I do not have any shortness of breath or any other severe symptom and the only side effect that occasionally happens when I feel it is I’ll cough. Again, this only happens if I kind of quickly breath in deeply but doesn’t occur when I breath normally. I know I can obviously stop breathing in deeply but I was just wondering if this is a normal side effect of a respiratory infection.
Oh I should probably also note I have no history of asthma and do not have any trouble breathing.
Thanks and take care.

Sometimes the drainage of the sinuses in the back of your throat and down your bronchial tubes can cause your throat to be sore and your bronchial tubes to be inflamed (bronchitis.)
You could have a pneumonia. It would be best to have a doctor examine you.

Question by Lydia G: why is Lou Gehrig’s disease usually result from respiratory infection secondary to respiratory infection?
Explain why.
Best answer:
Answer by AbeLincolnParty
Maybe it is the other way around.
Lou Gehrig’s disease has an unknown cause, there is a tendency to choke on liquids due to lack of muscle control.
Choking on liquids can lead to pneumonia.

Can a sinus infection lead to a cough and cold in the lungs?
Question by : Can a sinus infection lead to a cough and cold in the lungs?
I started with pain on my right side along my nose and under my eye into my ear. That side was very stuffy and my ear started to hurt. Two days later it also went to my left side the same symptoms and now two days later I have a sore throat and cough and a wheeze in my lungs. I still have the pain in my sinuses and my ears. My ears also seem to have pressure like the hearing is muffled. I went to the doctor she said my ear was pink but that I just had a cold. I looked up the difference between a cold and sinus infection and I think I have the symptoms of a sinus infection but now I feel worse. Im just wondering if this is just the result of a sinus infection not being treated.

When it was in full force I felt pretty much like I was dying — like a terrible flu just took out all my energy, my body ached, and I wanted to sleep but I just felt too awful. In my unprofessional opinion, if it doesn’t start getting better on its own then you should try to get some antibiotics — my reasoning is simply because respiratory infections are able to progress to pneumonia if left unchecked.
I hope this helps. I didn’t get prescribed antibiotics because I’m starting to get over it on my own, but the doc said that if it gets worse to see him again and he’d get me on Doxycycline.

What causes lung infection and bronchitis, besides bacteria&virusses?
Question by miss_chanandler_bong123: What causes lung infection and bronchitis, besides bacteria&virusses?
Best answer:
Answer by Mubz
By definition… Lung infection can only be caused by a bacteria or virus (the infection bit). In fairness however, technically I suppose a fungus could also be a kind of infection, so maybe fungi? But I have never heard of any instance of this happening.
Second one… Bronchitis. Again, as you know predominantly caused by bacteria or viruses. Other things can cause bronchitis though. Bronchitis is just inflammation of the bronchi as exudate has leaked from the blood vessels and with it white blood cells. Late response asthma can be a cause of bronchitis as can the inhalation of irritant substances such as fine dust, abestos, or even plant spores (in the case of farmer’s lung).
Hope this helps!

Q&A: New job and a persistant bacterial infection dilema… read for more details?
Question by Petcreatures78: New job and a persistant bacterial infection dilema… read for more details?
I got sick on October 16th and ended up in the ER unable to breathe and was throwing up. The doctor examined me and said I had a bacterial infection of my lungs, sinuses, larynx, and ears. He prescribed z-pak and I was sent home for a week of bed rest. The next week I returned to my full time student status at the local university with a still really run down feeling. Being optimistic, I reinterviewed for my old job as a seasonal full time employee (Circuit City). That weekend, I started once again feeling horrible and returned to urgent care on Monday. The doctor this time prescribed Levaquin. After I took it for 4 days, I pretty much lost the ability to focus my eyes and to keep down anything but yogurt. I finished my prescription neverless since my doctor said it wasn’t an allergic reaction. I finished my pills this past Friday and was offered a job on Saturday. Again, I am prematurely optimistic because my symptoms are once again returning. I’m suppose to start work
tomorrow, but I really don’t know if I should. After I’ve excepted a job aren’t I kind of stuck doing it? I just don’t know what to do!
accepted… sorry
I already filled out all the paperwork and stuff when I did my interview.

No employer can force you to keep a job. While it may reflect badly on you, you can quit. If you think it’s going to negatively impact your health, don’t do it. I would call them and explain the situation. Maybe you can start the job a little later.

Any doctors or medical students?? I’ve had a cold for over 2 months and is this typical of a sinus infection?
Question by Miranda: Any doctors or medical students?? I’ve had a cold for over 2 months and is this typical of a sinus infection?
Hello, I’ve had sinus infection/cold-like symptoms for about two months, and I am not getting better. For the first two or so weeks, I assumed I had a cold, and then got better, and got another cold. My mom thinks it’s my allergies, but I have never had allergy symptoms like this in my life other than hay fever in the spring. This is like a super-cold, I feel so lethargic and my nose keeps running and I just feel rotten. I am allergic to cats and dust (I have 3 cats) but I take 2 antihistamines daily and it has never been much of an issue unless i sleep with them in my face or something then it might irritate my breathing because I have asthma, but why would it just start giving me horrible symptoms at random NOW? It goes away for about 3-6 days, and then at random I will be sniffling and sneezing and totally miserable within like 30 minutes I’ll go from being completely fine to full-blown cold. Then it lasts for about 4-5 days and I’m fine again. This cycle has been repeated about 5 times. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me antibiotics (Sulfamethoxazole) for a sinus infection, which is what he said it sounds like I have. I haven’t been sleeping well at all, my nose is so irritated and I can’t stop sniffling all night my nose stays completely plugged. So of course every morning I wake up with a horribly raw throat from breating through my mouth while I’m asleep. To top it off, I got my two upper wisdom teeth pulled this morning. I canceled my original appointment for one week ago because my symptoms had come back in full the night before my appointment, and the same thing happened last night before my wisdom teeth appointment this morning, but I went. The oral surgeon made me use Afrin in my nose before we started so I’d be able to breathe through my nose better, but I feel way worse than before I had my teeth removed. It could be a coincidence and my symptoms are just escalating like they always do, but hat nose spray irritated my nose very badly. My eyes are red and I feel so icky. What is this?! Is it a really bad sinus infection, a remarkably long series of colds, or WHAT! How do I get better?? I’m so stressed because I feel so awful while my symptoms attack, and I can’t get any rest because it’s so hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. I’m prescribed percocet for my teeth (or lack there of)–will those help my sleep at all? But seriously, what is with this never-ending cold??! I’ve been taking vitamin C and a multivitamin and drinking a lot of liquids (water and cranberry juice) as well as Mucinex to try and clear out my sinuses and lungs. What else can I do????
Best answer:
Answer by Tony M
This actually sounds like something serious. The first thing that comes to mind is Epstein Barr virus, the same virus that causes “mono.” This should go away on its own but you need to have some routine blood work done to rule out other more serious things, like certain types of blood disorders such as leukemia or aplastic anemia. Tell your doctor that you want a CBC with a differential performed and you want your blood tested for “heterophil antibodies.” In addition tell him you want a monospot test.
If your doctor continues to act like a jacka$ s and dismisses you, tell him you want a referral to an infectious disease specialist.

When you use a mechanical ventilator, you are either connected via and endotracheal tube or a trach tube. You now have an open route to the lungs. So yes there is risk for lung infection. Prevention is the key. The use of closed suction, sterile technique, and good hand washing are your best bets.
