Skin cancer checks can start at any age! You just schedule an appointment with your regular doctor, and if they believe you to have cancer, then they refer you to an oncologist. Probably just local anesthesia. Goodness, if we all waited till we were 18 or 16 or something, children with leukemia or tumors would have died! The treatment of cancer is available for ALL ages.

“the lung cancer death rate for black males was more than 36% than for white males”…..”even though the peak prevalence of smoking among black males in that cohort never achieved that of white males”…”The reason for this disparity in lung cancer death rates is not clear. Differences in smoking behavior other than prevalence may play a role, such as the type of cigarette smoked”.(pg 95)
Graphs on pg 99 show increases in lung cancer rates with a large decrease in smoking rates among black & white males. “As smoking rates converged for white & black females in later cohorts, lung cancer deaths rates remained the approximately equivalent”…”despite lower smoking rates among black females, may AGAIN suggest a lung cancer risk that is NOT attributable to smoking.”(pg 108).

The real hidden reason why they came-up with those anti smoking propaganda is, people who smoke tobacco can’t be easily controlled, quite opposite for people who take daily dose of fluoride in the drinking water who became DOCILE or obedient selling away their own freedom and liberty.

We had some water damage in one of the bedrooms of our home, due to the fact the landlord neglected to fix the moss covered roof until part of the ceiling actually caved in.
The roof has since been replaced, but we’ve been told they will have to “gut” the one bedroom because they found asbestos in the ceiling. There is not any in the other rooms, so they are only re-doing the one room. I realize this may take a few days, and that they usually have to quarantine anything having to do with potentially hazardous asbestos exposure.
What I want to know is will we have to vacate the home while they do this? Since it is only the one room that is the problem, does that affect the others?
I am primarily concerned because we do have one indoor cat and I want to know if I need to be concerned with relocating her for the time it takes to do the repair. We are not concerned with the noise during the work or anything, just what might be required of us.
Any ideas?
We are getting our carpets replaced as well.
At the moment, we are in no position to move…or else we would have done just that.

I dont no much about this but they will probley make you leave the home while they do this and make you get a test to see if ur house is at a safe level of asbestos in the air to come in and asbestos is only bad if it breaks off and is airborne and i would take ur cat somewere else

What if the tumor is 3cm big but no lymph node involvement? What are a womens chances of surviving? Although i know a woman still can relapse even though there are no lymph nodes, but what i would like to know is it rare for a woman to relapse with no node involvement?

Based on your description of tumor size and lymph node status, the patient has stage 2A breast cancer. This is a relatively early stage and presents a high probability of long term survival with appropriate treatment. The published 5 year survival rate for stage 2A is above 90%.
A 2A breast cancer patient will typically undergo surgical tumor removal, chemotherapy, radiation, and take follow-on medications to achieve their best possible outcome.
Her prognosis is relatively good, though some risk exists, thanks to the cancer’s detection before spread had occurred. Best wishes for a good future.

If they have already done a mammogram and found cancer then they should send you for a MRI, that will show a better image and more details of what they are looking for.
Once that is done your Dr. will talk with you to see what is the best course of action for you. They may do a biopsy to see what stage it is in and depending on that they will make a recommendation if there is to be any surgery.
If there is surgery and depending on what stage the cancer is in, they will suggest chemotherapy and possible radiation.
They would at some point later do a PET scan to see if any cancer has spread to other parts of your body. They also do lots of blood work to see if there are any free radicals floating around.
If they do chemo, most likely they will give you a shot once a month
to make your bone marrow speed up production of red blood cells, and I think that made me more sick than the chemo.
I certainly hope you do not have this or know anyone who does.
I had stage 3 cancer and a bilateral mastectomy.

I live in Alabama currently and there are no state laws on emissions testing. I was born in California and I always remember my mom and dad having had to get their vehicles I/M tested. I’ve also lived in Alaska, which also requires I/M testing. I realize that the tests can be expensive and sometimes the test centers find something that needs to be “fixed”, resulting in a big hole in a person’s wallet, but when I can’t drive more than a mile without seeing a car with smoke billowing out of the tailpipe (the most recent car I saw like that was a 2004 Cadillac!) I just can’t help but wonder why there is no legislation for emissions testing!! It’s obviously already a problem environmentally, and if it gets worse it’s a lot harder to fix an environmental issue AFTER the fact, rather than taking preventative measures from the get-go. Basically, I need a starting point.

There are enough stupid useless laws out there. Getting yet another one passed is pointless.
There are already laws in Alabama addressing cars tailpipes smoking…they are the current anti-pollution laws that are in place.
Getting another stupid law to enforce would just be harassing even more people.
It’s like having a law forcing people to wear a seatbelt, when the law “careless driving” is already on the books. Just another way for government to harass people and steal money from them…and you shouldn’t be promoting these things.

Try talking to some of your professors. Maybe someone at your own college or university does something similar in their lab and is willing to take you on as a research assistant. If they can’t, you can apply to REU programs (research experience for undergraduates) at other universities (apply soon, because deadlines are coming up in the next few weeks) but it’s a lot easier to get one of those internships if you’ve already done some research at your own school, so talk to your professors first.

I was hired through a middle man to clean a basment. He lied to both parties. Told them I worked with mold and aspestos, and told me it was just a really dirty basement. A local company quoted them 3500, and he bid the job for me at 600. (I’m learning new lies every minute from this man) I ended up doing and removing demolition…it was awful. I’m just a single mom trying hard to make an “extra” dollar. I ran into a friend that I havnt seen in a long time. I asked her to come with and help and she did. Turns out she is now licensed in 48 states for insurance. When we got there (an hour away) She freaked, and said she wasnt helping..it was illeagal. I honestly didnt know!! I asked questions when things sounded wierd, but the middle man was a friend. He is new in town, and we became friends real fast. I trusted him. Come to find out, he’s scamming me and clients. I have yet to get paid, and I honestly don’t want “hush money” The family who decides to buy this (beautiful) house is in danger because of all the aspestis and mold. I don’t know where to start

Also, do lawyers specializing in personal injury have to go through as much schooling and have as much education, as any other type of lawyer? If so, what’s so bad about wanting to help people that have been injured or hurt in an accident rather than helping someone convicted of some kind of crime?

They take a percentage of the award, but you can’t just do it yourself.
I’d say you have no choice but to get a lawyer. the other sice will certainly have one.
Try to get recommendations from friends you trust – ask them what lawyers they have used personally, and can vouch for.
All lawyers get basic training, and are supposed to be proficient in their specialty. Before retaining a lawyer, check with the state bar that he or she does not have complaints filed against him or her. Also, make sure you understand the fee arrangements in full.

I have a friend who starts a clinical trial in March and I am being tested for a trial in March or April. Both trials are for targeted drugs and share one common drug of the two drugs in each study. Asbestos exposure is the only known cause of mesothelioma cancer, a life threatening disease. Asbestos exposure is so dangerous that even a short-term exposure or a minute exposure to asbestos may cause mesothelioma cancer. Only a doctor or a specialist in occupational medicine can tell you about the possibility of developing mesothelioma cancer after making queries about what kind of jobs you have worked on in the past and for how long. The doctors do this making assessment of your asbestos exposure and then evaluating your possibility of contacting asbestos related disease.
Who Are At Risk for Asbestos Exposure?
Chances of asbestos exposure are more if you have worked in companies dealing in building and insulation materials, fireproofing, cement, pipe covering, refractory materials, gaskets, floor tiles and joint compounds. Auto mechanics particularly those who repair brake or clutch are also at the risk of asbestos exposure.
When Asbestos Exposure Becomes Harmful
There is no proven test to determine whether a material contains the asbestos or not. Manufacturers do not label the materials containing asbestos. In old materials, it becomes more difficult to confirm whether it poses the risk of asbestos exposure from the manufacturer because we do not know its source. When you have no other option, it is always better and safer to assume that material contains asbestos.
Keep it in mind that asbestos fibers released in the air are responsible for asbestos exposure. Asbestos in intact condition is not a health hazard. If asbestos-containing material is friable i.e. if it crumbles easily then chances of asbestos exposure increases, particularly if it is dry and damaged. If we try to sand, saw, hammer, drill, pull apart or disturb in any other way then even non-friable material may start releasing fibers in the air.
Finding the Substitute
Government banned the use of asbestos due to increasing awareness about harmful effects of asbestos exposure. Scientists are trying to develop new materials as a substitute to asbestos. Fiberglass has emerged as most popular substitute to asbestos. However, fiberglass also is not completely safe material. Exposure to airborne fiberglass or even direct contact with fiberglass may result into irritation of skin, eyes, nose and throat. Inhalation of fiberglass may lead to bronchitis. It may cause permanent damage to lungs and airways ultimately resulting in lung cancer. Nevertheless, experts still feel that fiberglass is far better than asbestos.

I want to say I was …. in a case where clients won damages for an asbestos claim.
I don’t want to toot my own horn too much since I was basically a glorified intern, but at the same time I did do most of the actual work, and “involved” isn’t strong enough.

These studies are still an ongoing part of the asbestos research program, and has been proven without any doubt to be the major cause of many lung problems, not just cancer.
As a matter of fact, just last week at another of my lung screening sessions, it was also noted that the exposure to asbestos has other side effects, and has been found to be a contributing factor in Colon cancer.
Anyone that might think they are safe because of not actually working with asbestos, should be aware that just being in contact with a person that does work around this stuff, will have a detrimental affect on them, as the dust can be absorbed by them.
Just standing on any street corner can also be a method in which to be exposed as the dust from the automobile brakes contains much asbestos.
In spite of these findings, asbestos is still widely used in many products today.
