I’ve been playing guitar for a year and four months. Recorded through Line 6 UX2 with POD Farm and Reaper software. For drums I used Superior Drummer. I’m still fairly new to music recording/production, so let me know what you think! Yeah, it’s not really perfect by any stretch of the imagination… Oh well. As far as inspiration goes, I wrote this the day after my grandfather passed away from mesothelioma/lung cancer and I decided to write a song that reflected my views on death in song form.

I’m putting Fiber Cement shingle(imitation cedar shakes) on my gables.
If you can describe the experiences you’ve had with each or any. Installers, home owners or people with friends who know about this stuff. Also how would I install fiber cement siding over my asbestos siding, or will I have to remove the old stuff with a gov cert contractor? I want to avoid paying for the removal of the asbestos…as it is innocuous when left alone. Thanks

I heard certainteed had a MASSIVE recall and a lawsuit….their stuff was shrinking I guess and they were replacing the product in SOME cases but they were not covering the labor to replace it ….do you know if they’ve addressed the problem with the shrinking and warping? I don’t know exactly what I’m talking about that’s why I need someone to tell me what the best product is to invest in.

hardie and certainteed are both good so use whichever is cheaper
never heard of the other one
they are both somewhat difficult to install mainly because of the material and there is no self aligning edge so you have to use a chalk line on each row and make absolutely certain the first row is level
edit: i dont know the details of either one but hardie has also had lawsuits for flaking discoloration cracking warping and shrinkage

I have gradually been replacing my asbestos siding with the Hardie boards. In my neck of the woods, if the asbestos are solid, you can install the cement boards over them. Begin at the bottom and work up.
If the boards have moisture damage, they must be removed and disposed in accordance with your locality’s regulations.
I love the Hardie boards, the guarantee is great, they add good insulation, cut down on noise entering your home, and paint beautifully. I am fan!.
The contractors recommend these boards. Colonial Williamsburg allows these board for renovations in the historic district because of the durability and insect resistance.
Installation is not difficult. You must use the correct nails or screws so they will not crack the boards.

Mr Jello and Liberal continually slander James Hansen, claiming that he’s taken bribes from Kerry and Soros to…well, then don’t specify for what purpose. They’re content just to slander James Hansen and leave it at that.
Are global warming deniers so lacking in quality arguments to support their positions that they have to resort to slandering brilliant scientists?
I could spend all day pointing out the flaws in the few skeptic scientists. For example, the fact that Tim Ball lies about his credentials and is really just a geographer, or that Richard Lindzen doesn’t believe that smoking causes lung cancer, but I’d rather discuss scientific evidence. I’d rather pick apart what Tim Ball tries to argue rather than point out that he’s not an expert on the subject, as he claims.
Would global warming deniers rather slander people like Hansen and Gore than discuss scientific evidence, as appears to be the case? Why do they never discuss Hansen’s scientific arguments?
What a shock, Mr Jello continues to slander him.

What I find interesting is how many fine minds are torched and trashed, ruined and wrecked because “they took oil money”, but yet someone who took money from a “politicization of science” group can remain objective in your mind.
Here’s a group that states in their name that their goal is to politicize science and that’s fine? I guess objective science is dead, that “science” only depends on who or how many believe a statement to make that fact.
How sad. It’s a shame to see the product of today’s school systems.

For Christmas 2011, Kate Bowman and Alex Maingot decided to give James Ragan this video. We got around 75 of his friends to say a few words on camera about James. Here are a few words about James: In June of 2006, shortly after his 13th birthday, James was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his left knee. He had to undergo several months of chemotherapy both intra-arterially directly to the tumor site and systemically. They then removed a large portion of his left leg (40% of his femur, his knee, and 20 of his tibia) and replaced it with metal implants. This was followed by several more months of chemotherapy. While this was a difficult trial for James, it was compounded by the fact that due to the surgery and implant, he could also no longer play tennis again and he was obsessed with tennis. Before his diagnosis, he was a highly ranked junior player and hoped to play division one tennis. Unfortunately, his problems would get worse. By the summer of 2007, he was in apparent remission. He had also been told that even though he couldn’t play tennis he could play golf. He had taken it up and was playing well enough to play Varsity Golf at Mary Carroll High School and qualified to play the Texas State Junior Championship. He was even elected President of his class in school. Things seemed to be going well, but in October of 2007, he learned that the bone cancer had metastasized to his lungs. Sherbet will reform in February for a benefit show for former guitarist Harvey James who is battling lung cancer. Singer Daryl Braithwaite told me last night that Sherbet will play at the benefit gig in mid-February. Harvey has been undergoing cancer treatment in Melbourne. He joined Sherbet in 1975 following the departure of Clive Shakespeare and was catapulted to fame with his first recording with the band, the classic pop hit ‘Howzat’. The song reached Top 5 in the UK. Sherbet came to a halt in 1984 but has reformed occasionally over the years. JAMES HARDIE is definitely the best of those 3. Have used all 3.
My suggestion is to use pre-finished Hardie shingle siding with VELCUM exterior caulking. If you are using any trim around the siding then MIRATEC composite is the best. These will out perform Certainteed and especially Nichiha. Nichiha is a very low priced low grade product with numerous complaints. You can verify this on line. Certainteed has had some problems with delamination of the plies. Pre-finished James Hardie products offer the best and longest warranty.

In addition to both chemotherapy and surgery, we use x-ray treatments, which is what the linear accelerator makes, in order to target tumors precisely and kill cancer. My son has Melanoma Skin Caner. He has been treated with Chemo for the past 6 weeks. The chemo is no working and and the cancer has now spread to the spleen. I have heard of a cancer institution in Columbus, Ohio, but i don’t know the name. Is it Arthur G James Cancer Hospital? and how good is it? If not, what is the name?

I don’t have any personal experience with Arthur G James Cancer Hospital. However, it is one of NCIs Comprehensive Cancer Centers. There are only 39 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the USA.

I’m sorry to hear about your son. Advanced melanoma is very difficult to treat. There has been some success with vaccines against melanoma. You may want to check into it.
