do what you like , the siding is not a 100% asbestos , is is a product called transite , i would just paint over it as the shingles have a tendency to crack and shatter when nailed or screwed through .

Q&A: is a doctor legally obligated to tell their patient they have a disease that can’t be cured?
Question by : is a doctor legally obligated to tell their patient they have a disease that can’t be cured?
My mother has Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Thing is she didn’t know it until I obtained information about her health with her permission from the practice she goes to. After researching COPD I asked my mother how long she had had COPD. Her reply was I didn’t know I had it. This can’t be legally allowable can it!?

How do I deal with asbestos, legally, healthfully?
Question by wood_vulture: How do I deal with asbestos, legally, healthfully?
I am about to rehab a house, that just happens to have a section with what is almost certainly an asbestos floor. I want to add a bathroom (which means cutting holes, obviously), add a closet (which involves pounding in nails, of course).
What I do NOT want is cancer, in myself or my workers.
I’ll add on a new hard floor overtop the asbestos section, so that won’t be a problem for my tenants. It’s just a matter of what’ll go on during the construction phase.
What do I need to do to make this reasonable?
Thanks.
I will say what I can and cannot afford.
Best answer:
Answer by David C
There is no reasonable way to legally remove it. It is expensive to do so. It is only dangerous when cutting or as you said, drilling…..You could try encapsulating it by going over it with 1/4″ subfloor…but then, you still will be penetrating the material when drilling and cutting. To avoid raising the asbestos particles keep the material wet, using water. But then, you will have the residue…. What makes you think is has asbestos? If it is old 9″ tile, it most likely is….but if it is 12″ it most likely is not.

Need help writing a book, if I need to quote someone in my book how do I do that legally?
Question by earthgodess38: Need help writing a book, if I need to quote someone in my book how do I do that legally?
Like if I want to add medical information, say written from a study how do I quote the info in my book without getting into trouble. For instance if I pull up a website from the cancer association and they say 12 people per day die of lung cancer in the US. Can I quote that in my book without getting into trouble? Or if I find a paragraph in a book that has information about what I am writing about, can I write some of it in my book as long as I give credits at the end? Please help if you can. Thank you, KT

Answer by Hayley
Well, you’re only allowed to quote literature and other printed texts IF you have permission from the publisher. They will then usually require that you cite them within your copyrights at the beginning of the book and/or in prose form before or after the quote. For example:
‘And then to discover if he really was correct about the disease, he decided to go to the library. He quickly found an old copy of Grey’s Anatomy on the shelf, worn with use, and began to read it. It said:
“Blah, blah, blah, blood, blah, blah, blah, neurotransmitters, synapse, blah, blah, blah, blood.”
He was very pleased.’
For permission, you would usually need an agent or YOUR own publisher to contact the publisher of the book you’re trying to quote.
I hope that this has helped you out!!

If your kid gets cancer can a parent legally refuse conventional cancer treatment?
Question by Hans: If your kid gets cancer can a parent legally refuse conventional cancer treatment?
Chemotherapy/Radiation etc is nothing but poison to the body. When you poison the immune system and irradiate tissues, you create physical imbalances which in turn can create cancer. This is the simple reason why so many people who subject themselves to conventional cancer treatments find themselves battling recurring cancer. Conventional cancer treatments are downright brutal and destroy the immune system. I strongly believe in prevention and alternative medicine, and living a pure and natural lifestyle with raw organic foods, so my family and I will probably never ever get cancer. But if me or my kids or wife ever got cancer I swear I would never subject myself or them to that torture just to please the big pharma companies which don’t give a sh*t about people. Just like I would never give them a bottle of rat poison to swallow. The big pharma companies only care about their trillion-dollar a year industry and keeping people brainwashed. My question is would a parent be legally allowed to refuse conventional cancer treatment if their kid got cancer?

I’m sure you can but you’ll have to find another treatment out there that has been proven to cure whatever cancer the child has.

chemotherapy/radiation is the death wish. Big pharma is constantly throwing money out trying to make natural medicine of any kind illegal everywhere and denying the fact that it actually works! But of course everyone is too brainwashed to see that.

I am so glad to read your views on this issue. I agree with you totally.
I don’t know about the laws on this in your country. I would hope that you can legally refuse, but laws are being changed all the time and lately, not in parents’ favor, it seems.

Q&A: Can my school legally do this?
Question by Mixom: Can my school legally do this?
I attend a small suburban school that was built in the 1960′s. I am currently a Junior, and this year they plan to tear down the school, because they have been building a new one behind the current one. They are in the process of disassembling most of the school (i.e. the lockers, computers, etc.) and it has been made known that they intend to remove Asbestos from within the school building during this month or the next (while we are still inside it).
They claim that it will only be done after-hours and over the weekends. However, some of it could remain in the air. They plan to “test the air quality” and that’s it. Also, I learned today that, in order to “help prevent” exposure to the Asbestos, they plan to tear out the windows in several of the rooms and replace them with wooden boards, because supposedly that will help prevent it from getting into the rooms.
This school is run by a corrupt group of people, and has been known for shady dealings in the past. Also, I learned that the school was built on top of a landfill. Is that legal? The school, until recently, had well water that likely came from near the landfill. However, it is considered to be among the best schools in the area (in academics).
Can this school legally remove the Asbestos without quarantining the building? If not, what can I do? Also, could I get in trouble for wearing a dust mask during this time in school?

If this was a job you could claim that he failed you on his duty of care to you and he would be liable to pay compensation .
You would need to raise a civil action against him , you probably wont get legal aid but the court fees are very small , and you wont NEED a solicitor if you present the case well .
I would suggest raising it in a civil court under a summary procedure xx

check local codes. You probably won’t qualify for Federal Section 8 direct payments. Your landlords association should have a list of FAQs

No, you have to go through a company of professionals who are trained in how to remove the asbestos — if you don’t and somehow don’t remove it properly and someone gets sick, you could be sued for a lot. I wouldn’t risk it if I were you.
