I know it’s easy to say both parties are guilty, but Obama campaigned as the NEW kind of politician. He was supposed to be about Change, and a new way of doing things. All we’ve seen are backroom deals, broken promises, and scapegoating.
Where’s the change???

Q&A: Do you think many cancer deaths attributed to the disease may actually be caused by effects from chemo?
Question by SkepCrock: Do you think many cancer deaths attributed to the disease may actually be caused by effects from chemo?
Some cancer researchers have noted that , left untreated, the disease will not progress further, while some doctors have expressed reservations about chemo treatments.
Mark, you are lumping independent research into cancer with what can be termed conspiracy theories ? Seems like you are trying to poison the well here, using some topsy turvy analogy. Nice try.
Panda – such negativity, a real “take the chemo or else ” mindset. Pretty much a protection racket approach.

Q&A: Why would many employees sue their work place if what they are claiming isn’t true?
Question by One of a few left: Why would many employees sue their work place if what they are claiming isn’t true?
A place I used to work is being sued, for mold, mildew, asbestos, and numerous other toxicins, in the walls and air of the building according to more than 15 employees…the management there says that these substances are not in the building…but a toxocologist came in and found these substances…the building is still open for more people to work in, and thousands of people come in and out of it a day…
I worked here half a year, before I lost my job…When I worked here I noticed foul smells in the hallways where I was walking…also some hazards where people could trip and fall, and the management doesn’t do much about it, just looked the other way.
I haven’t gotten sick from working here from what I’ve seen, but some of my friends says I should have my lungs checked out to see if those toxicins have made their way in my body…right now it looks like a million dollar lawsuit…with many claiming their respiratory and pulmonary organs will be affected for life with them needing long term care for life…
If you have more than 15 people suing about this, do you think that they’d all be telling the truth
well that is what one person noted…that it could be millions of dollars…may not be…
Best answer:
Answer by David S
They may be telling the truth as they understand it, but they may not be correct about either the presence of toxins, the type or amount of toxins they have been exposed to, or the health affects of the alleged toxins. Proving that the toxins are present will be the burden of the plaintiffs, and just the first hurdle they must jump. It will challenged by defense attorneys, who will present their own expert witnesses in the field of toxicology. They must also show by a preponderance of the evidence that the alleged toxins have damaged their health, another difficult hurdle. They will have to provide medical experts as witnesses who will back up their claims of respiratory and pulmonary damage and the need for lifetime care. All of us hope that legitimate claims are revealed and made right, but it’s difficult to prove and expensive to attempt.

Why are there so many ignorant people?
Question by Eco/Enviro Girl: Why are there so many ignorant people?
I need to know LOL There are so many ignorant people and in all honesty they are starting to get annoying…
Here is an example:
I know a woman who has a child – she did drugs, drank alcohol and partied when she was 15 – her boyfriend was in his early 20′s and they weren’t using any “protection” – she discovered she was pregnant 3 months into her pregnancy all the while doing drugs, smoking, getting drunk… So her poor child obviously has problems – he not only has one kidney, no teeth enamel, lung problems but a learning disability and speech issues…
She has never left the city she’s from, has never taken her child anywhere – won’t even allow him on school trips… She lives in a house with her grandparents and uncle who all smoke (despite her child having all his problems) last year the poor kid (he was 6) had a burn mark on his arm from running around his house when someone was smoking – apparently he ran into a cigarette someone was holding – and the uncle in the household is a drunk!
She sends me spam about health things like “cancer” causing dioxins in water bottles… LOL Somehow I think that’s the least of what she should be concerned about….
So tell me, I’m no genius, but I do have my head on tight…. What the hell is wrong with people like this? and what can I do to avoid having to hear these stories from these people…?
Ugh – HELP LOL
That’s the problem – I have great friends who are not from “around here” they’re educated, good hearted, amazing people – it’s just that the people in my neighborhood seem to be from the same iq pool – short of moving (I’m considering it) how can I keep them at bay LOL

Answer by DaNcE4LiFe
What makes people ignorant, is their lack of education. Whatever the subject is….. In the case that you have explained about that women obviously was not taught anything about sex ed, or pregnancy 101, etc. It;s unfortunate. I wish people were less ignorant. I cant tell you how to avoid hearing stories from people like this, because everybody has a little ignorance in them… even if they dont want to admit it. Just choose to be around more educated people!

Why do I have so many mental disorders?
Question by RFP: Why do I have so many mental disorders?
I am currently being treated for mood and personality disorders i’ve had my entire life. I am currently 24 yrs old and went to the psychiatrist for the first time because my life was beginning to fall apart at the seams. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder as well as ADHD. I also have trouble sleeping and my psychiatrist also gave me ambien and rozerem to take if i have trouble sleeping. I spend entirely sleepless night sometimes because i dont want to take sleeping pills all the time. Although both medications are helping I still have an extremely high stress level, partly due to my life situations, and partly due to my natural tendencies to headaches and stomach problems. My psychiatrist diagnosed me with a low dose of paxil but I don’t want to take ANOTHER med! Is anyone else taking this many medications? I mean unfortunately, I know I need them, but I still have my quandries being a person who hasn’t taken meds for any of this.
I also wonder why so many disorders? I mean i know it might be hereditary, but I happen to think it has something to do with a neurological damage i suffered at birth. I was born 3 weeks overdue and by this time the meconium fluid had built up so much that i was breathing it in. My mother had an emergency c section, lost a lot of blood, and has an ugly scar because of me. My father, who is a doctor, had to such out the fluid and give me cr to revive me because my heart had stopped beating. I wonder if in t between this time I may have suffered some sort of neurological damage. I also have a rare problem with my eyesite that causes double vision horizontally and vertically (prisms correct this).
if anyone has anything similar going on or is knowledgeable on the subject, i’d appreciate your answers.
prescribed me a low dose of paxil*

The best thing to do is to get a second opinion. The psych that you’re going to now might be making money off you. You could merely be a hypochondriac, which means that you keep thinking that you have mental illnesses that you’ve heard of.

Would Black people buy as many diamonds if they knew that it supports slavery?
Question by dobbinscorey: Would Black people buy as many diamonds if they knew that it supports slavery?
Bling bling as a status symbol? Are the chains around your neck chains around someone elses? In Africa where some of the richest deposits of diamonds are found, poor Africans mine to make the wealthy diamond mine owners rich. Diamond cutters, brokers and dealers all benifit while poor miners work in poor conditions. Why can’t they share the wealth? Diamonds are also found near naturaling accuring asbestos.
For more info please check out this web page http://www.sparkle.plus.com/koffie.html
I have not seen blood diamond, although I probably will now that I have heard of it. I agree that white people buy more diamonds and I think it is terrible. I worded the question the way I did because I thought it would get more responses Than the first one I posted. I really wish people would read closely and not get as confused about the Irony. By the way white people buy so many diamonds beacause love, marrage, and divorce, are considered a large part of the gross domestic product (GDP) and that is a whole different oppresion conspiracy.

(Cigarettes) How many till there is an appearance on the lungs?
Question by : (Cigarettes) How many till there is an appearance on the lungs?
I’m getting a lung x-ray in a few days, and I’m wondering how big of an appearance approx. 10 cigarettes would have made on the lungs? I don’t smoke often, only every second weekend (and all in all, it’s been 10 cigarettes). I’m 17, and I’m going to stop smoking now because I’m afraid my mom might find out if this lung x-ray will make it turn up.
What are the visible affects of cigarettes at 10 cigarettes? Thanks

It is a great resolution to stop smoking. And 11 cigarettes is not enough to show the impact of nicotine on your lungs. It takes years of smoking in order to show. So relax:)

Q&A: Why are so many scam “You won XXXXXXX money!” emails from South Africa?
Question by stickit4277: Why are so many scam “You won XXXXXXX money!” emails from South Africa?
So far I’ve won a 2 million United States dollar lottery from Canada. Just collect your money from South Africa. Why would the Canadians be giving out American money from South Africa. Are the scammers just stupid?
I’ve also gotten an inheritance from a random whore dying of breast cancer in South Africa. She gave me $ 5.2 million.
I also got 2 million on another separate email lottery. I’ve never entered any lottery, much less a South African one, so I don’t see why I should win their money.
My point is, why are they all from South Africa? Is it not illegal to scam people over there? It’s so weird.
I’m going to copy and paste the last one I got. I thought it was funny, but don’t bother reading if you don’t care:
—————————————————————————–
Dear beloved friend
I know that this letter may be a very big surprise to you, I came across your email contact from my personal search and I instructed the doctor here in this hospital to help me email you and I believe that you will be honest to fulfill my final wish before I die.
I am Mrs. Cynthia Moore, from South Africa , I am 58 years old, I am deaf and suffering from a long time cancer of the breast, which also affected my brain.
From all indication my condition is really deteriorating, and my doctors have courageously advised me that I may not live beyond the next two months; this is because the cancer stage has reached a critical stage.
I was brought up in a motherless baby’s home, and was married to my late husband for twenty years without a child. My husband and I are true Christians, but quite unfortunately, he died in a fatal motor accident.
Since his death I decided not to re-marry, I sold all my inherited belongings and deposited the sum of $ 5.2million dollars with a Bank here in South Africa .
Presently, this money is in the Bank, and the management just wrote me as the Legitimate beneficiary to come forward to receive the money after keeping it for so long or rather issue a letter of authorization to somebody to receive it on my behalf since I can not come over as a result of my illness, or they get it confiscated.
At the moment, I’m with my laptop in the hospital where I have been undergoing treatment. It is my last wish to see that this money is invested in any organization of your choice and distributed each year among the charity organization, the poor and the motherless baby’s home where I come from. I want your good humanitarian, to also use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows around.
I must let you know that this was a very hard decision, but I had to take a bold step towards this issue because I have no further option.
I hope you will help see my last wishes come true. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the Bank where I bank the money.
I will also issue you a letter of authority, which will prove that you are the new beneficiary of my funds.
Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein.
Hope to hear from you soonest.
Reply to XXXXXXXXXX@XXXXXX.XXX
Yours faithfully,
Mrs. Cynthia Moore
—————————————————————-
As you can see (if you bothered) they asked for no money. But I’m sure the second I respond they would be on me like white on rice with the spam and “please wire x amount of money to x bank account in south africa”
In case you forgot, my basic question was, why South Africa?
Alright, I’m done.

Why is smoking blamed for so many things? (read explanation?)?
Question by Lana: Why is smoking blamed for so many things? (read explanation?)?
First I admit I am a smoker. I realize smoking is very unhealthy. But why are lung cancer and all other diseases blamed on smoking cigarettes? Isn’t it true that there are more cases of those diseases now? But isn’t it also true the air is polluted more than ever before by so many more cars on the road, factories all over the world polluting our air with dangerous smoke? The factory that I work at,we are required to clean when our machines aren’t running, and the very next day everything is covered in black dust. We are breathing that every day,not only where I work, but all over. Why do people seem to only focus on smoking causing all the health problems and treating smokers like criminals when most people I know are polite about smoking and only do so in certain areas? I would like to hear others opinions on this, and maybe educate me if I am way off? I am curious why the government seems to focus so much on smoking and not enforcing the laws on factories and such polluting the air.

i eat 2 bananas per day but im not sure it has enough fibre in it. now i added 1 piece of apple to my daily diet. is that enough?
Best answer:
Answer by Verite R
I have been researching diet for cancer patients (see more on www.after-cancer.com) and you need to eat more fruit and veg.
Doctors recommend AT LEAST five portions a day – veg. are better, but fruit is good. Why not snack on carrots sticks, cucumber, cherry tomatoes etc?
But no diet can prevent cancer – all it can do is make you healthier so that if cancer comes, you are better able to recover. There is a lot of research that says that fruit and veg might prevent colon cancer, but so far no-one has come up with a definitive statement.
