My daughter Becky Ann Cardenelle passed away may of 2007 from a rare cancer called Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma. She left behind a loving daughter and husband and many family members who loved her. this is a small clip of time during her hospice and at her funeral put together by her sister Dakota to honor her sister.

Carol was a friend of mine, who went to high school with me. He was a great person – very smart and thoughtful. He was always laughing or smiling, and always goofing off. Here is his story, that I copy-pasted from the Carol Sun: In Memoriam FaceBook page: On Sunday, July 23rd Carol was admitted to Saint Louis University Hospital. He had a major hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of his brain. The blood was drained and doctors worked to stabilize him as quickly as possible. He was eventually diagnosed with Moyamoya Disease, an incredibly rare genetic disorder that narrows blood vessels in the brain. This narrowing caused pressure to rise in other blood vessels of Carol’s brain, and they eventually burst and bled out. He was in critical condition, and doctors planned to wait a month for the surgery to repair the blood vessel constriction in order to allow his body to stabilize. Unfortunately, complications began to plague Carol as he remained in the hospital. He was diagnosed with a serious lung condition known as ARDS, which was a reaction to the trauma in his brain. While originally created for miners, the information contained on the tape applies to all workers exposed to silica. In 1997, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified occupational exposure to crystalline silica as carcinogenic to humans. Large amounts of epidemiological data have been published showing this, including studies on workers in dusty trades in North Carolina. According to one such study in 1991 ( American Journal Industrial Medicine. 1991;20(1):57-70), Silicosis and lung cancer in North Carolina dusty trades workers, Since 1940, 760 cases of silicosis had been diagnosed as part of the State of North Carolina’s (NC) pneumoconiosis surveillance program for dusty trades workers. This video was made to pay tribute to my mother, Charlotte Patricia Gray, who many of you know is the lady in the THANKS TOBACCO: YOU KILLED MY MOM video. It’s been over a year since her passing and the video we filmed has no doubt saved hundreds of lives and I couldn’t be more proud of what we did. The video is being watched close to 500 times a day and is up over 130000+ views as of yesterday. It’s in the hands of health teachers at schools, workers at American Lung Association Clinics, and being utilized by so many professionals as a teaching aid across the Country. It has become projects for students, inspiration to quit and to help others quit smoking and also to prepare some of the people that are about to go through this personally. It has been a comment forum to share our hearts and souls as there are too many of us out there that lost a loved one like this. Though my emotions are always a roller-coaster having to tend to the daily comments of the video, I am so glad we got this out there in the world to make a difference. It was her deepest wish to help save lives. It has helped me come to terms with the emotions and have closure knowing her death was not in vain. SUPPLIES NEEDED (or substitute your own if you have better): A water bottle. A 3/16 piece, or sometime of bolt near that size for your bowl. A BIC Ultra Round Stic Grip pen hallowed out, or some other pipe like pen. A Paperclip for burning the holes into the water bottle. A Lighter for heating up the paperclip. Tape to tape up the pipe. Scissors (Optional). INSTRUCTIONS: Undo the paper clip and get it red hot with the lighter (be careful…). Burn a hole near the bottom for the pipe. Burn a hole for the carb near the top (where you will put your finger to cover it) Go ahead and assemble the hallow Bic Pen with the bowl (3/16 piece etc.) Insert the assembled pipe into the lower hole. Adjust so the end is facing down, almost touching the bottom of the water bottle. Tape the Pipe down. Fill it with water, light your substance in the bowl, cover the carb, suck, uncover the carb, suck all the smoke out and you’re good. HOW TO MAKE IT MOBILE: Complete the bong. Empty bong. Twist out the pipe, leaving an in-print in the tape of how it was before. Untape the pipe, remove the bowl. Now you have a pipe and a bowl separate and a water bottle ready for the pipe. Lick the plastic pipe before inserting into water bottle to make it easier WARNING: REMAKE WATER BOTTLE BONG AFTER EVERY USE, RECYCLE. RE-USING CAN BE A HEALTH HAZARD. MARIJUANA AND OTHER SUBSTANCES HAVE BEEN LINKED TO HEALTH ISSUES INCLUDING LUNG CANCER AND BRAIN DAMAGE. PLEASE BE ADVISED.
