My 19 year old is very sick. I’m not gonna into too much detail since I don’t have the time and patience right now and it’s not important for my question. She’s suffering from some lung disease, she’s been in the ICU for several days now and she hasn’t responded to any treatment so far. She developed cardiac arrhythmia yesterday afternoon and her fever went up uncontrollably. She went into cardiac arrest this afternoon and flat lined for almost a minute. She was immediately put on full life support and placed in an artificial coma. The fever will have to go down in the next few hours, otherwise she’ll be very likely to suffer multiple organ failure. Tonight will be very critical and we’re all hoping she’ll pull through, but chances are low.
I’m sorry, I’m really confused, I hope all this makes sense in some way.. As you might imagine I’m a complete mess right now and so is my husband, he just called up my brother and he’s on his way over here to stay in the hospital with us tonight. My biggest concern next to my daughters life right now is her boyfriend. He’s been a mess since she got sick, he lost his brother just a bit over a year ago and he’s been through deep depression and he’s just started recovering. They’ve been together since she was 15 and he’s become like a son to me so I care very deeply about him, however, I’m not strong enough right now to give him the support he needs and neither is the rest of the family. He doesn’t want for us to call his mom though, she’s been very sick since on of her sons passed away and they’re not that close, so I’m not even sure if she’s gonna be able to help him right now. Next to my daughter, his brother was the only one he could talk to, and right now he’s terrified about losing her, too, of course. When she flat lined this afternoon he broke down and cried, I tried to comfort him as much as I could, but it was extremely hard for me to do. My husband and I have been making sure that he eats and gets some rest for the past few days, but I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to help him through the night, since I’m not even sure if I’ll get through right now.. I’m so lost at this point, this is why I’m turning to strangers for advice, sometimes a word from the outside world does the trick.. All of you need to ban together and share in your concerns and grief. It would be good if you could find a hospital chaplin or someone objective to be with you, someone outside the family.All you can really do is be there for him. In your own grief, try to remember the good times and remember that you are not the only one grieving. If this does come to pass, I would recommend that all of you seek grief counseling together.

Seriously, I don’t have health insurance right now and I have this weird new mole on my left cheek, near my ear lobe that came since May. It is scaring the crap out of me, cuz I read that from driving, that is the number one area skin cancer starts. I’m very pale too, a natural blonde. I know survival rates are pretty good for skin cancer so I’m not really scared of death, just that I’ve got no insurance and don’t know what the treatments are for skin cancer. Anyone else go thru this with skin cancer. Please give me any info or experiences to relieve my worries until I get seen by a doctor and get my tests back.

This is a little long, but I really need help!
I was dating my boyfriend for a 4 months and just recently we broke up. On Saturday night he called me and invited me over to hangout, and we ended up talking about our problems, and getting back together. Everything was fine on Saturday night, minus the fact he broke his hand. I went home Sunday, hung out with some friends, had a pretty good day. Last night when I was on the phone talking to my best friend. My boyfriend texted me saying, “I have some bad news”. I expected him to say something like, “My ex girlfriend is pregnant” or something along those lines. He asked to come over and I said it was fine, and when he got here I was trying to figure out what that “bad news” was, and he finally told me that he went to the doctors this morning after I left to go get a cast and what not and when the doctor was treating his hand, my boyfriend told him he has 3 marble sized lumps on his hip area. The doctor told him that because Cancer runs so highly in his family to go get it checked out immediately.
My boyfriend is one of those guys who’s extremely hard headed and doesn’t like showing pain and emotion, but its clear that he’s scared, I mean who wouldn’t be? The things last night he was saying were starting to scare me, he was saying how much he really loved me, and how he doesn’t want to go hear from a doctor he has Cancer and he might as well just sit here and enjoy life, because he may not respond to treatment, so it wasn’t worth it, etc. [ His Uncle and Grandpa died from Cancer, after not responding to treatment ] I finally convinced him to go to the NCI [ National Cancer Institute] because I said of course I’d go with him, but he’s still having extreme doubts about getting treatment for it.
I’ve never had anyone in my close family die from Cancer, so I don’t know anything about it as far as treatments, supporting, the process, etc. Can anyone give me some good advice on how to be a supportive girlfriend? & How to explain to my boyfriend that he needs to do the treatments and the process, etc. We’re pretty good at communication, but without saying, “I’m there for you whenever you need me” – I want to word it differently without it sounding so cheezy.
Can someone please help me out?

be positive. tell him there is atleast a 50% + chance that hes gonna be alright! spend more time with him…share his fear with him…treat him like a person without a disease..and pray to the almighty supreme being that he will be ok…dont worry..if its gods will, hes sure to be ok 
u dont even need to tell him that..u can show it with your positive, caring, and supporting attitude..make him feel normal by giving him the same love youve always given him

I have been smokeing for 2 year I recently quit on christmas about 3 weeks ago I went to the doctor i took an xray and found out I have walking phenmoia in the first X-ray it showed fluid in my lungs one of meny of the signs of lung cancer I have i took a mild antibiotics and in a week he took another X-ray and the fluid was gone but the matter in my lungs was not it had not responded to the medicine so he gave me two antibiotics one a high grade and one a iv grade
Eny way I have these signs of lung cancer
Wheezing or hoarseness
Repeated respiratory infections, such as bronchitis or pneumonia
Shortness of breath
Lung cancer that has metastasized to the bone causes bone pain
A new cough in a smoker or a former smoker should raise concern for lung cancer.Pain in the chest area
Please help me understand if I have lung cancer

Ok so today my mother got a letter from her doctor an here is what it says. “This diagnostic imaging study chest xray you recently had done showed 2 new lesions that need to be look at further” The finding they said were as listed:
There is a stable heart size.
There is a 4-mm nodular density in the left upper lung zone.
There is a 7-mm nodular density in the right perihilar region.
No focal infiltrates are identified.
The bones are unremarkable.
Recommend further evaluation with chest CT…
So thats what the letter says, can anyone tell me what that means, an what it can be, im really worried an scared for my mother…Thank you all..

My father is 55 years old, and has been smoking for years and years, probably since he was a teenager. He quit once, awhile ago, maybe like 6-7 years past, but then my cousin died, and he dove into depression, and pulled out the cigarettes to help him cope.
That brings us to today. He doesn’t have the same “clear” voice that used to have. He wheezes, coughs up phlegm CONSTANTLY, and as of now, has an incredibly bad cough. He says it’s a cold, and he has a runny nose as well, but this particular cough seems far too bad, as its rough, dry, and lasts sets him off on minute-long coughing tangents
He is my father, and I love him very much. i am 18 now, and I have grown up considerably the past year. I used to spend absolutely NO time with my family; I ignored my parents, simply going straight to my room after school to go on the computer and play video games; I scolded and insulted my brother often, treating him like trash, and I was never really close or sincere to my relatives.
I’ve changed now. You can say was an epiphany I see life in a different light now. I spend much more time with my family, throwing video games and the computer aside, and actually show love to my brother, spenidng time with him, dirivng arund, going to the movies. It makes us both happy. I also actually kiss my relatives now when I see them, instead of the usual hug. I kiss and adore them.
If you have read this, thank you, for it is me venting my stress and worries I have bened dealing with. I love my father, but he is very ignorant to my, and the rest of my families wishes. I constantly tell him that he needs to stop smoking, that if he wants ot live long enough to see my 5 year old sister get married, and walk her down the asile, he NEEDS to stop smoking. But, everytime I, or someone else tells him this, he simply ignores us.
I need support, prayer, etc. I really do feel that my father may have cancer, and I’m incredibly stressed, My mother has colitos, and is already suffering. I do not want my father to suffer as well.
Any tips, adivce, etc., is GREATLY appreciated.

I think its bs.
I think allowing people to be healthy allows them to be out and working instead of sitting on their rear collecting disability.
I think that an official cure of any type would bring in more profits and revenue than what these people currently dream of making.
An umbrella cure is virtually impossible – cancer itself is an umbrella term for an entire class of diseases, not a single disease. Out in the public we say things like breast cancer or skin cancer or stomach cancer, like its all the same thing. but the doctors use long words, and there are different types of cancer. I had leukemia, and there are something like a dozen different types of leukemia. They all have things in common, but each one has its own specific symptoms and its own causes, and its own effects, and therefore its own treatment.
I think it is very easy to be cynical about gov and health care. And I think it is very easy to beleive something like this if you arent medically educated or have been through cancer yourself enough to know the medical side of whats going on. I believe pharmaceutical companies are greedy bastards, and currently in the US health care is a luxury for the rich.
But I dont believe scientists world wide are holding back a cure for fear of loosing money, simply because people would pay far more for something that is definitely a cure than they do for horrible treatment that gives you a 50/50 shot at best.

Ive been down for awhile now and i feel very lonely. for the past year my sisters always out with friends my moms “too busy” and my dads at work all day. i cry myself to sleep alot and i have this pain inside me thats more sad and emotional than anything. it was my freshman year of high school and i just stopped caring about pretty much everything. my grades slipped i just couldnt study for anything i was trying to detatch myself from the people at school so i never really made any friends.. and ive just given up hope. you see i have had this lung disease called cystic fibrosis for all my life (im 15) and im realizing now that ill probably be dead before im 30 from this disease. its fourth of july today and im reallly really in a down mood today and i said i dont feel good and i dont want to be with my family at a baseball game today. im just lost…. im scared i might do something bad to myself…yet i dont want to see a counselor or anything…. help

Hey. I know that this a very difficult time. I was very depressed and had bad anxiety when I was 16-17. Haveing CF really doesn’t help the situation because you are often isolated because you have to take care of yourself. Really though, don’t think about how long your going to live for. That will only depress you more. I admit, when I was younger and didn’t really understand what was going on with me, my parents would always be like “your going to live to be 100″ only to find out when I’m 13 that I’ll be lucky to hit 50, yeah its hard. I cried like a baby. I did however get a lot of help later on from the Social Worker at my doctors office. (do you see a doctor that specializes in CF?) She really helped me out through a lot of rough times in my life. I hope that you can feel better, because really the best thing is to stay upbeat. Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

My barn owner hasn’t been doing too well.
So far he’s has 2 cancer surgeries: the first one was a removal of a part of his intestine, the second was a removal of a part of his lung. The first one was a couple years ago, the second was just this past winter. He’s also in his mid 80s and lives alone. Most people don’t think he’ll be around much longer
He has no family so no one will inherit his barn. The rumor is that the barn will either be donated to a vet school, or torn down for houses to be built. So if he’s not around, the boarders have to go.
I’ve been at this barn since my very first riding lesson. So leaving would be extremely difficult and a bit scary for me.
My questions are:
1. How should I go about looking for a new barn?
2. How difficult is it to get into the groove of a different barn? My barn is very laid back….
3. My horse has a very large run connected to his stall. He stocks up pretty easily when kept in a normal stall. If I can’t find another place where I can afford a run, would daily turn out be enough?
4. If I end up at an english/jumping barn, would it be hard for me to fit in, being a barrel racer?
5. Any tips you might have for moving barns would be much appreciated.
Kiwi: Being at a jumping barn doens’t mean I’ll become a jumper. I’m asking how difficult it would be to be able to practice a discipline at a barn where nobody does it.

Well first if you think you might have to switch start researching.I go to a very laid back barn also. It depends on where you live. Just Google stables in —- where you live. Sometimes you can just drive around and walk into a barn and look around. Sometimes barns can be very hard to adjust to. If you have friends who ride at the same barn talk to them. It’s easier going to a new barn when you have someone there with you. Also it would be easier for you because you have a horse which you know. As for your barrel racing question well that is difficult to say. Since you’ve ridden before then English and jumping shouldn’t be that difficult. Maybe try it on a horse that knows English and jumping then work on your horse. Or if you can afford it pay someone to teach your horse. If you get to know people well lots of them especially kids will work cheap or even for free because they love horses!

I know people say he’s an adult and it’s legal yet some people are shocked like me, he doesn’t look like the type who would do something like that, sure he has a lot of stress, but he can release it by other good ways. If it is really him in that picture, I would be disappointed, I mean think about what’s gonna happen like damaging his voice, lung cancer and all that other stuff. I know he controls his own body, but doesn’t he love his body? Like he wants to take care of it in good condition? I hate smokers and I hate the smell. But,it’s up to them to do it or not. Not only Gi Kwang,many other male idols are smokers,it’s just that some are very lucky that no one know about that while a few was busted while they are doing it. Yunho and Jaejoong are the example. My friend who went for SM Town Paris met him outside smoking with his manager. And also the controversy about GD seen with a cigarette in his hand.There are many more,but people doesn’t know.
Yes,it’s true. Their body,they should love it. There is another way to release stress. But from these idols point of view,the only other way to release stress is by drinking. Surely they wouldn’t want being seen in any random bar or club,drinking and being drunk. So they resolve to smoking. For me,drinking is way more dangerous than smoking.
As for the people that loves them,yes we want to see them as healthy as forever. But,there is no way to change that unless the idol change himself first. My dad is a smoker,I love him and I want to see him live longer.But every time I talk about this to him,it fall on deaf ears. We can only hope for them to change,but to change them,it’s impossible.

Let me start off by saying he MIGHT have cancer. He is known to spread big fibs for sympathy and i think hes at it again. hes my best friends recent ex (shes with another guy now) and needless to say i THINK hes making a desperate attempt to get her attention (he shut her phone off and has no contact with her except me so he texted me) saying he was diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago but i dont wanna be too closed minded and be an a$ $ hole. He claims he has metastatic cancer and the cancer cells are multiplying in his brain, esophagus and his lungs… and they don’t know where it started. he said is a scarce chance of being cured. Before i scare my best friend can someone educate me with some info and he is 21 by the way…

About 1.5% of all cancers occur in people 21 and younger.
About 5% of all cancers are of an unknown primary.
Clearly, if fits a very narrow category.
If he really has cancer the next tests to be done would be an EGD with a biopsy and from there they would run tests to determine the primary.
The way I see it a liar is lying until they prove they are telling the truth.

So, there was this guy freshman year. He was my friend’s ex. Two weeks after breaking up with her, he asks me to Winter Ball. I said sure. But then my parents didn’t let me go. So he was sad, but he took another girl. After that, we got really close (physically & emotionally). But there were some things that really pissed me off about him that I finally stopped talking to him. But he’s sweet. He’d walk me to class, walk me to the other campus for tutoring, phone calls, IMs, friendly PDA, etc. So, sophomore year passes, and when we pass by each other in the hallways, we just give each other this look. Most of the year is like this. Near the end of the school year, he starts going out with the girl whom he took to Winter Ball. At the same time, I start talking to him again, and telling him the reasons why I stopped talking to him. He understood; & he said he’d make an effort to change (btw, he actually has. I see it.) Anyways, they broke up a month later. He was emotionally screwed up, but I was there for him. But I didn’t want to get on his ex-gf’s WORSE side. I say worse because she already didn’t like me since freshman year. :/ Idk why to this day. So, we’re still talking, the last few months, & I got a couple core questions answered. He said that he really liked me, and didn’t understand why I stopped talking to him. He said that his life would have been totally different if we went to Winter Ball together, & that he was going to ask me out that night. (but a question looming through my head is “Why didn’t he ask in the later months? No ‘perfect opportunity’?) So, we’ve been really close & talking every night again. He has a really really tough family life. & he just overcame lung cancer. But he still gets treatment and stuff every month at the hospital. But like I say to him, “I’ll be here for you always, like you are for me.(:” Well, he’s leaving for LA for this internship at this Thai business place, for about a week. I’ll be gone too, camping with my best friend. We’re texting, and at the end , I say, “I’ll miss you (:” & he replies, ” I know you’ll miss me because I’ll miss you too(=” What do you guys think? :/ I know most of your advice will be “DONT GO FOR HIM. HE’S NOT WORTH IT!” Or maybe that’s just one of my friend’s opinions.

I think hes worth it but i think your the one thats messing with him. Why would you leave everything unanswered then go back and talk to him when he starts going out with someone. i can see why that girl doesnt like you even if you dont. i dont think your really there for him i think you just always want him to be there for you and only you
