Question by Homer: All the sudden when I drink liquids the right side of my lungs get a sharp pain after I swallow.?
This only happens when I drink liquids. It is like a stabbing pain only on the right side and it feels like it is in my lung. Does anyone know what this could be?

Lung problems! my right lung hurts i started coughing up blood. when when i take deep breaths it hurt a lot.?
Question by : Lung problems! my right lung hurts i started coughing up blood. when when i take deep breaths it hurt a lot.?
on the right some of my chest it get pain when i breath. it is hard to lay down without pain.i have a very slight fever of 99.1. both of my parents smoke. my dad is a chain smoker and smokes constantly around me. no one in my family has any form of cancer and most members of my family smoke a lot.
i started coughing up very small amounts blood tonight. i don’t feel the need to cough i just force myself to, to try and clear my lungs. while doing this it hurts A LOT!
i am 17 years old and will get my mother to take me to the doctor in the morning. i don’t want to wake her right now because she is sleeping.
some useful information. i had a seizure 4 days ago (on Christmas) i don’t remember any of it, or if the seizure had anything to do with it, but i fell face first into dog urine. again i don’t think the seizure had anything to do with it.
the first day i noticed something was not right was when i felt a little slight tickle in my right lung when taking deep breathes. the pain is around my right nipple, but it feel like it is coming from the inside of my lung. i have been taking Aleves every 4 hours. it helps with the pain and makes it tolerable but still when i take deep breathes it makes a sharp pain coming from my right lung. sometimes when i move my right arm i get some pain.
i would love some advice on what to do and what position should be the most comfortable to sleep in.
also some more info that i think is unrelated, i have had a headache all day
please i could use the advice. thank you to anyone who has had a similar problem and can help. i just want the pain to go away.

Q&A: Pain under ribs in my right backside, shortness of breath, hurts to take deep breath, concern collapsed lung?
Question by : Pain under ribs in my right backside, shortness of breath, hurts to take deep breath, concern collapsed lung?
The only time I feel like i get a full breath is when I yawn. I have been having some acid reflux like symptoms lately and have also recently been diagnosed with hemorrhoids. I have a history of asthma but have not had to use any asthma medicine in the past 5 years. I am 23 right now and a daily smoker of marijuana (but smoke nothing else). I have pain in my right abdomen by my belly button and the pain under my right shoulder blade/ribs in my back that is made worse by stretching to the left, taking a deep breath, and holding in a deep breath. I have been to the doctor (although i have not revealed my marijuana usage as i am afraid it will affect my health insurance and later on down the line my life insurance if i choose to get; i am also ashamed to admit it to a doctor) a couple of times. My routine blood work for my physical came back normal except for slightly elevated calcium. My pulse and blood pressure were always normal. My gallbladder ultrasound showed nothing wrong with my gallbladder. I am supposed to see a GI doctor on the 21st. Meanwhile, I am extremely concerned that I have a partially collapsed lung. Is it possible that two different physicians would miss that while listening to my breathing? The shortness of breath manifests itself both when i smoke and when i dont smoke. I am going to quit smoking but I am worried that I have a collapsed lung and am in serious jeopardy. My legs sometimes tingle a little bit and were unexplainably sore for awhile. Would my shortness of breath come and go if i had a collapsed lung, as i am not constantly short of breath this makes me think it isnt a collapsed lung. The pain in my back is not constant either.
While a previous answer has suggested that I would be in the hospital if I had a collapsed lung, it seems to me that there is a difference between partially and completely collapsed lungs and that a pneumothorax is nto necessarily an emergency, but can worsen into an emergency. I have also read that it a partially collapsed lung is frequently missed by a doctor listening to your breathing and even sometimes overlooked on a chest x-ray.

if you had a collapsed lung you would be in the hospital right now, incapable of sitting at your computer on yahoo answers and typing that huge question.
my guess would be pleurisy, an inflammation of the lining of your lungs. it can cause extreme pain when moving and breathing, specifically where your ribs are. you can experience shortness of breath as well. it’s not too serious even though it can feel that way, and i’m pretty sure there’s a treatment for it.
no way of knowing for sure until you get to a doctor again, maybe mention the possibility of it being what i think it is and they’ll check it out. good luck and i hope you find some relief soon.

Why does big government have the “right” to take away my hard-earned money?
Question by : Why does big government have the “right” to take away my hard-earned money?
It’s not fair. I work for my money. I don’t want socialists taking it away and “spreading the wealth.” This is why I:
1. Own several guns so that I don’t need the police
2. Keep a private attorney on retainer in case I have legal trouble
3. Have sprinklers and asbestos in my house in case of fire
4. Never travel on public roads
5. Have my kids home schooled
6. Have a machine gun in case my country is invaded
7. Never enter public parks or beaches
I am self made and refuse to have others take my money. Anyone who feels the same, but doesn’t live the way I live is a hypocrite!

Is cyberknife is right treatment for lung tumore. as size is 52X50X50 mm approx?
Question by avinash ahuja: Is cyberknife is right treatment for lung tumore. as size is 52X50X50 mm approx?
there is a tumor in lung
Best answer:
Answer by Denisedds
Deciding on the right treatment is not determined by tumor size and location alone. If this was treatment recommended to the patient their doctor should have explained why. If this explanation did not make sense or you or the patient is still not sure they should get another opinion. CyberKnife works very well and is more precise than regular radiation therapy. It is often recommended for use in lungs due to their constant movement, but it is not available everywhere.

No capital ‘T’ in ‘the’. it is a continuation of your lead sentence:

Right upper back/lung pain/ache?
Question by : Right upper back/lung pain/ache?
So it’s allergy season and it’s gotten pretty bad. I am an asthmatic as well and it only comes when I am sick (like now). But this is the first time there’s been an achy soreness or pain in my right lung/back area when I take deep breaths. Chest feels tight as well. Just wondering what this pain is and if it’s serious…or maybe I’ve just been coughing and wheezing a little too hard.

Justice: What’s The Right Thing To Do? Episode 01 “THE MORAL SIDE OF MURDER”
PART ONE: THE MORAL SIDE OF MURDER If you had to choose between (1) killing one person to save the lives of five others and (2) doing nothing even though you knew that five people would die right before your eyes if you did nothing—what would you do? What would be the right thing to do? Thats the hypothetical scenario Professor Michael Sandel uses to launch his course on moral reasoning. After the majority of students votes for killing the one person in order to save the lives of five others, Sandel presents three similar moral conundrums—each one artfully designed to make the decision more difficult. As students stand up to defend their conflicting choices, it becomes clear that the assumptions behind our moral reasoning are often contradictory, and the question of what is right and what is wrong is not always black and white. PART TWO: THE CASE FOR CANNIBALISM Sandel introduces the principles of utilitarian philosopher, Jeremy Bentham, with a famous nineteenth century legal case involving a shipwrecked crew of four. After nineteen days lost at sea, the captain decides to kill the weakest amongst them, the young cabin boy, so that the rest can feed on his blood and body to survive. The case sets up a classroom debate about the moral validity of utilitarianism—and its doctrine that the right thing to do is whatever produces “the greatest good for the greatest number.”

Do you think smokers and alcoholics have the right to sue if they get a disease?
Question by Point: Do you think smokers and alcoholics have the right to sue if they get a disease?
Not too long ago there was a news story about a man in Tampa that developed lung cancer after years of smoking.
His lawsuit was for $ 10 million, but was only awarded $ 260,000.
Since the 1930′s, doctors and pathologists have published information about the ill effects of smoking.
And in the early 1970′s, television and radio broadcasts were no longer allowed to air smoking ads.
So when does it become a personal responsibility versus a company’s fault for ones habit?

I have a spot on my right lung. How concerned should I be?
Question by douglas50_1999: I have a spot on my right lung. How concerned should I be?
This spot has been there for over 20 years and has showed up on x-rays of my lungs since. My doctor told me he just wanted to take a closer look and ordered the CT scan. I didn’t get the results of it and they called and had scheduled a PET scan. I haven’t received the results of that yet. I will get the results when I see a doctor next week. How concerned should I be? I had the spot biopsied in 1989 and it was benign

Question by Sydney T: The vet told us today our dog’s lungs are full of tumors and that she can do nothing for him. Right?
She said we could take him home for a day or two so we could say goodbye but we have to bring him back so that he can be put to sleep. She said it is probably advanced liver cancer causing all the tumors, we don’t want him to suffer but we love him so much and would do anything to save him.

I’m her only next of kin, and she has no health directives or anyone at home to care for her. But, she said she’ll be going home in a few weeks. Does the doctor order the discharge? She is in Stage 4 which has metastasized to her bones, nothing they can do. At least I know she’s being cared for at the nursing home. I am handicapped myself, and cannot care for her.

pain in back, under right shoulder blade, maybe lung?
Question by Mommy since 7/28/09: pain in back, under right shoulder blade, maybe lung?
my father is a smoker for years…he is 41 and he thinks he has lung cancer. he wont go to the doctors though, because he is scared it actually might be cancer. i know..stupid.
He has been feeling this pain in his back just under his right shoulder blade for about 7 months. Not constant, but every now and then when he takes deep breaths. smokers cough, but not every five minutes or anything. Not any bloody mucaus, i dont think. he actually has been gaining a little weight rather than loosing like lung cancer symptoms say and still has his appetite.
I know no one can diagnose him but it would clear my mind for now with other options, than cancer. He said he would let me set up an appt. after thanksgiving. please ease my mind untill then, if you can.
i dont think it is COPD. My father in-law has that and my dad doesnt seem to have those symptoms…

Q&A: An MRI shows a 1cm spot on my mom’s right lung.?
Question by : An MRI shows a 1cm spot on my mom’s right lung.?
My mom went in for an MRI on her lower abdemon and a 1cm spot was found on her lung. They are going to do a CT to see if there are other spots, she is 80 years old, never has smoked, what are the chances this is cancerous? Thank you for any helpful input.
Best answer:
Answer by melissa
A CT will give better imaging of her lungs but chances are if there weren’t more seen in the MRI they will be very small on the CT, if there at all. If its just the one spot that’s there chances are nothing will be done about it because it is so small. It would end up being a wait and see approach, if it is cancer at all. I hope everything turns out!
