I am 25 had mammo because lump was felt by me and doc. Had mammo they didnt see lump but increased density want ultrasound. I just want to know what most women have experianced when they where diagnosed, through the testing. I am just scared even if they find nothing suspicious because my grandpa was mis diagnosed several times by the time they figured out what he had they only gave him 3weeks to live he had terminal cancer, my aunt was diagnosed with bc at 32 and now my uncle has stage four lung cancer(never smoked) no one in family does they have no idea how it developed. They are all my paternal side of the family. I am just scared of being mis diagnosed.

My mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer twice, 10 years apart, most recently being back in 2008 and has had many metastases. She went for a mammogram a few weeks ago and and just told me that they found 3 calcifications. One doctor said it’s ok, just nothing but her oncologist wants to run more tests.
I try not to worry but it seems like every time a doctor thought it was nothing, her “asthma” diagnoses was really mets in her lungs and her “arthritis” was mets in her bone. What are the odds that calcifications in a two time breast cancer patient are benign?
She has been on chemo and Herceptin every week for 6 years, with small breaks in between chemo rounds. It has metasticized to her lungs, hip bone, liver and now colon in those 6 years.

I too am a breast cancer survivor and continue to show calcifications. I have bone pain as well…sometimes I wonder if it is more to worry about. It is always in the back of my mind. Let her oncologist run the tests….it’s better safe than sorry.

Yes,, I worked wit ha lady who got lung cancer and died at 45.
In my opinion, cancer is caused by a virus, not smoking. I don’t smoke, it is disgusting and does cause emphysema.

My father has stage 5 lung cancer. Hospice has been with us fir almost 2 months now. I am very confusd about his condition. the nurses tell us that it will be anyday now. He has not eaten in about 7 weeks, only takes sips of water through out the day, Pees on himseld ALOT), No Bowelmovement in over a month, sleeps all day, talks out of his head, blood pressure had been real low almost unreadable, pulse of about 110 or so. The Nurse told us 72 hours Friday and He is still here NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING just confused becuase he still pretty much has the same symptoms just asking for water more. Talking more but you really cant understand him. Still does nothing mostly but sleep. Has anyone’s loved one ever been through this kind of torture where there body has all the signs of end stage dying but nothing else changes? We pray with him daily I dont think now it is a spiritual thing just not sure. Can anone share there experience during the final weeks? PLEASE feel free to be graphic THAX

I truly sympathize for what you and your family are going through right now. I lost a close friend this last year in a very similar situation. It is unlikely that your dad is in pain, so please take some comfort from that. I don’t mean to be cruel, but from what you’re describing he is very close.

It means your lymph nodes are SLIGHTLY enlarged, but nothing bad. 1 cm or less is actually considered normal.
There really is not even info other then that to know what might be going on.

A young lady, only 54 years old, was diagnosed with lung cancer earlier this month and our whole church gathered hands and laid hands on her and we prayed hard with full faith and belief. When she went back to the doctor, no trace of cancer was found. She got two more opinions to make sure and again no trace of cancer. We were all very amazed at how the Lord our God answered our prayers and cured the woman of cancer. How great is our God? How wonderful and amazing??
Its times like them that fill my heart and make me think how can anyone be foolish enough to be an atheist or follow some silly other religion, when all they need is the Christian faith and Jesus Christ to be filled and saved. I have always believed rejection of Jesus Christ is as close to ignorant as one gets.

I am not aware of the hospital or the doctor. I know the lady because she goes to church with me and she was in the choir and sometimes cooked for church dinners. I do not keep up with her daily life and she only testified when she was sick and needed prayers and was healed. I am sorry your so anti Christian you feel I would stoop to lying to promote my belief but I have not. Anyone who would lie about cancer or make up a false story is a disturbed person. I am not this person, I am merely sharing a testimony with fellow Christians. I also am aware of false teachers and the Bible warns us of false teachers and false testimonies. But to accuse me of this is offensive and is really wrong of you to misjudge me.

Canadian team discovers gene that turns cancers off

A unique gene that can stop cancerous cells from multiplying into tumours has been discovered by a team of scientists at the B.C. Cancer Agency in Vancouver.
The team, led by Dr. Poul Sorensen, says the gene has the power to suppress the growth of human tumours in multiple cancers, including breast, lung and liver.
The gene, HACE 1, helps cells fight off stress that, left unchecked, opens the door to formation of multiple tumours.
Dr. Sorensen’s team found cancerous cells form tumours when HACE 1 is inactive, but when additional stress such as radiation is added, tumour growth is rampant.
Kick-starting HACE 1 prevented those cells from forming tumours.
The study appears in the advance online publication of Nature Medicine.

Yes, I saw this in our news. It’s still going to be a while before it’s being used in general medical treatment. The trials continue.

Duke’s Classification reveals the advancement of colon cancer in its respective forms where by in stages 1 and 2 there generally is no lymph node engagement. In stages 3 and 4 there is lymph node involvement and the medical prognosis is dismal. While the cancer has not outspread to the lymph nodes the probability of survival across a period determined in years is more than one-half. Notwithstanding, once the cancer has moved into the lymph nodes the medical prognosis is less than one-half.
Cancer that has outspread to the later stages is the most progressive. As the cancer metastasizes it rapidly can distribute to the liver, lungs, bones, and the brain. Numerous times the cancer that has not metastasized will be cared for but will come back in the future impacting additional organs. Additionally, the cancer would re-emerge and disperse throughout the other organs. It is manifestly worse if the cancer has spread to additional organs as addressing just one area is a good deal easier to address; all the same, that is not always the event.
Duke’s Classification specifically commences regarding the reality that later stages of colon cancer offer little hope. Once the cancer has dispersed to additional organs that are critical to life, then removing them or even portions of them is no longer an option. At that degree it is advisable to make the patient as comfortable as conceivable during their final time. No one can actually ascertain precisely when that time will be except our maker. My brothers best friend just got diagnosed with lung cancer and he does not smoke (but did for like 3 years).. but still isn’t very long! He is 24! It’s a scary thought! and very sad!

i believe that the youngest person to get lung cancer was about 28 years though he got cancer it was not entirely due to smoking,he some kind of stomach cancer which was malignant and it spread to his lungs
