cost wise,,,.. asbestos (breakable) , if u want unbreakable then go for pc sheets .

I have installed a home theater system in my home, in a separate room.
But I’m experiencing echo in the room. This is badly effect for the quality of sounds.
My Wales, floor and roof are made of hard materials (cement and asbestos sheets).
It is 14’ x 12’ and heignt is about 10’.
So I need a cheap solution for the echo issue.
I’m going to paste 1” thick regifrm sheets for the ceiling and cover the walls with curtain.
Will this be worked?
Can you give me an advice?

i’ve heard that gluing egg cartons to the walls and ceilings produces a “studio like” effect. haven’t done it myself but heard it works. good luck!

I was working in a 60′s house ceiling and the sheets on the ceiling were like gyprock but had a brown woven fabric inside. Does it sound like it contained asbestos?

In new construction it would be bad, since it would negatively impact the resell value of the property. If you are talking the past before the knowledge of asbestos problems was general, it would have been a great idea.

no, take some photos of it and give them a call say you will go to the media if they don’t do something about it.. watch how quick they come.. just make sure it is aspestos. when it is airborn (the particles) it can get into your lungs and with kids you don’t want them anywhere near it

asbestos is a mutagenic agent which means overtime exposure to it can cause cancer..im not sure about illegal but it sure is dangerous.

This question appears to relate to the physics involved in interruption within an ‘air magnetic’ circuit breaker.
It’s not so much a gas as it is a plasma. But it does contain gassified metals from the arc chutes and from the contacts.
Two things are happening. First, the design of the circuit breaker is such that the current in the arc flows through a conductor such that a force is created that extends the arc into the arc chutes. Then, the arc chutes cool the arc (plasma) to the point. The combination of extension and cooling leads to extinction of the arc.

Don’t work with asbestos so I have no idea what the dimensions are of your workpiece, how clean of an edge you need, or what would be required for dust containment so I can only guess without more detail.
Is it a small enough piece to fit into a sheet brake for a scored snap? Could you use a hand held band-saw at a low RPM?
Shears could be hydraulic but will wear out just as fast and portability may be an issue.
You are cutting rock no matter what you do and carbide sounds like a good choice for tool material.
Asbestos based products are a pretty small and specialized field – Yahoo! Answers is probably not the source of that kind of information. You probably would be better off contacting a manufacturer or the material supplier for their recommendations.
