Knowing cancer
Cancer is known as an abnormal division of cells which cannot be controlled. Even when new cells are not needed, they start to develop and divide forming a mass of tissue which is known as a tumour. The nature of the tumour can determine the consequences. Two types of tumours are known, (1) benign tumour and (2) malignant tumour. A benign tumour is not harmful in any way but a malignant tumour can be crucial. When a benign or a malignant tumour forms inside the colon, it is referred to by the term ‘colon’ cancer or ‘colorectal’ cancer. Colon cancer can interrupt the proper working and can damage the adjacent tissues and organs.
A part of the digestive system, the colon is the storehouse of waste materials. It comprises the large intestine, rectum and the anus. If your uncle has either TB or lung cancer (neither caused by alcohol) he will have a chronic and persistant cough). Even a cough may well just indicate tarred lungs rather than diseased ones.
Blood in the bathroom could be caused by diseased gums, or nose bleeds. Your uncle should have his blood pressure checked to be on the safe side if he is having persistent nose bleeds. he may just have a weak blood vessel that needs cauterising.

Use the vermiculite. It’s safe as long as it’s in a solid state. It’s when it get air born (from cutting with a saw, sanding etc.) that it becomes a problem.

First of all, that’s why it’s an experimental cancer treatment. They don’t know the side effects yet. That only happens when they get people who are willing to take part in the trials. You get the drug for free, then they monitor you carefully for any reaction. That’s where the side effects come in. Any and all side effects no matter how bad or not bad they are must be recorded. If they test this drug on say, 100 people and only 1 out of the 100 experiences something strange, it still has to be recorded as a possible side effect. So you probably tried to look this drug up on line and found nothing and you won’t, no one will because it is just and experimental treatment right now. This is why they can’t even tell the public right now of any possible side effects because the test are not completed. Are you going to take part in this trial?

My dad died from lung cancer but he had smoked all of his life. He died at 72. I have wondered the same thing that you asked.

It’s probably there because it used to be used as insulation around pipes and stuff.
Fine a reputable abatement company that can come and remove it safely. Don’t touch it or mess with it yourself.

Lung cancer typically doesn’t cause signs and symptoms in its earliest stages. Signs and symptoms of lung cancer typically occur only when the disease is advanced.
Signs and symptoms of lung cancer may include:
* A new cough that doesn’t go away

* Coughing up blood, even a small amount
* Shortness of breath
* Chest pain

When to see a doctor

* Excessive alcohol use. Drinking more than a moderate amount of alcohol — no more than one drink a day for women or two drinks a day for men — may increase your risk of lung cancer.
* Certain lung diseases. People with certain lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, may have an increased risk of lung cancer.

As a rule of thumb I hear usually anything made after 1980 is clear of asbestos, but you can never truly know without cutting it open and having it tested. So it’s best to just get a newer nato filter to use.

Smoking is very common that everybody knows it can cause lung cancer, throat or mouth cancer.
Exposure to asbestos is also related to mesothelioma cancer, a disease in the lungs.
Even if we are now living in the modern and high technology world, medical science still cannot find the complete remedy to cure cancer diseases. There are still no cures to cancer except to prevent it early. Some find hope for alternative and natural healing. Their strong beliefs that they can be cured in conventional or even alternative condition their mind and body to worry less which has great benefit in treating cancer.

If this is a gas stove soak the traps with warm water and scouring powder or baking soda or a good degreasing powder (like Spic and Span, oxy clean, etc.) scrub with a plastic scrubby, wipe up whats there and repeat if necessary, then you can use a Mr. Clean Eraser pad to get the rest. For an electric stove you can use steel wool on the trays, they won’t scratch or try the same procedure as with the gas stove. Soaking is really the key with some elbow grease. Good luck.

Did you know that in 2005 in the U.S.A., 26,781 men and 27,259 women died from colorectal (colon) cancer? Those are terrifying figures, yet they are true. For men, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer after prostate and lung cancers. For women, this cancer is the third most common after breast and lung cancers.
Possibly we can reduce these statistics. If everybody aged 50 or older had regular screening tests, as many as 60% of deaths from colorectal cancer could be prevented.
Colorectal cancer screening saves lives. Screening can find precancerous polyps, abnormal growths in the colon or rectum, so that they can be removed before turning into cancer. Screening also helps find colorectal cancer at an early stage, when treatment often leads to a cure.
If you are aged 50 or older, or think you may be at higher than average risk for colorectal cancer, speak with your doctor about getting screened.
What is the Colon?
The colon is the end portion of our digestive system. It is where foods that are not digested by the small intestine are stored for several hours up to a few days. Also, most of the absorption of vitamins, minerals, and water take place in the colon. The bulks of food that are no longer in use and toxins that are present from the food, are then eliminated from the body in the form of the feces.
What is Colon Cancer?
Colon cancer can simply be defined as the cancer of the colon or the large intestine. Most cases of this illness start as a small and benign clumps of cells in the intestine, which is known as adenomatous polyps. As time goes by, these polyps multiply rapidly and develop into cancers.
Polyps are hard to detect in an early stage because they produce only a few symptoms. Sometimes, no symptoms are manifested not unless the condition is in its later stages. Once the signs of a cancer appear the individual experiences a change in bowel habits, persistent abdominal pain and cramping, accumulation of gas and presence of blood in the stool.
Why do People Develop Colon Cancer?
When the healthy cells in the colon are altered, they become at risk for the development of cancer. To keep the body functioning normally, the cells need to grow and divide in an orderly manner. There are really times when cells grow out of control, even if new cells are not needed by the system.
The most common cause of the development of this disease occurs when one has a history of the illness and polyps in the family. Other known causes are inflammatory bowel disease, high alcohol intake, diabetes, diet that is high in fats and cholesterol, lack of exercise, obesity, smoking, and a diet that is deficient in vegetables, whole grains, and fruits.
What are the Available Colorectal Cancer Treatments?
The three standard treatment options are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.
1. Chemotherapy – most oncologists recommend chemotherapy for colon cancers that are already in stage 2. For stage 3 and stage 4 colon cancers, chemotherapy is still recommended but should be used in combination with biologic therapy in order to target specific cancer cells. The chemicals being used aids the body to get rid of the cancerous cells and prevent them from rapidly dividing.
2. Radiation Therapy -individuals who are scheduled for surgery are advised to undergo radiation therapy to shrink the tumor. After the surgery, another session of a radiation therapy is needed to prevent the tumor from ever coming back. In some cases, there are tumors that can hardly be removed with surgery, so radiation therapy is used to destroy the cancer cells.The most common type of radiation therapy that is used for the treatment of colon cancer is the external radiation. These kinds of therapies are quick but should be done frequently to insure that the cancerous cells are destroyed.
3. Surgery – the most common surgery for colon cancer is the colostomy. Colostomy is a surgical procedure wherein the surgeon will create an opening in the abdominal wall, which becomes an alternative exit of wastes products from the colon. While colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the United States, it is the most preventable major cancer. Improvements in prevention, early detection, and treatment have greatly reduced the death toll from this disease, said Dr. J. Randolph Hecht, clinical professor of medicine and director, GI Oncology Program, Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and member of the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center.

Lungs are one of the most important parts of your body, which helps you to breathe. We intake oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. The quality of air that we intake results in the good or bad health of our lungs. There are many types of lung diseases like asthma, bronchitis, allergy, lung cancer, Sarcoidosis, Interstitial lung disease, Tuberculosis, sleep apnea etc. There are different causes for these diseases but the following are the basic points that can be considered to protect the lung disease.
1. If you don’t smoke, don’t start!
2. If you smoke or use tobacco, quit. Quitting is the most important thing you can do to keep your lungs healthy and prevent disease. Smoking damages your lungs and increases your risk for a number of diseases including lung cancer. It’s never too late to quit.
3. Teach your children about the dangers of smoking and be a role model by not smoking or by quitting now.
4. Avoid second-hand smoke. Breathing the smoke from cigarettes and pipes increases your risk for the same diseases that affect people who smoke. Don’t allow smoking in your home, in the car, or at work.
5. Many lung diseases are highly contagious so one has to make sure that they wash their and hands and cover their coughs and sneezes as this may result in common viral infections such as cough, cold and flu. Wash your hands properly as your hands can carry a lot of germs and your chances of falling ill may increase.
6. Do your best to control outdoor air pollution and keep the air we breathe clean.
7. Learn about indoor air pollution and what you can do to reduce your exposure. For example, turn on the exhaust fan when you cook and avoid using aerosol products (e.g. aerosol can of hair spray).
8. Regular physical exercise is good for your whole body and especially your lungs. Exercise makes your lungs stronger and better.
9. Pay attention to your health at work. Avoid breathing toxic fumes from chemicals, solvents, and paints. Wear a protective mask when you work with chemicals and report unsafe working conditions.
10. At work or at home stay away from asbestos. Always wear protective clothing including a facemask if you are working with asbestos.
11. Check if there are high levels of Radon gas at your home or workplace. People working in mines are often exposed to Radon gas. Kits are found in hardware stores that help in measuring the amount of Radon gas at home.
12. Eat a healthy diet. Use a plenty of fruits and green vegetables in your diet.
13. The Indian way of Yoga, Pranayam (Breathing exercise) is also very helpful in protecting your lungs.
