I had a CAT scan in december? and i was wondering. If i had breast cancer would it show up on a CAT scan of the heart and/or lungs?
I dont think it was very recent… I first thought i might have it like 2 years ago… but never went to the doctor or anything.

I have frequent CT scans due to my lung cancer. A couple of years ago, a suspicious shadow was seen on one of my breasts so was sent for a mammogram.. luckily it came back negative. So I would say a mammo would be more accurate than a CT scan for early detection of breast cancer.

If you smoke and you still don’t believe that there’s a definite link between smoking and bronchial troubles, heart disease and lung cancer, then you are certainly deceiving yourself. No one will accuse you of hypocrisy. Let us just say that you are suffering from a bad case of wishful thinking. This needn’t make you too uncomfortable because you are in good company. Whenever the subject of smoking and health is raised, the governments of most countries hear no evil, see no evil an smell no evil. Admittedly, a few governments have taken timid measures. In Britain, for instance, cigarette advertising has been banned on television continues to puff its way to smoky, cancerous death.
You don’t have to look very far to find out why the official reactions to medical findings have been so lukewarm. The answer is simply money. Tobacco is a wonderful commodity to tax. It’s almost like a tax on our daily bread. In tax revenue alone, the government of Britain collects enough from smokers to pay for its entire educational facilities. So while the authorities point out ever so discreetly that smoking may, conceivably, be harmful, it doesn’t do to shout too loudly about it.

I am having a hard time breathing and seem to have attacks that come on all of a sudden. Also I t feels like something stuck in my lungs..I cannot remeber any signs when I was growing up. Is it possible to start showing signs of cystic fibrosis in my 30′s?

I don’t think it is possible. People with this condition often don’t live to the age of 30. You might have an infection especially if you smoke

My home daycare provider’s husband was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer last week. It is a very small center with only 4 young children. My daughter (1year old) has been under this woman’s care for the last 9 months and her husband is retired so while he doesn’t help care for the children he does interact with them quiet a bit. I wanted to do something nice but I am at a loss for what would be appropriate. This woman does an excellent job with my daughter and I am assuming that any day she will be cancelling our contract to take care of her husband’s medical needs. I don’t want to seem insensitive and bluntly ask if she plans to continue to work but I need to know to arrange childcare. How long would you wait to ask what the family’s plans are? Would you do something nice to show support?

Maybe she will still continue to work? Medical bills can get expensive.
I’m sure she will let you know if she is planning to close her daycare. It is her business and she is a professional. She wouldn’t just leave you high and dry after paying her for 9 months.

i brought 1 female rat (skits) from a pet shop about 6 weeks ago, she is now 13 weeks old and 3 days ago i brought a new rat (remy 5 weeks old) to keep her company.i skipped the quaritine (i no i shouldnt have)
DAY 1: I put their cages next to each other so that they could smell each other but not touch. then i noticed remy sneezing but didnt think much of it as i brought her home in the cold and thought that might be the reason for her sneezing.
DAY 2:in the evening i put both of them in the bath together, then a few hours later i did the same.remy is still sneezing.
DAY3: i put them in the bath again and few hours later i did it again, then i noticed skits sneeze twice.
i know that there is a chance that skits might have sneezed because she sniffed in dust or for some other reason but i am just worried incase remy has an illness and i have spread it.
so my question is if remy has a respiratory disease, could she have passed it on to skits.
theres no blood like stuff on them.
they are both females.
there is no blood any where on her.
i got remy from pets at home and went back there at 8 oclock today (20th) and told them that she was ill and that she was like it when i brought her and the women said that she will book her in with the vets at pets at home as she has a 7 day gaurantee and that it would be free to get her seen and for her treatment. the women also said that i might get her back before xmas (i hope i do =))
i hope its not respiratory disease,i hope its something she just does., but if it is it looks like skits will be off to the vets =( thank you for your helpful info

Last night? She was at the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, it broke my heart to see how these people live Kids who gobble down their free lunches at school on Mondays because many of them had no food over the weekend. This makes me sick to see how the government took their lands then force them to live below poverty, no jobs, schools with asbestos in floors, no books, no warm clothes.
Why the hell are we sending aid to Israel, Haiti, Africa and God knows how many others when such desperation exists right here/
I for 1 am going to be sending some warm winter goods to the reservation..how about you.
I agree with you soap and water are cheap so there is no reason to live in a dirty house.
I have gone to this reservation on a vacation and did see how they live..unbelievable, kids just hanging around or playing with an old car tire, men drunk at 10 am..anyway..I believe they want a mall because the badlands are right there many people do visit them (and they’re beautiful) I think they believe if they had a mall not only would it supply some jobs, but draw tourists to shop for the things they make and try to sell. It’s also quite a haul to a restaurant unless you want to eat at the 1 place near the reservation which has the same menu every day..same food. A McDonald’s again would supply some jobs and draw visitors.

I feel sorry for the kids but it is an Indian reservation for their culture. It’s suppose to be their own little community. I think what they are lacking is people with skills and leadership. I can imagine the doctors being poor there because there’s not a huge population. one kid said he wish they had a mall or something there and I thought why would people go all the way there to a mall. I can probably see some kind of vacation resort there for people who have money but common folk aren’t going to travel like that. The next town over only has like 15 people there. The alcohol problem is really bad there. You can be poor and keep your house clean too.
The guy said there’s a lot of government regulations that they have to follow.

I’m doing a project about smoking, and would like good quality medical photographs to show the effects and trauma that smoking and tobacco products cause like cancerous lungs, Emphysema, heart disease, mouth and throat cancer- and other malignant diseases.
Also, I would like photographs of actual surgery involving patients who have smoked.
Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of these types of photographs? Any websites, medical picture libraries, other sources etc. Actually – the more shocking they are, the better!
