Answer by BabeHart
The radiation used to treat cancer is not the same as what causes skin cancer. Many cancers are treated with radiation to help shrink tumors…or after cancer removal to “sterilize” the area the cancer had been and hopefully prevent a recurrence of the cancer.
I finished 33 radiation treatments in early Nov to help prevent my breast cancer from returning. Read up on radiation treatment for cancert so you can better understand how it works and why it is used. Yes, radiation treatments can cause undesirable side effects but it is considered more beneficial than harmful and only lasts for a limited time. Once a particular body part has been through radiation treatment for cancer, it cannot be treated with radiation ever again. That’s not to say it cannot be x-rayed or have other tests done that use radiation, but it cannot be treated with radiation again as it was for the cancer.

Unitone Advanced 4 (Spot treatment Product) , skin inflammation?
Question by M.III: Unitone Advanced 4 (Spot treatment Product) , skin inflammation?
Unitone Advanced 4 (Spot treatment Product) , skin inflammation?
One year ago I used this serum on my skin because I had a hyper-pigmentation problem. it was prescribed by a doctor and I used it for almost 3 weeks but then it caused me inflammation and my skin became red and a bit burning for some days, then it was okay… but it left some dark brown marks that burns whenever something acidic touches my skin( otherwise it’s okay, not fading but does not hurt or grow), it’s been a year now!… I was shocked when I knew that the serum is banned in other countries!
What should I do, is this skin cancer??
Best answer:
Answer by Michael
It’s no sooner cancer than an inflammation caused by that serum. You should know there will be no remedy for hyperpigmentation available, nowadays. Keep cool, no danger.

Skin Cancer Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Arms and Legs

Dr. Shane Chapman, MD discusses Skin Cancer Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Arms and Legs. See more at www.dermnet.com PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! Marjolin’s ulcer is a term that refers to malignant changes occurring in chronic ulcers and wounds of the skin, sinuses and previous burns. Most lesions are reported in burns. The majority of these lesions are found on the extremities. Development times for burn scar carcinomas of more than 30 years have been noted. Different cultures appear to have markedly different susceptibilities to Marjolin’s ulcer. Japan, Northern India, and China report high incidences of burn-scar carcinoma. SCCs that occur at sites of chronic inflammation are more aggressive than those that develop from actinic keratoses or Bowen’s disease. Their appearance is masked by inflamed hypertrophic tissue. The overall metastatic rate is greater than 40%. The incidence of regional lymph node involvement from burn-scar carcinoma is approximately 35%. The 5-year survival rate for lower extremity lesions is approximately 30%. Because of the focal nature of malignant change in burn scars, excisional biopsy should be performed. Punch biopsies may be negative. Wide local excision has proven unreliable for grade II and grade III disease; amputation and prophylactic node irradiation is recommended. Wide local excision is reserved only for very small lesions that can be radically excised or for grade I lesions.

Is it possible for Melanoma Cancer, a skin cancer, to spread to your lungs?
Question by : Is it possible for Melanoma Cancer, a skin cancer, to spread to your lungs?
My boyfriend is always trying to lie his way back into my life. This time, he has Melanoma that spread to his lungs. Just wanted to know if that was even possible.
Best answer:
Answer by Tommy
Yes. Once Melanoma has metastasized is can spread anywhere throughout the body’s lymphatic system. If it has spread, then it is possible that his cancer is in a more aggressive stage. Melanoma is relatively simple to treat and cure in early stages, however once it begins to spread beyond the initial location it becomes lethal very quickly. If you still care for the guy then I would advise you to offer a friendly shoulder (This doesnt mean you have to date), otherwise you may not get a chance to make amends later.

How long can a person with stage 4 lymphatic survive with no treatment? The cancer was also on the skin.?
Question by : How long can a person with stage 4 lymphatic survive with no treatment? The cancer was also on the skin.?
It is also spreading to other locations. I want a definite answer, not any B.S. about living with hope. The docs said 6 months at the time of diagnosis. It has been 3, and the person is starting to get sick everyday really bad. Please a real answer so I can try to mentally prepare myself. Thanks in advance.
The start of the whole problem was colon cancer, that my mother-in-law never got treated. then there was a spot on her foot. It grew, and grew. She didn’t have it checked out because my Father-in-law was sick with pancreatic cancer and dying, and didn’t want to worry him any. I took her to the appointment when she found out about the colon rectal stuff. After my father-in-law passed away, My wife and I finally got her to go to the docs. They told her the spot on her foot was nothing, and she didn’t do anything about it. She went to her primary a couple months later because the spot got bigger, went to a specialist, and found out that it was cancer. Did blood work and found out that it was also in her lymph nodes. She had surgical removal of the melanoma on her foot. they did a graft from her side. It didn’t take. In fact it turned black and got all infected and looked like a zombie bit her foot. They did another surgery where they took the vein from her arm, put it in her foot. Skin f

the effect of skin cancer
Best answer:
Answer by elvis
There are different forms of skin cancer. The most dangerous one, melanoma, is one that is most concering. Although it is rare.
The symptoms are typically a large, unusual shaped mole that is changing in size and appearence. Often they ulcerate, bleed, and itch also. If the Melanoma is contained to the skin, it is removed by surgery alone. If the cancer has invade the body, lymph system, or any organs, there are various forms of chemo and other treatments that must be taken.

My dad has stage 4 melanoma skin cancer spread to the lungs how long will he have to live?
Question by Gina S: My dad has stage 4 melanoma skin cancer spread to the lungs how long will he have to live?
My dad has been struggling with cancer for about 4 yrs now. The first time the cancer was found in the bladder, kidneys. He now has only one kidney. Later he was diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer at stage 3. Back in Nov 2007 he had a surgery removing some lymph nodes and then he began chemo shortly after which made him to sick and he quit taking it after about 3 wks. That was December07-Jan08 about 3wks ago in May 08 they found that the cancer has spread to the lungs and I believe there are 2nodes in each lung and now I was told my dad has stage 4 melanoma skin cancer. I just want some information I have a 10yr old son and his papaw is his world. My dad is only 54 yrs old I want to know what the lifspan is. All honesty be blunt I need to know and prepare myself and my son.
Best answer:
Answer by TC
First let me say that I feel for you and your child. I have seen melanoma take a mans life fairly quickly after it has metastasized. I did interval Sonography on a patient w/ late stage melanoma and once it went to the lung/liver it gets real aggressive; the prognosis for anything over six-month survival was grim.

Skin canser treatment in under 18′s?
Question by : Skin canser treatment in under 18′s?
Hello, I have a friend on Myspace, me and my friends are sure we have saw the photo’s she is using before but can not remember where? She is saying she has skin cancer. A lot of people she is friends with are friends with us and they a few of them have been affected by cancer is some form or another.
This is a quote from her “I’ve got skin cancer so it is inside me an I can’t get anything done till I am 18 and I am only 17 so it’s a waiting game!”
does it sound right to you?
And also if it is right what treatment do you then get?
Best answer:
Answer by G’hound
Sounds like a story to me. If it was skin cancer that went ‘inside’ then that would pobably be Melanoma which must be treated immediately. Maybe she has cosmetic issues that can only be sorted out whe she reaches the age of majority when she can give permission without parental consent?
