My grandfather has been having problems of incontinence because he has had a stim for his back pain emplanted. He then went to the urologist to check out this problem. The urologist inserted a camera
up his urinary tract to check for cancer or liasons. Everthing appears well. About 48 hrs later he became very weak and was rushed to one the hospital. My grandfather had contracted 2 sevre bacteria in his urinary tract, ecoli and other bacteria. They treated him quickly, and when he was about to be released they noticed he was short of breath and discovered he had a polmunary emblism. They treated him with a blood thinner called coumadin to deal with the problem. Soon after a hematoma on his kidney developed. My grandfather has had a leaky heart valve for many years now, is it true that coumadin increases the chance for abdominal bleeding in patients with leaky hearts? Anyway now my grandfather is recieving blood transfusions because of the hematoma, and now his lungs are filling with liquid. Does anyone know a great southern California hospital or any hospial that is wel known for helping someone in his situation? And can someone answer my question about coumadin? Thanks very much!!

Does regions such as northern and southern states play a role in the age in which one may die from chest colds in the lungs and could chest cold turn into lung cancer? Being in a hotter climate with more warmer season say “the south” there are less chances of cancer from climate like “the north”. However cigarettes users are still at risk. In the north is the age of the elderly younger then those in “the south” because of the winter weathers? I thought of this having a dream of what a chest x-ray would look like showing a chest cold. Then I looked for a picture of a x-ray with chest cold on the internet. A chest cold on the elderly could be tough especially with sever coughing. I lived in Michigan and in Virginia. It seems that I’ve had more head, chest, and upper respiratory infections in Michigan. I do believe from wearing my head bald and cold winter nights. All of these questions reflect back to the elder. Balding hair causing more head colds, cold in the chest turning into cancer in the chest…..I’m no doctor but does any of this makes sense.

what wacko have you been listening to. the human body has been so studied that i doubt there is absolutely nothing not known about it. its function and physiology has been mapped from birth to death, there is no lost area. so looking at your question, medical science is well aware of basic illnesses and what effects they have on the human body, and how the body responds to, and defends from outward or inward attacks. within a narrow band of absolute the body does not differ in its overall responses whether you are young or old. genetics per the individual can play a large roll in a persons response to some things, enviromental impact can produce chronic life threatening illnesses for anyone, (for instance breathing coal dust over years of mine working and without proper breathing protection, can result in an devastating illness). but environmental hot -cold regions, drivel. i lived in the southpole for a while and didnt get sick, eskimos, mongolians, siberians all live in unusually cold type environs; arabs, african saharns, and california mohjave residients all live in extreme heat conditions. when all is said and done people adapt to the environment in which they live. rapid changes to their comfort zones may produce short term illness as the body has to go through readjustment but cancers, pneumonias, or brain meltdowns, are not scientifically known or understood to be associated with north south, hot cold interfacing.
so going back to your basic premise, age and dying from a chest cold, no. however as one ages the immune system among other factors, hormones and enzymes, all work less effectively. thus when the elderly get sick, say a tough cold, or better yet the flu, they give way to other illnesses which when young the body was able to defend against. the elderly often die of pneumonia or lung infections that are secondary to the primary illness, but in these days lung problems can be treated effectively, thus prolonging life. before 1900 death rates from flu and pneumonia alone reduced the life span average to well under fifty. just given the benefit of penicillin alone life spans jumped probably 10 to 15 years. add to that effective medical intervention for basic illnesses like strep, congestive heart failure, measels, small pox, and rubella, and a host of others, the life span has shot up to well over 60 on average. so age is relative. baring that one doesnt contract a life theatening pathology like bubonic plague, mesothelioma in the lung, bacterial meningitis, or suffer massive coronary occlusion, stroke, or emboli, then likely as not the typical human being residing anywhere on the planet will live out an old age through all kinds of colds, flus, sinuses, headaches, backaches, and such. but for gods sake quit reading the stuff your reading, it will warp your mind.

Since asbestos has not been used for years in buildings it is probably a relatively low amount. Although any airborne asbestos is bad and should be considered a hazard. Wear a mask, even the painters type as it will reduce the amount of dust and the larger particles that you breathe in.
I think that you’ll have more danger from all the other toxins in the smoke more than the asbestos. There have to be quite a few in all those different materials that are being burnt. Personally I’d move upwind of all that.

Slim. Asbestos was banned from being used in paint/drywall compound in the late 1060′s or early 1970′s. The only reason there might be some there, would be if a contractor still had a supply in his warehouse. They were allowed to use up what they had.
