Kassidy Foster Tribute ~ I Still Miss You

Kassidy Jordan Foster December 10, 1994 – July 16, 2007 Taken from her site www.kassidyspage.com My name is Kassidy Foster and I was 12-year-old sixth grader at Check Elementary School. I was also a level 7 gymnast at Virginia Techniques Gymnastics and a member of Faith Fellowship Church. On Thursday, March 29, 2007, I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma – the most common type of bone cancer. The doctors have found cancerous cells on my right femur near the knee and close to my hip. They’ve also found cancerous cells in my chest between my heart and lungs. I started chemotherapy on April 4th. The doctors said I would need 40 weeks of treatments that would end in December. My main tumor was on my right knee. At first the treatments appeared to be working …but they were not. On May 3rd, I had to have my right leg amputated up to my hip. I returned to Roanoke to continue my treatments. No matter what type of chemotherapy my doctors gave me, my cancer continued to grow throughout my body. On July 9th, I went on my Make-a-Wish trip to California where I was treated like a movie star, rode in limousine and got treated with a day of shopping. I returned home on Thursday July 12th where I started having difficulty breathing. My parents took me to the hospital on July13th, and I went to Heaven on July16th. Please also watch the videos of Kassidy’s amazing Gymnastics, especially the video that this one is in response to called “Praise you in this storm – Kassidy Foster” in High quality.

Dr. Shane Chapman, MD discusses Skin Metastasis Breast. See more at www.dermnet.com PLEASE RATE AND COMMENT!!! About 70% of all cutaneous metastases in women are related to breast cancer. Skin involvement occurs in 24% of breast cancer cases. It is the presenting sign 3.5% of the time. Several distinct clinical patterns of metastatic breast cancer are recognized 1. Inflammatory metastatic breast carcinoma resembles erysipelas in the anterior chest but without fever or tenderness. It is caused by capillary congestion. 2. En cuirasse metastatic breast carcinoma is a diffuse morphea-like induration of skin that begins as scattered, firm, lenticular papulonodules that coalesce. Local lymphatic spread is possible. 3. Telangiectatic metastatic carcinoma, the violaceous papulovesicles resemble lymphangioma circumscriptum. There is local lymphatic spread. It may be pruritic and may resemble vasculitis. 4. Nodular metastatic carcinoma, multiple firm papules or nodules appear on the anterior chest. They may be ulcerated and may suggest melanoma or pigmented basal cell carcinoma. 5. Alopecia neoplastica has asymptomatic, non-inflammatory, circular areas of alopecia. There is distant hematogenous spread. 6. Paget’s disease of the breast, there is a sharply defined plaque of erythema and scaling on the breast, suggestive of eczema, but the eruption is persistent. It is usually unilateral but may be bilateral. This represents a direct spread from underlying breast cancer. The most …

How much time do we have left before she goes? Or, does she still have a fighting chance?
Question by tab227: How much time do we have left before she goes? Or, does she still have a fighting chance?
My aunt is 53 and has been suffering from cancer for about 4 years, she has undergone radiation and kimo treatment for breast, liver and a couple other places and has fought hard through it. She has been doing great for the last few months until recently when they found her to have cancer in her brain, they started radiation treatment this last month and she’s been having a hard time with it.
She was found unconscious this morning and rushed by ambulance to the hospital where they put her in ICU. The doctors said her organs were beginning to shut down and gave her children two options; to let her die or to work with her aggressively. Her children asked them to work with her and they rushed her over to the shock-trauma unit where they are hoping she will be a little better by morning.
I am close with my aunt and I am having a really hard time with this. I want to ask to go see her but with my cousins going through this shock I don’t want to stress anyone out even more by treading where I shouldn’t at such a sensitive time. I really, really want to see her right away if she might not make it.
Is there a chance she’ll pull through this? Or, is she going? If so, how much time?
Best answer:
Answer by Denisedds
Your cousins should let the family come and say good-bye to her.
If you are asking if she can be cured the answer is no.
No way of knowing how much time she has. If your cousins insist and she has not made her wishes known, it can be dragged out for quite awhile.

Can a person who suffers from COPD still travel to Thailand?
Question by seafrontane: Can a person who suffers from COPD still travel to Thailand?
The person has just been discharged from hospital with very mild Pneumonia and has been successfully treated with antibiotics and steroids and is fully recovered.
Best answer:
Answer by Doxycycline
Best to ask the treating doctor as she’ll be much more familiar with your case than us. From what you described, I don’t see why not. I’m presuming the patient isn’t on oxygen on a regular basis; I’m also presuming that the patient will be remaining in the parts of Thailand where medical help can be readily found should things get worse.
Might consider buying travel insurance so if the patient gets ill overseas, s/he won’t be on the hook for a massive bill! Most US based insurance does not cover treatment undertaken overseas..

How do I show support for my child’s daycare provider AND ask if she still plans to continue working?
Question by frankie: How do I show support for my child’s daycare provider AND ask if she still plans to continue working?
My home daycare provider’s husband was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer last week. It is a very small center with only 4 young children. My daughter (1year old) has been under this woman’s care for the last 9 months and her husband is retired so while he doesn’t help care for the children he does interact with them quiet a bit. I wanted to do something nice but I am at a loss for what would be appropriate. This woman does an excellent job with my daughter and I am assuming that any day she will be cancelling our contract to take care of her husband’s medical needs. I don’t want to seem insensitive and bluntly ask if she plans to continue to work but I need to know to arrange childcare. How long would you wait to ask what the family’s plans are? Would you do something nice to show support?
Best answer:
Answer by Mallory
Maybe she will still continue to work? Medical bills can get expensive.
I’m sure she will let you know if she is planning to close her daycare. It is her business and she is a professional. She wouldn’t just leave you high and dry after paying her for 9 months.

Why are people still talking about tort reform?
Question by Adam B: Why are people still talking about tort reform?
I keep hearing people, always conservatives, talking about “tort reform” as if it would solve the massive increase in American health care costs. What’s wrong with these people? Now that we know that “tort reform” was nothing but a PR scam started by the tobacco and asbestos industries,
http://legacy.library.ucsf.edu/tid/lao00e00
and that most states ALREADY have these laws on the books, and that we’re talking about less than 2% of our total medical costs anyway for ALL costs related to judgments and medical liability insurance,
http://www.cbo.gov/doc.cfm?index=4968&type=0
Why is anyone still talking about this?
Best answer:
Answer by BekindtoAnimals22
The CBO just said last week that tort reform would amount to about 54 billion over 10 years. But, hey, when you do everything in trillions, I guess you’re right. Why bother trying to save a paltry little 54 billion. What a joke. They can just take it from the old people. $ 500 billion in cuts to Medicare should get rid of a few million boomers rather quickly.

Why are people still donating money to cure aids and cancer?
Question by Jesus Reigns: Why are people still donating money to cure aids and cancer?
It’s already been cured… once you know what the problem is, it doesn’t take long to figure out how to fix it. There are already drugs to cure both of these and natural cures. I find it hard to believe that there are still people out there who don’t know this already. It makes me sick what people will do for money. They don’t care how many people have to die in ignorance so that they can live in bliss.
Why should I do your homework? If you want to know where I get my information, look it up for yourself. I’m not force feeding any information down anyone’s throat.
I’m not a heartless person.
I know one thing; all my cancer related family deaths started when they were diagnosed with cancer and put on chemo.
Also, the way the world works.. it would be practically impossible for people in other countries to get a hold of what they need to cure their cancer.. also, the medicine that is supposed to help with aids, etc is way too expensive. Why does everyone think everything costs a lot of money?? The person selling it is GREEDY. It should not be UNaffordable. That’s bull and you know it. What I am saying is that the only reason people are dying from these things is because of greedy people and I think it’s messed up that there are people out there who are okay with that and think we should just keep paying up.

Do people honestly still buy into reefer madness? Even the commision that Nixon formed in order to investigate marijuana found that it was not a dangerous drug but he made it illegal anyways. Why are people so ignorant of the facts? They all blabber on about how bad marijuana is while they sip there gin, when will America wake up and realize marijuana is not a dangerous drug but rather one that can help a lot of people.
In Genesis doesn’t it say something about god saying “And I give all seed-bearing plants to you.”. Well marijuana is seed-bearing just to let all you Christians know.

My mom still has arm and hand tremors 6 months after surgery?
Question by : My mom still has arm and hand tremors 6 months after surgery?
In June 2011, my mom had an open lung biopsy.
From that day and ever since, she has suffered from tremors (very bad shakes) in her arms and hands. They come and go.
She has been advised to go and see a neurologist and various people have suggested it might be MS.
I don’t believe this could be the case as it started directly after the surgery. Both her pulminologist and cardiologist do not know the cause.
Any other ideas?
Best answer:
Answer by pcheesewhiz
Hi Brett, let me first say that the chances of your Mom having MS is less than 1%. Also no matter what symptom you google, MS will come up. That is because MS involves the nervous system and the nervous system plays a part in everything from voluntary and involuntary muscle movement, perception, the emotions and cognition. In other words, just about any symptom could be attributed to MS. As a consequence the first disease that people think of when they hear any symptom is MS. Nothing could be further from the truth. How do I know this? I have MS myself.
When doctors cannot find the cause of a problem, they send the patient off to either a psychiatrist or neurologist. In your Mom’s case, they chose a neurologist who is a specialist in brain function. Frankly, any competent neurologist will tell you the truth. Science knows very little about the brain and why it malfunctions. In fact, it is common knowledge that researchers know only about 9% about what the brain does and how it does it. The other 91% of knowledge that science needs to know in order to help us remains unknown. Chances are that a neurologist will tell your Mom that she has some type of neuropathy meaning that some type of nervous system malfunction is occurring in her brain.
There are also two other reason that I can think of that could be causing your Mom this problem. First off, it could be a known or unknown side effect of prescription and/or non-prescription drug that she has taken. There are hundreds of drugs and drug combinations that can cause tremors.
There is a chance that the tremors will stop over time. A friend of mine who is a medical photographer had a lung operation. Directly after the operation, both her left arm and fingers and right arm and fingers were numb. She said that she had photographed that very operation many times over. Turns out that when the surgeon does this particular operation, they affix the arms over the head to get them out of the way. This in turn can pinch a nerve and cause temporary problems that disappear as soon as the nerves heals. So the tremors could be due to something the doctors did.
I suppose that there are many other reasons she could be experiencing the tremors. Hopefully, other people will take the time to share their thoughts about this with you here on yahoo.
My best to you and your Mom.

Still The Same (A Benny Parsons Tribute)

This is Bradk12fan’s tribute to Benny Parsons. 35 years ago today, Benny Parsons won the 1975 Daytona 500. Benny Parsons won the 1968 and 1969 ARCA series championships. In 1972 Benny Parsons became the only man to win both the ARCA and Winston Cup series championships, when at Rockingham, Benny and his team rallied back from a lap 12 wreck to finish and capture the Winston Cup Series Championship. Benny would race for many teams during his career including Hendrick Motorsports, where he filled in for an ailing Tim Richmond. An incident between Benny and his crew chief Harry Hyde would go on to inspire the ‘ice cream pitstop’ scene in the 1990 movie ‘Days of Thunder’ which starred Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, and Robert Duvall. Benny died January 16, 2007 after a long fight with lung cancer. RIP Benny. Benny was most well known for his time as a broadcaster, and live commentator for TNN, TNT, and NBC after he had retired from racing. I DO NOT claim any of the music, footage, or photos in this video as my own.
Why are cigarettes still legal?
Question by natashaiera: Why are cigarettes still legal?
I understand that 50 years ago we did not know how harmful cigarettes were to our bodies, but now that we’re more educated, and know that cigarettes slowly kill you, why is it legal to smoke them? Not only do you kill yourself by smoking them, but you’re making everyone around you suffer for their poor decisions. So many people have died of serious diseases such as lung cancer when they don’t even smoke. Isn’t it illegal to commit suicide? So isn’t it the same thing?
Best answer:
Answer by in vino veritas
For the same reason alcohol, automobiles, guns, airplanes, prescription drugs etc. ad infinitum are still legal…
…they all can kill a person.

Now that I have quit it seems like I’m coughing even more. is my body trying to clean it self ?will it go away? I know most people will say to see a doctor ( not happening) they only want your money and to give a percription that cost even more money.
I know the coughing wont go away like magic and it will take some time ,I was just wondering about how much time . I also realize that the damage may already be to far and that no amount of time will change anything I look forward to hearing from you . dreamcatcher

What are the chances of still having lung Cancer?
Question by Mee Mee: What are the chances of still having lung Cancer?
I quit smoking back in march 2008 on this day and been smoke free ever since. I want to know what are the chances of me having cancer since I have excessive mucus build up in my left lung and chest pains that come every once in a while on the left side or on both sides.
Plus when I have colds I have grey to black mucus any suggestions?
Best answer:
Answer by always b natural
You should really discuss this with your dr, as this seems
very extreme.
However, just generally, it takes yrs for a smoker’s cancer rate
to drop down to that of a non-smoker. A lot depends on how
long the smoking went on for, the amount of exposure, the
type of exposure, genetics, etc.
