Why do we not listen to all the advice given about smoking when were young, were doing ourselves great damage and will cripple our lungs or get cancer, In years to come countless teenagers will wish they had heeded the advice they were given about smoking

There’s this guy I like… alot!!! But he’s kind of a player. I’ve known him since the 6th grade. I know he’s messing with me because he says he doesn’t like me like that, and then he flirts. Whenever someone asks me out & I say yes, he makes fun of them. I told him that I wouldn’t go out with anyone until he makes up his mind… personally, I don’t really like going out with anyone because it feels wrong. I like him, and I feel like I’m doing wrong when I’m with a guy and thinking of him… so I’m waiting.
He’s sick now with 7 different diseases… including cancer (one rare) and lung disease… I don’t remember the rest. I worry about him alot, but he hasn’t written me back. He’s too sick to go to school.
What should I do? I like him alot. He likes everything I do, we have so much In common. People are starting to think that I’m a lezbian because I won’t go out with anyone else, but I want the guy I like. I don’t want to go out with someone, and hope I fall in love. What do I do?

If you want to stop liking him, find another guy that might make you feel happy and arent scared to let you know he loves you.

Particularly as thermal inulation in the walls of campers and RVs. There is an old Tejas brand truck camper sitting on some rural property I just purchased and I’d like to cut it up with a sawzall so I can dispose of it in a construction dumpster but I’m worried that the walls might containt asbestos.

Generally you didn’t see asbestos as insulation in cheap stuff like a camper. And mostly it’s harmless anyway. There’s two kinds of asbestos – the most common form is “serpentine” – and the dangerous stuff which makes up a fairly small amount of asbestos in some projects is called “amphibole”. Nobody in the government apparently knew this when they made the big hysterical asbestos laws.
Your chances of running into any sort of asbestos in insulation is pretty small except where it contaminates vermiculite – and then it has to be just the right kind. Wear a mask – wash your cloths when you’re done – and you’ll come through smelling like a rose.

My moms been smoking ever since before i was born (im 15 now). My dad is notbin the picture as my parents divorced a few years ago. My mom smokes cigarettes. All my life i’ve been picked on in school and made fun of smelling like smoke. Kids make rude comments all the time; “why do you smell like smoke” “you smell like smoke” “you stink” “do you smoke” “why do you smell like that” etc. Etc. The list goes on. Years of comments like thse have taken a toll on my self esteem. I have no confidence anymore. Im always worrying about smelling bad. I cry all the time im so stressed about it.
I spay all of my clothes with perfume now to try and cover up the smell. And i pick my oufot out the night before and put it in our garage (the one place my mom doesnt smoke) and try to air it out. All together this takes around 30 minutes every school night, when all i want to do is go to bed. And its no use anyway, because i either smell like smoke or a cloud of perfume. Which are both strong and disgusting.
Not to menion how much of a toll this takes on my health. I HATE THE SMELL OF SMOKE!!!!!!!!! I HATE IT!!!! Everytime i breathe it in it makes me want to throw up. The smell gives me horrible headaches. Migraines. Every. Day. And i get the sensation like i cant fully fill all my lungs with oxygen. Like they arent getting enough air. I take the deepest breath i can but they wont fill up all the way. Its so frustrating.
I hate that i hav to suffer for HER mistake. SHE chose to smoke. I didnt. I know better. But no; i have to sit here and deal wth the consequences likr it was my mistake, even though i did nothing wrong.
I’ve explained all of this to her. She doesnt care. She says she’ll quit when shes ready, and she wont be ready until she gets a well paying job and her life gets on steady.
Which will be FOREVER.
I’M SO TIRED OF THIS. EVRRYTIME I SMELL SMOKE IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL. ITS CHRISTMAS EVE/CHRISTMAS AND GUESS WHAT MY MOM IS DOING RIGH NOW. SHES ******* SMOKNG AND I HAVE TO SIT HERE AND BREATHE IT IN. SHE DOES THIS EVERY NIGHT. I ASK HER TO GO OUTSIDE BUT SHE GETS MAD AND YELLS AT ME. IF I BRING UP HER SMOKING AT ALL SHE GETS MAD. SMELLING THIS **** MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL. IT MAKES ME WANT TO SUFFOCATE MYSELF SO I NEVER HAVE TO BREATHE IT AGAIN. EVERYDAY I CRY AND CONSIDER SUICIDE. IM ALREADY GOING TO END UP WITH LUNG CANCER ANWAY.
PLEASE HELP ME. WHAT DO I DO?!?!

There’s no point in trying to get your mother to quit or smoke outside basically. Try to make her not smoke in your room at least, so you can have one place to be smoke-free. Either that or, stupid as it may sound, you could pick up smoking, then you will love the smell and won’t mind everything smelling like smoke.

Okay, well only two times or so total as far as I know, I’ve been woken up because I wasn’t breathing. My body just woke up and I wasn’t breathing and I was struggling for air until I opened my eyes and started breathing. It’s scary.
The second time it happened, it was the morning and I was kind of having a dream, but it was a light sleep where I was sort of aware of my surroundings but dozing off. I woke up not breathing several times that morning, and kept falling back to sleep, and it kept happening.
I don’t snore or anything either, just to throw it out there. I believe that my dad has sleep apnea, if that has anything to do with it. But other than that, there are no sleep disorders that I know of in myself or my family. No one knows about this happening to me yet.
Thank you very much! I’m not so much concerned, as curious about this.

After two surgeries one to the tongue another to the lymphs they want to perform a third one in the tongue for a new cancerous spot. Are all these surgeries making the problem worst? Should the person undergo radiation as recommended? Isn’t radiation going to weakened the immune system the only think that can cure cancer for good?! Should the person fire the MD’s and go for alternative treatment?

Surgery is the chance for cure.
If this is a new cancer it has nothing to do with the first.

I think I have been smoking way too much lately.. And I think my chest pains might be a result from my smoking… plus, both my mom’s and dad’s side has a history of lung cancer. I smoke an average of 5 cigs a day, but it’s been a little more the past few weeks. I ran out of cigs two days ago and I’m trying not to buy anymore for a little, I’m trying to quit but I can’t just do it cold turkey… What do you do? I’m 23 btw

It will not get any worse but it is unlikely to improve much either but if some of the deposits get cleared from your lungs that it still better than nothing, it is NEVER too late to stop smoking, drink plenty of water can help your health in general recover to a certain extent but your lungs would be knackered after 40 years

Help! stop eminent domain eviction during cancer Part2
Hello, I am professor Grace. I have metastatic ACC cancer that has spread to my lungs & liver. Indiana Dept. of Transportation (INDOT) is planning to evict me & my husband from our home through eminent domain. We will have nowhere to go because we don’t qualify for a new home loan. Imagine the living nightmare of being consumed by cancer while INDOT consumes my haven for survival: my property & home. They are evicting us by July 15, 2010 to build another Bypass, HWY 231, less than 2 miles from the existing one. Purdue University is the silent abeiter in this. They have complete control from conception to deception, and Purdue President Cordova refused to intercede or mediate, eventhough I am a tenured Purdue Univ. Professor. There will be more videos on YouTube; this is Part 1, as this story has more parts, and this is where things are at today. I want to thank Purdue Univ. faculty, staff & students (of FLL & beyond) for their love, concern & generosity in fundraising for our legal defense against INDOT’s double lawsuits & eviction, including an upcoming 5K run. My teacher died a little over a week ago. I attended his funeral on Saturday and there were all these pictures of him and his family and he just looked so happy. He had lung cancer and towards the end of the pictures there were recent picture of when he had cancer because he shaved his head. I broke down at the funeral. I felt weird because I felt like I was the only one crying there. Then I went up to the casket and saw him laying there all white, but by then I wasn’t crying all that bad because there was a pretty long line. His wife was by the casket, she didn’t even know who I was but she put her arm on my shoulder, and I just mumbled hey. But every time I think about him I get very sad and cry. And I never cry in front of anyone EVER. How do I deal with this?

Dealing with death is a part of life everyone will have to deal with sooner or later. Nothing wrong with crying it will soon pass and you will not be so sad. He is in heaven and much better now. People deal with death differently.
Dying of cancer is sometimes a long rocky road and I guarantee his family had many tearful nights before he died.

my mom is a smoker..she quited smoking and then started smoking again…she quited for a second time and became a smoker again..since she got really sick she quited again but today I saw her smoking when I asked her when she started she said it was this saturday…the thing is that when I used to tell her to stop doing that she got really mad!…she has bought books and other stuff so she can stop smoking but she NEVER uses them!..when I tell that she will get cancer and show her pictures of a smoker lung she doesn’t really care and get really angry..so what can I actually do to stop her from smoking!!!..I am really worried about her!

My mom has been smoking since she was in her late teens and she has asthma. I am afraid she will develop lung cancer or worse… I want my mom to be around for a long time because I love her and care about her and I know that she is a very special person. I do not know when my dad started chewing smokeless tobacco, but this type of tabacco can cause mouth cancer and my dad could lose his entire jaw if he continues… I want my dad to be around for a long time because I know if he were to get into an accident, I don’t think I would be ready to become the man of the house. plus, My dad makes most of the money in our family and we couldn’t live in our home without that money… I also look up to my dad and I think he makes good decisions for our family. He is a nice dad and is nice to have around. Even though we have a home security, I feel safer at night when he’s home. I just want them both to live long, happy and healthy lives- drug free. My mom can’t take pills to stop smoking because they give her a stomach ache and idk if there are anything to make my dad quit smokeless tabacco. I need some words of advise or what to say to them to get them to quit. PLEASE HELP!!! Your answers may be my only hope!!!

I am going to cover 1 layer of asbestos backed linoleum with 2mm underlay then install 15inX15inX5/16in laminate tile. This should work OK except that there are a couple of spots where the linoleum squeaks.
What do you think of using screws through the linoleum into the particle board and slightly into the bottom tongue/grove flooring? I thing that the squeak is due to the 1/8in hard backing just below the linoleum or the particle board has separated from the tongue/grove lower floor.

Yes that’s how you do it. Find the studs and screw it. My friend had an upstairs squeak in his floor and I pulled the carpet back to find that concrete had been poured over the wood floor with a big crack in it so I squirted glue in the crack and put screws in the crack and the squeak was gone.
