How long does it take for lung cancer to start showing symptoms?
Question by : How long does it take for lung cancer to start showing symptoms?
I’m a 30 year old female; I smoked for about 12 years. I was looking through my military medical records (I’m active duty), and I came across some radiology reports from August 2006. I totally forgot about the x-rays (I had two sets). The findings of the first PA said “1.5 cm density in the medial left apex. The significance of this is unclear”. I had another PA and a lordotic about a month later. The findings were”Compared to the last exam. today’s PA view shoes slightly increased density slightly lateral to that previously seen. This could correspond to the previous observation. It is a rather faint density and may represent basically no pathology. This is not appreciated directly on the apical lordotic view.” I’m very worried now. This was over three years ago, and my doctor has never mentioned it. The military is typically very good about following up on test results. What does this mean?

I’d do a repeat x-ray and see what it shows.

What kind of diseases have these symptoms? Please help!?
Question by tink_is_mine_9: What kind of diseases have these symptoms? Please help!?
I have a friend who is 18 years old and smokes excessively and does a fair amount of drinking. Lately he hasn’t been feeling well and the symptoms he has are very serious. The symptoms are random bruising on his legs, coughing up blood, dizziness, burning sensation in his throat and lungs, he’s also had a fever for the past day or so and breaks into cold sweat. And he just told me that he “experienced cardiac arrest at 5am” (I’m not sure if he was lying or maybe mistook whatever happened for cardiac arrest on accident). He refuses to see a doctor but I’m scared that whatever he has maybe very serious or even deadly.
Also, I’m not looking for diagnoses, just some diseases that have some of these symptoms.
Any answer is helpful though.

Flu Symptoms & Who’s at Risk? (Part 2 of 3) | HealthiNation

Learn what symptoms come with the flu, and who’s most at risk. Related Videos: What is the Flu? (Part 1 of 3): www.youtube.com Treating the Flu (Part 3 of 3): www.youtube.com TRANSCRIPT EXCERPT: Symptoms of the Flu Often, symptoms of the flu are mistaken for those of the common cold. But unlike a cold, the flu typically causes a fever ranging from 101 to 106 degree F, which can last from a day to about a week. The symptoms of the flu are more severe than those of a cold and can include: Chills and sweats Headache Dry or “hacking” cough Sore throat Muscle aches and pains Fatigue and weakness Loss of appetite Children with the flu tend to develop higher fevers than adults – often 103 to 105oF – and may also experience nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In adults, however, the flu typically doesn’t affect the gastrointestinal, or GI, tract and thus tends not to cause these symptoms. In children, croup and ear infections may also occur. The flu can cause serious complications, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. Some people may experience more severe flu symptoms and should see a doctor immediately. These symptoms include: Shortness of breath Frequent vomiting Confusion Dizziness In children under the age of two, if the following symptoms occur, a doctor should be contacted immediately: Rapid breathing Unusual eating and drinking Irritability High fever or rash Blush tint to the skin and lips Risk Factors for the Flu Although everyone is at risk for the flu, the following groups …

If I don’t have any symptoms of Cancer, except for a lump, is it possible its in the early stages?
Question by : If I don’t have any symptoms of Cancer, except for a lump, is it possible its in the early stages?
I am 20 and found a lump in my neck which is about slightly smaller than a dime last December. I went to my doctor and he did some blood work and referred me to another doctor to get additional test this week. He said it could be Lymphoma or leukemia or Lung cancer. Anyway I told him I haven’t been having any symptoms. I’m not fatigued, no night sweats, no persistent cough, no difficulty breathing, nothing. My doctor was even surprised on how I even felt that lump in my neck cause it could have been easily missed. So Anyway if I’m not having an symptoms does that mean it could be in the early stages IF, GOD forbid Its the “C” Word. Right now I’m so shaken up by what he said that I can’t sleep or concentrate. I’m just terrified!!! I’m freaking the FUCK out and that my hands are shaking. I haven’t even told my family the news that I found a lump in my neck and that I went to the doctor today.

I’m so sorry for your dog, and also sorry I don’t have an answer for you. Maybe the vet should do a chest X-ray to see if there’s cancer or just infection. Try posting your question in the pets-dogs section. There may be other pet owners who have had similar experiences. (Your question posted in the human section.)
Good luck…

I think you’ve got the wrong name. There are tons of diseases involving the lungs, and I’ve been looking around and can’t find anything that looks like “VLS.” Ask him specifically what its called, then message me on Yahoo answers. I’ll do some research and get back to you. Sorry I can’t get any more info right now, but it’s kind of hard when it’s not the right name…

Are these anxiety symptoms?
Question by : Are these anxiety symptoms?
Hi
Yeah over the past 2 months things haven’t been going well for me. It all started when I was on the laptop and then I just randomly felt weird, around my nose and face which made me PANIC like crazy; which made me then feel like something is wrong with me. Then for the next 2 months I have had these different sensations, such as tingling in my feet, weak hands, shooting pains in my head, buzzing/vibration in my body, and I feel extremely depressed like whats going on with me; am I ill?
I have looked at symptoms of different diseases and now I think I have them, such as liver cirrhosis, liver cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, brain tumor/brain cancer, cancer overall etc.
How can I overcome this? Im 14 by the way.

I get depressed easily and worry about my health a lot. The chances are that you’re fine. But if the symptoms get worse, tell your doctor. Hope this helps!

symptoms of lung cancer?
Question by : symptoms of lung cancer?
Best answer:
Answer by Nominus
A new cough in a smoker or a former smoker should raise concern for lung cancer.
A cough that does not go away or gets worse over time should be evaluated by a health-care provider.
Coughing up blood (hemoptysis) occurs in a significant number of people who have lung cancer. Any amount of coughed-up blood is cause for concern.
Chest pain is a symptom in about one-fourth of people with lung cancer. The pain is dull, aching, and persistent.
Shortness of breath usually results from a blockage to the flow of air in part of the lung, collection of fluid around the lung (pleural effusion), or the spread of tumor throughout the lungs.
Wheezing or hoarseness may signal blockage or inflammation in the lungs that may go along with cancer.
Repeated respiratory infections, such as bronchitis or pneumonia, can be a sign of lung cancer.
