I know of a woman who was treated with stage 4 lung cancer. She was 82 when treatment started. Back then it cost $ 10,000 per month. She had a billionaire son so it did not matter how much it cost.
BTW, to get admitted into hospice, a patient has to meed certain qualifications. There are a list of qualifying conditions or symptoms that a potential patient has to be screened to see if they qualify.
That is with the exception of stage 4 lung cancer. They are automatically admitted to hospice.
Well, the outcome was not what anyone would expect.
She did die.
Actually, she died some 12 years later at the age of 94.
What is interesting is she was treated by a MD from a research hospital.
Today it is much more reasonable although medicare does not cover in every state and for all patients.
And yes, it is an alternative medicine. It is actually what is called off label use. There are almost no side effects and patients start noticing benefits within the first few weeks. This is one of the few alternative medicines that is actually listed in the Physicians Desk Reference.
I don’t know if the doc who pioneered it retired or not but I do know the current expert in the field, also a MD and I believe he is a PhD MD, teaching other doctors.
As to hope, what you write about is one of the worst and hardest to fight.
The first place to start is in the mind.
Next the things we take in. Avoid all toxins.
Then finally take in the foods that will help the body heal.
I wish I could offer more.
Try the owner of the website below and try to get in touch with the expert MD. I have met him when he was lecturing in the US and he is very down to earth. He is in Canada and teaches at McGill.
Be warned, he will not give false hope. But that said, hope is what keeps us going till we do figure things out. I figure this way…we can always die, we cannot always live so why give up trying. What do we have to lose by trying?

Q&A: How long before XANAX or ALPRAZOLAM is out of the persons system and risk of side effects is gone?
Question by Behind face – - – - – - – -: How long before XANAX or ALPRAZOLAM is out of the persons system and risk of side effects is gone?
Also what happens if ‘the person’ has a lung condition but just don’t know about it and take XANAX?
or what if the individual has a unknown liver condition that prevents the XANAX from clearing the persons body will the anti-whatever be able to save the person?
0.5mg of Xanax btw
Best answer:
Answer by honhill
That tiny dosage would be EXTREMELY unlikely to harm anyone. If a person had a lung or liver disorder it would have to be severe for the person to be unable to tolerate that small dosage of Xanax. Xanax clears the body very quickly, the drug’s effects are gone in a matter of hours, it is completely excreted after several more. If you are a hypochondriac, then please don’t worry. This is seriously nothing to worry about, especially if the drug was prescribed for you.

Q&A: Why is the health care system in the USA so backward?
Question by cerbere1564: Why is the health care system in the USA so backward?
Most medical insurance companies will not grant your application if you have cancer, heart problem, blood disease etc…
The point of having an insurance is to get help when you need it the most, but in the USA, it’s the opposite, they want you when you’re healthy…
Totally backward frankly

Immune System – Natural Killer Cell

www.cancerfoundation.com Natural Killer Cells are the most aggressive white cells in the immune system. They make up about 5% to 15% of the total lymphocyte circulating population. They target tumor cell and protect against a wide variety of infectious microbes. Natural Killer Cells are a very important factor in the fight against cancer. Immune Stimulation is the key to keeping the white blood cell count high and giving the Natural Killer Cells a chance to fight cancer and other diseases. Answer by JFJ
This answer concerns climate change. When the outside temperature gets colder the blood vessels increase the flow of warm blood to the skin to keep you warm. This is the body’s natural heating system and why you are told to dress in layers on a cold day. The layers of clothing retain that heat.
When the temperature warms up the flow of warm blood to the skin is decreased. This, along with sweating, is the body’s natural cooling system and the reason you told to dress lightly on hot days. Dressing lightly allows the excess heat to escape through the pores.
Temperature change is unavoidable. It happens with the change of seasons and with the rising and setting of the sun.

I seem to have an extremely effective immune system. Will this help fight all types of cancer?
Question by cath d: I seem to have an extremely effective immune system. Will this help fight all types of cancer?
Or are there some cancers where a persons past immunity profile is irrelevant?
Best answer:
Answer by JLI
An effective immune system is really not helpful on its own in destroying cancer. For the immune system to do anything, it has to be able to recognise the cancer cells as such. To the immune system a cancer cell looks just like a normal healthy cell – no matter how strong the immune system is. Research is ongoing in developing “cancer vaccines” that are able to trigger immune responses against various cancer types.

How does this health care system sound to you?
Question by Me: How does this health care system sound to you?
How does this health care system sound to you?
Just a few statistics…how would you feel about have a health care service like the one below?
1)figures show that (country X) total health expenditure as a percentage of GDP (8.4%) is actually below the OECD average and a long way below that of the USA, which has easily the most expensive system at 16%, nearly double (country X) spending.
2)Country X spend per head of population is $ 2,992 as opposed to $ 7,290 in the USA.
3)Country X’s health care system is largely free of the huge transaction costs associated with revenue collection and marketing that blight other systems, such as the USA.v As a result, the cost of administration in country X is estimated at around 12% compared to more than 30% in the USA
4)Country X spends 3% of its budget on management costs, as opposed to 17% in the USA
5)For example, Country X outperforms the USA where mortality rates from lung cancers are concerned.
Likewise, Country X’s mortality rates from heart disease and stroke are considerably better than the USA.
And in terms of in-hospital recovery from stroke, Country X is ranked second only to Japan amongst the OECD countries
6)In comparison with the healthcare systems of five other comparable countries (Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand and the USA) the national health service of country X was found to be the most impressive overall by the New York-based Commonwealth Fund in 2007 (the USA came last). Specifically the national health service of country X was rated as the best system in terms of quality of care, co-ordination of care, and equity, but also, crucially, in terms of the efficiency of care.
7)According to the 2009 Country X’s Social Attitudes report, satisfaction with the national health service for country X is at its highest level for 25 years. And those with personal experience of the national health service for country X rate it highest of all.
No one in country X waits more than 18 weeks from the time they are referred to the start of their treatment. Most importantly, the average wait for treatment is much shorter, at just 8 weeks. And median waiting times are just over 2 weeks for outpatients and 4 weeks for inpatients.
For cancer patients, 99.7% of patients are seen within 2 weeks from urgent GP referral to outpatient appointment. For breast cancer, 99.8 % of patients are treated within 1 month from diagnosis to treatment.
Virtually all patients are treated within four hours at Accident & Emergency units in hospitals
Not a quiz. Actually country. I was just curious if you guys did not know which country it was, if you would like the sound of the health care system.

Advanced Septic System Technologies in Canada
Septic system technology has been constantly improving all around the world, and Canadian companies, in particular, are continually developing new on-site technologies. Research at the Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre, at the University of Guelph, plays an important role in developing, assessing, and providing training and demonstrations of many of these new technologies. For one thing, septic tanks have certainly gotten a lot better. In the past, steel tanks, cinderblock tanks or poured-in-place concrete tanks were used. Today, septic tanks are either pre-fabricated concrete or plastic or fiberglass, making installations and replacement much easier. Doug Joy, Director, Ontario Rural Wastewater Centre The concrete we use is much more corrosion-resistant so we don’t see nearly as much concrete corrosion that we might have seen 25 years ago. We used to use steel tanks. We don’t use those anymore because they are known to corrode, and corrode quite quickly. Plastic septic tanks, which we only saw a little bit 25 years ago, we’re seeing much more now. The plastics are much stronger, a lot more robust than they were to begin with, and plastic septic tanks provide an advantage: they’re much lighter and easier to work with. Announcer Similarly, years ago, leaching beds were made with clay tiles and asbestos pipe. Not only have those materials been replaced with plastic pipes, but alternative technologies have become more readily available to homeowners providing practical …

What can I do to improve my immune system?
Question by Mizz G: What can I do to improve my immune system?
I live a healthier lifestyle than most people around me, and yet without immunization I’m down with upper respiratory infections for weeks every two months or so. I spend almost a quarter of my year being sick, and I am not about to take this anymore.
So here’s my checklist:
[v] balanced diet and nutrition
[v] exercise (I take an hour’s walk home from the office, but the air quality of the city I live in is dreadful, especially during rush hours)
[v] plenty of water intake
[v] abstinence from tobacco and alcohol
[v] good personal and home hygiene
[v] enough rest (about 60-75% of the time… exceptions include deadlines and other normal parts of life)
And yet I get sick more often than my friends who smoke and drink and are generally irresponsible of their health.
I asked my doctor about immunization, but he said that vaccines for upper respiratory diseases only exist for young children and are not made for adults because adults have a far better immune system. Well OK, I won’t die from a fever and a sore throat, but it is expensive to have to visit the doctor each time, and missing a lot of work days won’t help with my career despite the praises I’ve gained for my performance.
Is my doctor lying to me so that I get sick more often and keep coming back to him? Or are there immunizations that I can take in order to maintain a good health? Also, what other daily habits can I adopt without appearing to be mysophobic or otherwise abnormal?
* I got immunized for influenza in March 2010, said that the vaccine was good for a year.
* Mid June: I already got a bacterial upper respiratory infection already and was down for two weeks
* Early November: I got a viral upper respiratory infection but the doctor prescribed me antibiotics while waiting for my blood test results, having mistakenly suspected that I got typhoid. It was only then that my doctor told me that the vaccine had expired by July because now a different strain of influenza is breaking out. My fever lasted a week, but the coughing lasted a month.
* December: I had only cured in early December, and two days after Christmas I got another viral upper respiratory infection, which my doctor believes is NOT a relapse of my last infection. I was prescribed Panadol, Nonflamin, Benadryl, and Pancreatin (because I feel abdominal pain every now and then). The doctor predicted that I should be recovering by today and ready to go to work tomorrow, but the fever has only w

Lymphatic System Drainage Part 1

www.balancedhealthtoday.com http Though people who are specialists in this method are reluctant to state opinions, many have theorized that when malignancy is found in the lymph that the lymph nodes are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing. In other words, it is not 100% clear to them that the cancer has metastasized, merely that it has accumulated in the lymph. Given that we do not understand these fine points well enough to be certain, it would seem appropriate that patients who have not yet had surgery try to move as much lymph through the body as possible to see if the swelling subsides. For those who feel they are at risk for cancer, periodic lymphatic stimulation and/or drainage may be a healthy preventative measure. Once, however, the nodes are gone, it is more uphill. One very simple but probably only minimally helpful exercise is to hold the affected (swollen) area upwards to see if gravity will permit some of the lymph to descend into areas that still have adequate drainage. What very few patients seem to realize is that the immune system does not fight cancer so long as there is infection in the body. Isn’t this one of Nature’s ironies? People are more afraid of cancer than infection, but the body tries to eliminate infection before turning its resources towards cancer control. The lymphatic system in many people is overwhelmed by infection, often stemming from dental problems, as well as toxic substances (mercury, aluminum, chemicals from …
