UPDATE 9/30/11: NOTES: These reviews were and are for people who needed a CHEAP good mobile PHONE without a ripoff contract – not the BEST phone in the universe at a premium. I first had the jax, then this, then the Optimus V – (amazing phone and value now priced at 0), and now the Motorola Triumph – which is simply incredible but at the cost of battery power. So stop with the – you’re cheap comments and see the review for what it is – a phone that got me through NYC when I arrived with little to no money. Now I am making a lot more and can afford a better phone BECAUSE I saved and made contacts when I had this. Learn. Don’t make stupid comments. Opened a new channel just for my reviews called NonRetardedReviews and got a dedicated web url: NonRetardedReviews.com because most youtube reviews are retarded or by retards… no offense to actually retarded people but YOU know what I mean. Text 100 Sydney – Free to Breathe 2009 Fundraising Walk
Earlier this year we discovered that one of our colleagues in New York was undergoing a battle with lung cancer. To show its support the team in New York took part in Free to Breathe, a fundraising initiative to raise money for lung cancer sufferers. Wanting to show its own support, the Text 100 Sydney team embarked on its own version of ‘Free to Breathe’ with a 5km walk across the Harbour Bridge and into the CBD. Thanks to the generosity of our clients, friends and the journalism community we are able to double our fundraising targets. This video is our person e-card to our colleague Lisa in New York – we hope you get well soon Lisa! Lots of love from Sydney xoxo

New research from a team including several Carnegie scientists demonstrates that a specific small segment of RNA could play a key role in the growth of a type of malignant childhood eye tumor called retinoblastoma. The tumor is associated with mutations of a protein called Rb, or retinoblastoma protein. Dysfunctional Rb is also involved with other types of cancers, including lung, brain, breast and bone. Their work could result in a new therapeutic target for treating this rare form of cancer and potentially other cancers as well.

plz help me to evaluate this text?
Question by rachel: plz help me to evaluate this text?
I need to evaluate this text ..the purpose of the writer..the audience..the language..the level
Smoking has been recognised as a serious medical problem and, in the last 40 years, has been linked irrefutably to many serious diseases of various tissues, including cancer, heart disease, gangrene of lower limbs, stroke and lung disease. Cigarette smoking also increases the complications of diabetes and hypertension.
help me plzzzzz
Best answer:
Answer by blunderbuss
Here’s what I think:
the purpose of the writer
The writer is clearly making a case against smoking by describing it as a long-known
health hazard that leads to diseases that are often fatal.
the audience
The language is at least at the level of what a high-school student should be reading,
including such uncommon words as “irrefutably,” which is seldom used outside of the
realm of active debate. (No one says, “it’s irrefutably warm out today.”)
the language
The syntax shows complex thoughts and assumes that the audience is capable of
assembling more complicated arguments in their heads.
the level
At the risk of repeating myself, the language is meant to lead by depicting the effects of
smoking without a lot of emotional pleading on behalf of the author. The writer is relying
on facts, and does not embellish with adjectives like “horrible” diseases, or adverbs like
“tragically” increases complications.

The Sound of Water Text by Pat Kaake
text by pat Kaake………………….. The sound of clear running water would be the most magnificent music to the ears of many people on earth, who have no clear running water. We live in an economically distressed area of western New York, but our water is a rich resource for the people of the Great Lakes, and millions of people would envy us that kind of wealth. Some would waste it or sell it, or ignore it as a resource of any value having no respect, appreciation or responsibility for such a precious gift. Our government should lead, guide and enforce sound environmental policy good for the earth and the people. But they do not lead, or examine or enforce the rules they have written. Casella waste is polluting our spaces, our air and our water, and the DEC is unwilling or unable to deal with the mismanagement style and poor landfill management practices that this particular company has brought to rural areas in New York State. Who cares? But the system is broken. Those who would destroy our clean water air and land are doing so with arrogance, and impunity; apparently believing that money is potable, that future generations aren’t our problem, and “the garbage has to go somewhere”, so why not here, on the clean land within the sound of the clean water, in whatever method seems feasible. Who cares? Enforcement is left to the sleeping guardians we continue to hire and pay to officially take care of our environmental concerns. Can we afford to let the system remain …

Text message chain scams?
Question by YoYo: Text message chain scams?
I have recieved many text messages lately claiming either the “phone company”, “make a wish foundation”, or other entity will donate a certain ammount of money ($ .07 – $ 2.00) everytime the message is forwarded or sent. Most of the time it is to help a sick child or to help a cause of some sort.
Does anyone have any information as to whether these are scams or not. Im not sure how they could even keep track of how many were sent, it doesnt make sense to me. What motive would someone have to devise and sent out these fake messages?
There are tons of these messages floating around and its starting to sicken me thinking they are fake. I would guess there are tens of thousands of these messages being sent everyday.
latest text message:
