These are things I do to fight colds and flu. I rarely get a cold or flu and when I do they are very mild with almost no congestion and I normally get rid of them in 3-5 days. Most of these cost nothing or a couple of dollars at the very most. The best time to fight a cold or flu is as soon as you feel any symptoms. The sooner you begin the fight the greater your chances of winning. I would add that eating an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables free of refined fats (oils, margarine, butter, lard, etc) is also helpful. Prior to becoming a vegan I nearly always had a cold or flu that would last 1-2 weeks and it often left me with various lung problems such as walking pneumonia and pneumonitis. My sister has found that ginger helps her with the nasal congestion and that sounds like a great and safe idea.

My girlfriend as had pneumonia for 4 months now and it is serious. She was recently diagnosed with cancer (I expect lung cancer). She is 18 and she does not eat but she does try and drink a lot as well as have a drip and she sleeps a lot now. She will fight anything to get better and she won’t give up fighting it for a second.
Please would anyone help us or give us any tips to help my girlfriend get better. Any piece of information could potentially help save her life so please do not hesitate anything.

I come from a family full of cancer history, everything from breast to ovarian and have I been a close part of their treatments each time someone I loved was diagnosed with cancer, so I hope my personal experience helps you.
First of all, there are no home treatments for cancer. Period. Some vitamins can help in preventing cancer, but once you have it there is nothing you can do alone at home.
Next step is to find a good oncologist. Word of mouth referrals are a good way to find them as well as checking online in your state to see how local doctors are rated.
Last, and this is important when dealing with doctors… trust your gut. If you don’t feel your doctor is doing everything to help you then find a new one. My grandma had a bad experience trusting a doctor she had a bad feeling about and he nearly killed her. That is not speaking for every doctor out there, but if you have a gut feeling about your health and the hands that its in then its best to follow your instincts.
I hope this helps. Cancer is hard and no one should have to go through it. I wish your girlfriend the best.

The treatments of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation can be hard on a woman’s body. There are some side effects from these treatments. The side effects can cause temporary discomfort to the body. Because I have gone through the treatments myself, I have found products that help to minimize the discomfort and help heal the effects of treatments.
There are two types of surgery that a women will choose from. A lumpectomy or a mastectomy. After surgery, it is important to find a specialty bra to help secure the breast so the surgery area can heal properly. A mastectomy bra will be necessary to purchase after a women have gone through a mastectomy surgery. These specialty bras include a pocket to hold the prosthesis form. The mastectomy bra should be covered by your insurance so check with your insurance company.
Chemotherapy can be very rough on your body, physically and emotionally. The most common side effects are losing your hair, nausea, loss of appetite, neuropathy, memory loss, fatigue and anemia, change in taste and smell, dry mouth, and menopause.The effects of chemotherapy not only can affect your sense of smell and taste, but it can leave your mouth very dry. To help reduce this effect, there are products to help increase the flow of saliva. This dry mouth care pack by Biotene contains gum, mouth wash, toothpaste, and moisturizing gel. Otherwise, drink a lot of water and try to chew gum to keep the flow of saliva.
The common side effects of radiation are fatigue, skin problems, and loss of appetite. The most complaint from patients are the irritation and discoloring of their skin. After a radiation treatment, the skin will be very sensitive. Make sure you wear loose clothing when going to receive treatment. Try to get a driver to drive you home so you don’t have to worry about driving yourself. The radiation can and will burn the skin so it is important to keep the area moist. To help keep the skin moist, a patient can use a therapy lotion called Alura Skin Therapy. This lotion will help keep the area moist after each radiation treatment. The patient also needs to be aware of not using regular deodorant. Most deodorants that are bought in stores have a metallic ingredient in the deodorant. The metallic ingredient can interfere with the radiation treatment. You can purchase a non-metallic deodorant that will eliminate perspiration odor and wetness. This gentle, non-irritating deodorant contains oil of cypress, a clean-smelling natural fragrance, and lichen extract which is a natural bactericide and fungicide.
