What’s the difference between cigarettes and regular pipe tobacco?

It’s really hard to find this research, unless you already know this. I would like the the ingredients of both cigarettes and pipe tobacco, and if regular pipe tobacco causes lung cancer too. Are there additives in both of them? Are there still just as addictive? i don’t want biased answers. Please help!

Most pipe tobacco has an additive to make it smell or taste good. These flavors that are added can cause cancer, more so than just plain tobacco. Pipe tobacco really isn’t intended to be inhaled, nor a cigars, it is more for the aroma. cigarettes don’t contain the additives and have a filter to help block the tar and what not. I push my own cigarettes in tubes and some times add a little pipe tobacco (like a pinch for evey 10) so to give it a good smell. Oh and you may think class A or J are the quality of tobacco that is not so It is for taxing purpose. The class has to do with the amount being sold for use. The more Quantity the less tax. I don’t know the actual chemicals they put in the tobacco but I do know if you inhale it a bunch you’ll be coughing and have a scratchy voice.

In my heart of hearts, I believe there are cures for certain types of cancer. However, the argument should no longer be with the tobacco companies. It should be with the drug companies that hold back their scientific findings because it behooves them.

within the next several months though the FDA will be changing those requirements.

Do you think the scientists that are researching this now “useful” plant are being paid by the tobacco companies? If not, why of all the thousands of species they couldn’t find a suitable plant other than tobacco?

They probably are. So what? If they come up with something useful, people will start checking other plants to find something cheaper or something that doesn’t require good bottomland to grow.

Nicotine will hurt your heart no matter how you intake it. Some will say that the direct insert to your bloodstream will be worse than puffing it up into smoke before inhaling it. It’s not just about smoke as much as it’s about nicotine into the bloodstream. I’m not sure. But either way, quitting has dramatic influences on heart health, almost overnight.

I just read a ridiculous article at http://health.yahoo.com/news/healthday/usflunksontobaccocontrolreportcard.html that agonizes over how the government is not doing enough to get people to stop smoking. Come on! Let’s just be done with it! We know tobacco causes cancer. We all have known at least one person and probably more who have died of lung cancer. I personally don’t care if people smoke, but I’m sick of government collecting outrageous taxes from these poor people who can’t quit, and then whine about them smoking. Lets be done with the commercial tobacco industry and the collection of taxes on it, but if someone wants to grow and smoke their own, allow them to do it. But with that, health insurance companies should be allowed to deny claims for medical expenses directly related to smoking or chewing tobacco. What do you think?

If you look at the history of criminalizing drugs, mainly Pot, it’s because of Tobacco Corporations realizing that it was a strong competitor and they wanted to get rid of it.
After that, it was n the interest of not looking like fools to keep it illegal.

Now we have a new PC word in our society for people with NO self-control…we call it a DISEASE…do people who shop too much have a disease…or people who blow through every stop sign…or people who can’t put down that beer or drink…they have a …DISEASE???!!!
When I used to smoke too much pot, I realized I had a lack of self-control, and had to adjust my behavior(WHAT a CONCEPT!) by simply not doing it anymore.

My mom has been smoking since she was in her late teens and she has asthma. I am afraid she will develop lung cancer or worse… I want my mom to be around for a long time because I love her and care about her and I know that she is a very special person. I do not know when my dad started chewing smokeless tobacco, but this type of tabacco can cause mouth cancer and my dad could lose his entire jaw if he continues… I want my dad to be around for a long time because I know if he were to get into an accident, I don’t think I would be ready to become the man of the house. plus, My dad makes most of the money in our family and we couldn’t live in our home without that money… I also look up to my dad and I think he makes good decisions for our family. He is a nice dad and is nice to have around. Even though we have a home security, I feel safer at night when he’s home. I just want them both to live long, happy and healthy lives- drug free. My mom can’t take pills to stop smoking because they give her a stomach ache and idk if there are anything to make my dad quit smokeless tabacco. I need some words of advise or what to say to them to get them to quit. PLEASE HELP!!! Your answers may be my only hope!!!
