On 27 December 1969, Mansoor married actress Sharmila Tagore, great-grandniece of Rabindranath Tagore. They had three children: Saif Ali Khan, a Bollywood actor, born 16 August 1970; Soha Ali Khan, a Bollywood actress, born 4 October 1978; Saba Ali Khan a jewellery designer. In June 2005, Mansoor Ali Khan was arrested for poaching Blackbuck deer, a protected species in India. He was released on bail after two days in jail His uncle was General Sher Ali Khan, and his first cousin Nawab Shahryar Khan, who was the former Foreign Secretary of Pakistan and Ex Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Pataudi, 70, was admitted to New Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on 22 September 2011 with an acute lung infection. The infection was caused by chronic interstitial lung disease which prevented his lungs from exchanging oxygen properly. He died of respiratory failure on 22 September 2011 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. His burial took place at Pataudi near Delhi on 23 September 2011. A condolence Ceremony held at Nawab Shahryar Khan house First Cousin of Nawab Mansoor Pataudi. August 9th, 2008- Bernie Mac, the actor and comedian who teamed up in the casino heist caper “Ocean’s Eleven” and gained a prestigious Peabody Award for his sitcom “The Bernie Mac Show,” died Saturday at age 50. “Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles. She said no other details were available and asked that his family’s privacy be respected. The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease. Recently, Mac’s brand of comedy caught him flack when he was heckled during a surprise appearance at a July fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate and fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama. Toward the end of a 10-minute standup routine, Mac joked about menopause, sexual infidelity and promiscuity, and used occasional crude language. The performance earned him a rebuke from Obama’s campaign. Kassidy Jordan Foster December 10, 1994 – July 16, 2007 Taken from her site www.kassidyspage.com My name is Kassidy Foster and I was 12-year-old sixth grader at Check Elementary School. I was also a level 7 gymnast at Virginia Techniques Gymnastics and a member of Faith Fellowship Church. On Thursday, March 29, 2007, I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma – the most common type of bone cancer. The doctors have found cancerous cells on my right femur near the knee and close to my hip. They’ve also found cancerous cells in my chest between my heart and lungs. I started chemotherapy on April 4th. The doctors said I would need 40 weeks of treatments that would end in December. My main tumor was on my right knee. At first the treatments appeared to be working …but they were not. On May 3rd, I had to have my right leg amputated up to my hip. I returned to Roanoke to continue my treatments. No matter what type of chemotherapy my doctors gave me, my cancer continued to grow throughout my body. On July 9th, I went on my Make-a-Wish trip to California where I was treated like a movie star, rode in limousine and got treated with a day of shopping. I returned home on Thursday July 12th where I started having difficulty breathing. My parents took me to the hospital on July13th, and I went to Heaven on July16th. George Harrison 67th Birthday Tribute
George Harrison is my favorite Beatle and in honor of his birthday on February 25th I decided to post this photo tribute video. The actual date of his birthday is debatable. Some say it’s the 24th because he was born at 11:50 pm but according to a source, George thought his birthday was the 25th his whole life because of that, but who really knows, sources say either. George Harrison was known as “the quiet Beatle” and released a great amount of excellent material after the Beatles broke up. I really enjoy his work and I hope that one day we can all learn to “love one another”, his final words before he died of lung cancer on November 29, 2001 at the age of 58. This is Bradk12fan’s tribute to Benny Parsons. 35 years ago today, Benny Parsons won the 1975 Daytona 500. Benny Parsons won the 1968 and 1969 ARCA series championships. In 1972 Benny Parsons became the only man to win both the ARCA and Winston Cup series championships, when at Rockingham, Benny and his team rallied back from a lap 12 wreck to finish and capture the Winston Cup Series Championship. Benny would race for many teams during his career including Hendrick Motorsports, where he filled in for an ailing Tim Richmond. An incident between Benny and his crew chief Harry Hyde would go on to inspire the ‘ice cream pitstop’ scene in the 1990 movie ‘Days of Thunder’ which starred Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, and Robert Duvall. Benny died January 16, 2007 after a long fight with lung cancer. RIP Benny. Benny was most well known for his time as a broadcaster, and live commentator for TNN, TNT, and NBC after he had retired from racing. My Mom has had a long fight with cancer, about 17 years ago she had to have her voice box removed due to cancer! My Mom NEVER let it stop her though, she still went everywhere and lived her life like always! Everyone was able to read her lips and understood her fine! My Mom was cancer free until 2007 & the she got a touch of breast cancer & we got it in time, then a spot in her right lung, and they removed it, but it came back & was in the middle of her chest where was nothing to be done! Double lung transplant tribute
In March of 2009 my Mom received a double lung transplant at UCSF. She was sick with a rare lung condition called Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The Doctors don’t know why she got sick–there just aren’t any answers. She always took good care of herself and never smoked a day in her life. At the time of the transplant, she had approx 2 months to live. It was a very scary time for all our family. She was on Oxygen full time and barely even able to walk 5 steps without having to stop and rest–gasping for air. Because her young 21 y/o donor Natalie Elizabeth Mitchell cared enough to register as a donor a short time before suddenly passing (with an unexpected brain aneurysm), and the transplant team at UCSF is exceptionally skilled at what they do, my mom was given a 2nd chance at life. She will forever be grateful for this Most Pristine Gift and never take life for granted! Because of Natalie’s courage, I myself have registered as a donor and you can too. Thank you Natalie and UCSF for giving my Mom new lungs and a new life! Your organ donation alone has the power to save up to 8 people.
