Mitosis in Onion Root Tip (Amrita University)

A process by which a parent cell divides into two or more daughter cells is called cell division. Cell division is actually a small part of the cell cycle. The type of cell division in normal eukaryotic cells is called Mitosis. Another type of cell division is also present in reproductive cells of eukaryotes is called meiosis. Cell cycle is mainly divided into two segments: Interphase and M phase. Interphase is a longer period of cell division. During this phase the cell prepares of its next stage. This is a period of diverse activities and these activities prerequisite for the next mitotic phase. Interphase is mainly divides into three phases: G1 phase, S phase and G2 phase. S phase is the period of replication. G1 and G2 are two gap phases during which the cell grows, producing proteins and preparing the cells. These phases also have certain check points and the whole cell cycle is strictly regulated.

MA program at Western Kentucky University that does not require GRE testing?
Question by B1ujay: MA program at Western Kentucky University that does not require GRE testing?
My boss sent me a link to a new MA degree program at WKU and it claims that the GRE is not required. Are there any other programs in in the following categories (see below) that do not require a GRE and does the lack of a GRE requirement make the program any less official than a graduate program that requires the GRE?
Sustainability
Environmental Studies/Science
Anthropology (4 field)
Best answer:
Answer by Donald B
My son who lives and teaches English in China is getting an MBA online from Western Kentucky. He did have to take the GRE and loves the program. It is an accredited college and it is just as official as any other college, although it does not have the prestige of many. Taking a GRE or not does not make a program official, it just means that it is not as competitive to gain entrance.

Your credentials are pretty good, although your GPA is on the low side. Your test scores are nice, though. Everything pretty much shows that you have a good chance.
However, “chance me” is not a phrase. It literally bears no meaning whatsoever. I hope your essay was written better than your question.

Need help choosing a transfer undergraduate university.?
Question by : Need help choosing a transfer undergraduate university.?
Here are my credentials: I go to Florida State University, 4.0 for all 60 credits, 4 for 4 on Presidents’ and Deans’ Lists, 3 community service awards, a presidents award for 100 hours of community service completed in a one year period, macroeconomics award for top ten out of 522, 4 honors societies, and director of entertainment news on one of the school papers. I am looking to transfer to one of the best undergraduate business programs and would like to know which ones I’d most likely be accepted in to, which ones I would most likely be given a full ride to, and which ones would most likely help me out financially due to my academic success. My mom is also making under 25 grand a year (dad is not in the financial picture), and she is battling lung cancer if this helps at all. Thanks so much!

Answer by Paint It,Black
I like your credentials. I can’t really tell you much of schools to check out throughout the U.S. since I only live in California. However, California does offer one of the best business programs i the West Coast and that will be University of California, Berkeley. In UC Berkeley there is a specific program called Haas School of Business. It is very hard to get in, and the transfer rate for admission is comparable to freshmen undergraduate admission where only 6% of the transfer applicants are accepted. And since California is in a state of financial crisis with the deficit, they have recently openly increased their admission to out-of-state students. The only thing I would consider is the price since it is outrageously expensive.

Fire destroys building at University of NSW in Kensington
Sunday, 29 August 2010 – NSW Fire Brigades responded to a 6th alarm structure fire at the G2 Building at the University of NSW on Anzac Parade in Kensington. Around 80 fire-fighters battled the blaze with multiple hand lines and three aerial-platform appliances. Thick black smoke could be seen across Sydney. Police shut down the arterial road in both directions causing major logistical and traffic control nightmares for the public and government controlled transportation. Asbestos has been discovered in the building and fire services are monitoring the quality of the air and the direction of the smoke plume. Quick thinking by fire commanders and crews on scene avoided the risk of a major explosion as they found a number of gas and acetylene cylinders. Ambulance services are on scene and on standby in a supporting role. There were no injuries. Hundreds were evacuated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) building as well as around 25 residents from neighbouring properties. 60% of the building has been destroyed. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

I know http://www.RiseSmart.com/jobs is one site with a real person (imagine that) assigned to search the Internet for you for $ 100k+ jobs in the specialized field you choose. This saves you time, and RiseSmart also does corporate recruiting so they have even more job leads to offer you on top of those listed on Internet web sites. They also have a location-specific salary calculator, a resume analysis and editing team, and provide access to Visual CV. My friend got the half-off price (about $ 20) with coupon code RSHM5008.

What is the best university in this country for a cancer research student ?
Question by alana: What is the best university in this country for a cancer research student ?
I’m a junior in high school and I’m starting to look at universities. I would like to work in cancer research and I’m trying to see what schools are the best for me. Any suggestions would help
Best answer:
Answer by Devin
Cancer research isn’t really a major and you probably won’t be doing any cancer research as an undergraduate.
You will want to get you undergraduate degree in biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, or biochemistry. Then do a PhD in biochemistry or pharmacy or go to medical school.
What school you go to depends on what undergraduate you want to do. You will likely go to a different school for your graduate degree.

How is Stanford University using the PlayStation 3 System to help cure cancer?
Question by Solid Snake: How is Stanford University using the PlayStation 3 System to help cure cancer?
I had read PlayStation Magazine and in one of the articles, it said that they were using Folding@Home to help cure cancer. It’s so amazing to find out that the PS3 is helping lives and the X-Box 360 is ruining lives!!!!
Best answer:
Answer by april
Sony announced on Thursday that owners of any Internet-connected PS3 will be able to participate in a wide-ranging, distributed, scientific experiment led by Stanford University’s Folding@home program, which is seeking to better understand a process called protein folding and its relationship to several serious diseases.
According to a release from Sony, the Stanford program is focusing on how two-dimensional protein strands in the human body fold into the three-dimensional molecules that determine their biological functions, and why incorrect folding can lead to debilitating diseases such as cancer, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
But studying the folding process is an extremely complex task requiring vast amounts of computing power, Sony said in its release. Hence the PS3/Folding@home initiative. PS3 participants will be able to lend their console’s massive processing power to the effort, much as PC users are able to assist in the SETI@Home project, which is seeking to identify extraterrestrial life.
PS3 users are expected to be able to start lending their machines to the project on March 23, accessing Folding@home via the PS3′s XrossMediaBar, the console’s interactive menu system. Once participating machines are connected to the project and idle, Folding@home will tap the devices’ unused processing power. Users will be able to watch the scientific simulations in real time, Sony said, as well as interact with the research by manipulating protein strands.
Using your internet power, not your games lol

Q&A: How to go from the london university housing in bloomsbury to the institute of cancer research in chelsea?
Question by D A: How to go from the london university housing in bloomsbury to the institute of cancer research in chelsea?
I am an international student and planning to stay in london for 6 months to work at the institute of cancer research in chelsea (the chester betty laboratories). I wanted to know how far is the university of london housing in bloomsbury district from the institute and how long does it take to get there by tube. I also wanted to know if there is a closer university housing to the institute
Best answer:
Answer by carina
the nearest tube station to the Chester Beatty laboratories is South Kensington http://www.icr.ac.uk/contact_us/chelsea/index.shtml on the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines … see the tube map http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/standard-tube-map.pdf … I’m not sure where the university housing in Bloomsbury is, but the nearest tube stations are likely to be either Warren Street, Russell Square or Goodge Street … Russell Square would be the easiest because then it’s straight through on the Piccadilly line to South Kensington
