Yeah I feel crap today, i might have pneumonia or bronchitis. The flu is similar to the regular flu, right? You’d be out of action for weeks and probably be guarantied if people found out you are taking the vaccine.
This vaccine doesn’t even cure the disease, let alone reduce symptoms. As an undergraduate and tax payer I refuse to get the vaccine voluntary
Oh so there is no law? Obama is trying to force us tax payers to get it.

The NHS in Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside is urging people who are at risk from flu to protect them selves with a free vaccination which saves lives. By having yourself vaccined from Heptatitus C or HPV, Would you be indirectly validating evolution? I mean, the modern-day vaccine wouldn’t exist without scientists knowledge of evolution?

I’m not surprised no creationists answered. It’s like fundamentalists in general who ignore those parts of the bible where Jesus and others clearly state that prayer can cure any and all diseases. If believers would just stop going to doctors and hospitals the world might be a better place.

I want to try to prove to my wife that this vaccine is a loaded gun that’s going to do more harm to our child than good. I’ve been looking online for some good information to back up my claim but I can’t find anything other than random blogs and DIY sites, I need something more substantial like medical reports, graphs and other info I can use to make my case and make her a believer. My father died from lung cancer due to asbestos because asbestos was “safe” back when he was working with it in the 70s so I’m skeptical of any for profit corporation that requires a shot that has a laundry list of side effects – one of which is giving the person getting it the diseases it was meant to prevent in the first place.

You won’t find a reputable source because there is no link between MMR vaccine and autism. The studies that supposedly showed the link were faked. MMR vaccine has NO connection to autism.

Between 1980 and 2008, the mortality rate from lung cancer in women has doubled. Each year it is seen a growth of 1.7%, while among men the rate is being reduced by 2%. Today, 28.6% of women aged 18 to 64 years and is estimated that 7.6 million people died just 2008 due to lung cancer, a number that it is expected to increased to eleven million in 2030.
It is quite possible that two of the biggest concerns of health-related the citizens express in any country in the world are AIDS and cancer. Although there are other diseases that have less “press” and charge a huge amount of victims every year, especially in tropical regions, the truth is that getting a vaccine effective against cancer or AIDS are among the main objectives of laboratories around the world.
Fortunately, the battle against lung cancer has won a new step: it is a therapeutic vaccine rather than preventive, developed by recombinant technology advanced lung cancer, CimaVax-EGF, that was created in Cuba by scientists at the Molecular Immunology Center Havana.
This Cuban drug was prepared after 15 years of research and is currently being administered in 65 health centers in Cuba and have taken steps necessary to register in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and several other nations.
According to Cuban experts, the drug can not prevent disease but to control advanced cancer to generate antibodies against proteins that trigger the uncontrolled cell proliferation processes.
It consists of a therapeutic tool that is part of the field of immunotherapy, in which it is intended that the patient’s immune system triggers an effective response to control the growth of tumors.The vaccine is composed of epidermal growth factor protein and P-64 K of the membrane, obtained by recombinant means. The vaccine was successfully applied to more than 1000 patients in Cuba, where his health record was held in June 2008.
The result is that the vaccine extends survival time of patients, but does not prevent or cure lung cancer.
Specialists described the vaccine as “very promising” that soon others will come into being tested in China and will open doors in Asia. Is also expected next clinical trial in countries like Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and Britain.
According to Gonzalez (the proyect leader) they are still workings with the principle of this vaccine with the intent to use in developing therapies against other tumors such as prostate, uterus and breast cancer.

I have been doing some research on this and getting nowhere! some say its safe, others say its not. I am 26 years old and work in healthcare. Since I work at a hospital for the last 5 years I have been the normal flu vaccine and have been fine with it, I never have gotten any side effects other then a sore arm! I also have never gotten the flu since I have been getting the shot. I only get a cold at the most during the flu season.
In any other case I would not care about the H1N1 shot but my mom has cancer and I am exposed to sick people at my job and I don’t want to bring the flu home with me. I am also wondering if my mom should get the H1N1 shot, she has already gotten the normal flu shot and has been getting them for a few years now and has been fine in the past.
I am just not sure what to do, if my mom didnt have cancer I would bother with the shot, but I dont want to bring it home. I did get really really sick in june and that is rare for me!!! I have never been sick in my whole life during the summer season and this year after coming back from vegas I had bad body achs and my lungs where very heavy with alot of mucous! I was ok after a week but whatever I got it knocked my on my ass! I dont know if that was swine flu or not….
Just want your thoughts thats all….I am sure ill here mixed things as well on here!

I am a RN, a teacher, a parent and an asthmatic. I have chosen to have the H1N1 Vaccine.
I have succumbed to social pressure. All my friends want me to get vaccinated. I now feel that is the better option.

I actually think they are. Scientists obviously wouldn’t want to announce it because they wouldn’t make money off of the millions and millions of people infected with the virus that couldn’t afford the cure, especially Africa. It’s all about money, money and money. Even if they will save so many people’s lives, if they can’t line their pockets from it, they won’t do it. Just like how tobacco companies kill thousands of people a day from lung cancer and the like, they still continue producing cigarettes so they can get their money. I don’t have the virus, but so many other people do and I’m curious about how all these things work.
Things like this need to be blown out into the open, where everyone can see it. If no one sees things like this suppressed information, no one will know what is going on. In addition, countless people in the world NEVER ASK QUESTIONS! They believe what is common place and what everyone else says is true. And because of that, they never know what no one else does and there’s never a breakthrough. Does anyone think the same way I do?

No they aren’t. HIV is a very complicated virus which mutates with in the infected person’s body. If you go to the Yahoo features there are 2 great articles that go into detail about a little ray of hope for HIV/AIDS.

I have a professor who really pushes that the HPV vaccine should be given to men. Her reason are:
Men can get it from women, and it can be spread (by oral sex) to the mouth, larynx, and lungs. The virus may cause warts even if it doesn’t lead to cancer — these may be genital warts or warts of the oral cavity and respiratory track. Unfortunately, the problem of laryngeal, tracheal, and bronchial warts is overlooked due to the focus on cancer, but the effect on the air way can become quite debilitating or life-threatening (often ruining voice and sometimes becoming fatal in the trachea, bronchi, and lungs due to blockage of airflow). Its unknown if it cause repirator cancer, but seen as possibe (since it infects those area). The vaccine is aproved for men.
This all makes sense to me. Also, men who don’t become infected can’t pass it to women.
Yet its pushed only as womans’ vaccine — any ideas why?

It was originally conceived (No pun intended) as a vaccine against cervical cancer. Since men don’t have a cervix, it wasn’t targeted for men. It’s still under discussion, but there’s no reason to think it won’t eventually be used for men once the appropriate tests and experiments have been made.

patient has been suffering on nexavar pill (side effects = bloating, lots of water in the feet causing patient to have swollen feet and inability to walk) and 5fu injection. Recommendation to treat with experimental stem cell vaccine is being undergone. Please advice on its effectivity and dangers and as a cure. Also, the patient has recurring lung problems including a cough every month – causing many sleepless nites and tiresome spitting out of phlegm

In my opinion, the patient needs to decide if the possible cure is worth the possible side effects.
We do not know enough about stem cell therapy yet as too long term effects but with renal cancer, better to try something then lay down and give up.
Personally if it was me and I was offered the chance, I would take it. Sounds like the patient needs a PT Scan to see if the cancer has spread to the lungs.

That is something your doctor will have to decide. I do believe it works by each doctor ordering so many doses ahead of time. Whether they get the full amount they order will remain to be seen, but I highly doubt it. Maybe after the first rush is over and vaccine remains then the doctors will be more liberal. BTW- If your not first in line every year to get the annual flu shot, chances are you’ll need to wait anyway until everyone that gets one every year has theirs. Of course there may be doses available for money like in the different pharmacy’s.

Apparently some people in Texas think it’s horrible that researchers now have the power to prevent the suffering and death that results from cervical cancer. They think that it will encourage young girls to have sex.
Let me ask you this:
If the risk of
*pregnancy,
*the transmission of a wide variety of sexually transmitted diseases,
*suffering physical pain as a result of losing virginity,
*getting caught by friends or family,
*or having friends and family otherwise finding out
didn’t stop teenage girls from having sex, what makes you think that cervical cancer, a disease that is caused by a virus that may or may not be transmitted and may or may not cause cancer decades in the future stop them?
That’s like saying it would be more beneficial for society to NOT have an a vaccine for lung cancer because it would encourage people to start smoking.
But why stop there? Why not protest a vaccine for all cancers because it might encourage people to eat Plutonium?

Parents should have the right to refuse the vaccine! If a family teaches abstinence, they should not be forced by the government to have a vaccine. All vaccines have associated risks.
