Why is there Fluoride in the water, even when it is known to cause cancer and disease?
Question by sean S: Why is there Fluoride in the water, even when it is known to cause cancer and disease?
Fluoride is a mixture of unused metals that is mixed in with the water supply. Yes, it helps teeth for a little while but it is the irreversible cause of rotting, cracking and stained teeth.
50 years ago US started this to keep people’s mouth’s clean but you are exposed to harmful chemicals and will have some health issues.
Other countries like Germany have stooped mixing fluoride with the water because there is more bad then good from it. Why can’t US stop too?

Can breast cancer lead to water of lungs? If so how it can be prevented?
Question by alaintawam: Can breast cancer lead to water of lungs? If so how it can be prevented?
Best answer:
Answer by oldhippypaul
Fluid in he lungs can be a late complication of severe breast cancer. It is prevented by taking the best care of yourself that you can. Not smoking and going by what your Doctor recommends. It is not a condition that I would worry about unless your Doctor tells you that you are at risk of it. If he tells you so he will advise you of what the best action is to take.

My friend has lung cancer and can’t drink more than a glass of water aday until he gets his sodium level up.
Question by jeremi15301: My friend has lung cancer and can’t drink more than a glass of water aday until he gets his sodium level up.
My friend has been diagnosed with lung cancer about six months ago. He has went through chemo therapy and radiation treatment He has a feeding tube through his stomach. He finally recently started to eat real food again. The problem is that because his sodium level is so low he can not drink more than 300 ccs of water a day. They say the low sodium is caused by the cancer. I was just wondering if anybody knew how to get his sodium level up. Salty foods and high sodium foods do not effect his bodies sodium make up so there has to be another way to raise his sodium level. All the doctors tell him is that its the cancer and they don’t know how to raise his sodium level.
Best answer:
Answer by norton g
Jeremi-
You and I do not have enough facts available, and we may have some inaccurate information. While your friend may not be able to drink by mouth more than a glass of water a day, his feeding tube allows him to take whatever additional salt (sodium chloride or saline) that he might need. Certainly he could be given any amount of reasonable sodium he needs through any intravenous line he has in his arm. Sadly, lung cancer is a bad disease, especially when it spreads, and it can spread anywhere in the body. Concentrate on being a comforting friend and do not be concerned about his water and sodium balance.
I hope this helps.

Has anyone ever heard of secondary drowning? How does fluid get in the lungs when you are with water? Any Cure
Question by Ronnie W: Has anyone ever heard of secondary drowning? How does fluid get in the lungs when you are with water? Any Cure
I heard of a young boy swimming in the pool and the next day drowned due to water in the lungs? How easy is it to get water in the lungs, what did he do to get water in the lungs, how often does this happen. How do you cure it?
Best answer:
Answer by Brn_Eye_Grl
I saw that this morning as well on the Today Show. Don’t know about you, but I remember swimming as a kid and ending up accidentally breathing in some water (and also swallowing some). You’d cough, and just get past it, just as if some saliva went down the wrong pipe.
That’s exactly what happened in this boy’s case – he just breathed in too much water into his lungs. Also apparently the water had some bacteria in it due to him “soiling himself” as they said, while swimming. So he breathed in water with chlorine and other bacteria.
He may have had other things going on there as well. Maybe he had been a little run down already, who knows.
I found more information about it that answers your other questions as far as stats, how to help it, etc.
From: http://www.surviveoutdoors.com/reference/drowning.asp#dry
Dry Drowning
The statistics vary, but somewhere between 15-20% of individuals who drown have what is called dry drowning. This is specifically a laryngospasm in response to water just starting to be taken into the lungs. It is a natural physiological mechanism for the larynx to spasm, stopping the water from entering the lungs. There is no evidence at this time to suggest that these individuals, since they do not have water in their lungs, would be better off treatment-wise, than others who do have water in their lungs, contrary to popular opinion. Treatment for these individuals remains the same as in a drowning incident, to get oxygenation to their lungs to get them to start breathing again.
