Page Temple shares her Story about Lung Cancer and the San Juan Island Bicycle Ride
Page Temple had a tumor cancer in one of lungs. When she woke up, she discovered that the entire right lung was removed. What could she do with one lung? It scared her. What if she got another tumor? Yes, you have to pay attention, but don’t become paranoid or a hypochondriac. The doctors assured her she could have a normal life . Just move forward. So she started challenging herself to ride her bike, to exercise, to hike and she has proven to be stronger than people with two lungs, But why is she telling you this? Because Page rides the Trek Triad and Bike Ride to raise money and awareness for the American Lung Association. This cause is near and dear to heart because it is her hope with the fundraising that the ride generates, there will be research so that other people, young adults like her, don’t lose a lung. She doesn’t want anyone to have to make those choices that she had to make as a young adults to say no to things like scuba diving or climbing Mount Rainer. But she has said yes to everything else. So ride with Page. She is putting a team together and want to have you on it. Join her in 150 miles of hilly, beautiful roads in the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Shed love to have you on her team. Contact the American Lung Association for further information and how to join her team.
